The last route in Hotokenser. I left Green for last since I like him the most out of all three guys, but it turns out that his route contains the “main story” too. This is the best route in my opinion.
The student council’s vice-president. Mitsuki is a bright and cheerful person who gets along with people easily. It’s hard to read his mind, and so people won’t be able to tell whether he’s serious or just joking. But behind that friendly personality, Mitsuki has another side that only shows when he’s gazing at the sky from the rooftop. He loves sweets and giving nicknames to people, calling Kureha “Piyo-chan” from their first meeting. His own nickname is “Lock”.
Even though the student council is pissing her off, Kureha finds comfort in her friendly new classmates. Especially her new best friend, Misaki, and the guy who bumped into her in the station before, Shinjou Sena. Based on the principal’s order, Kureha goes to the student council room again. Nobody’s around except for Mitsuki though, who noticed that Kureha ate his hidden snack when she was cleaning up their room. (*ﾉ∀｀)ﾟo｡ｱﾋｬｬ He tells her Ryuuchi’s avoiding her and Rikuto’s skipping work, but he believes Kureha will be able to get along with them eventually.
After school, Mitsuki gives Kureha a ride on the back of his scooter. When he learns about how she became Red, he tells her the principal invited him to this school as well. She also asks why he ties his blazer around his hip instead of wearing it, but she admits that kind of fashion suits him. Mitsuki says Kureha is actually quite flexible, and he likes that side of her. Before driving her home, he takes her to a cake shop and invites her to eat sweets together. Kureha feels that Mitsuki is just teasing her and enjoys watching her reactions though.. which is probably true, but she had fun with him anyway. xD
Since his jealous fangirls are staring when Mitsuki visits Kureha’s class, he takes her to the rooftop so they can talk freely. Despite his popularity among the girls, Mitsuki says there’s no point if it’s not with the girl he loves. She asks him if he has a girl he likes, but he only answers “what do you think?” while playing around with her hair. (*´ω`*) Mitsuki wonders if there’s a problem in Kureha’s class since the principal puts her there, and Kureha immediately thinks of Kurosaki Eru, a strange classmate that keeps staring at her earlier today. When she defends Sena against some bullies after class, she can feel that Eru is still looking at her.
Kureha finds the student council room empty after school, so she goes to the rooftop to meet Mitsuki. Eraser-kun says Mitsuki is a complex person, but he can’t tell Kureha anything more than that. Because she needs to “embrace love with her own hands”. (。-∀-)ﾆﾋｯ♪ When she finds him near the water tank, Mitsuki is looking up at the sky with a serious look on his face, wondering how it feels to be free like the birds soaring in the sky. He pulls Kureha to sit down with him and watch the sunset together, saying this is his secret zone.
Sadly before they can have a rooftop tea party, the bad guys appear to invade the rooftop.. and soon the black ranger Karula comes to attack them. His barrier nullifies their power, and he strangles Mitsuki while asking Kureha to bow down and beg for mercy. They were in a pinch when Ryuuichi and Rikuto finally come to save them. They keep bickering as usual though, so Karula leaves after telling Kureha to remember his name.
To deepen the bond between the student council members, Mitsuki suggests they have a sweets party at Ryuuichi’s gigantic mansion on Sunday. Kureha is so excited to meet a real butler, and the guys leave her at the entrance since it’s so embarrassing. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ Ryuuichi already prepared a giant chocolate fondue just for today, which sends Mitsuki to heaven as a true sweets lover lol. He tells Kureha she’s got chocolate on her face, and he licks it off her cheek saying it’s delicious. ｲﾔ—–(*ﾉ∀ﾉ)—–ﾝ!! Of course Kureha’s gaping like a goldfish since it counts as a kiss, but she can’t tell if Mitsuki did it on purpose or just joking.
The next day at school, Sena tells Kureha that his bag is missing. She was about to fight the delinquents who bullied him the other day, but Eru suddenly stops them and tells the bullies to leave before he kicks their butts. He also tells Kureha that Sena’s bag is hidden behind the school, and Sena cries upon seeing his bag in such a bad condition. Since Sena refuses to go home, Kureha ends up staying with him at school until it gets dark. Sena asks if she has any secrets to be that strong, but Mitsuki shows up before Kureha can tell him anything. For some reason, Sena avoids contact with Mitsuki and goes home right away.
Suddenly a loud noise is heard from the school ground, and soon Eraser-kun alerts them of a demon nearby — Omoikondara, a road roller demon. (CV: Kishio Daisuke) (*ﾉ∀｀)ﾟo｡ｱﾋｬｬ He’s more interested in destroying the school rather than fighting them, but eventually Kureha kicks his ass with her Red Hurricane. During this battle Ryuuichi and Rikuto are absent since they’re too busy bickering over the swimming club’s gachimuchi show plan. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵
Meanwhile, Eru is talking to someone in the shadows. They’ve been working together up until now, but Eru isn’t pleased at how he sends the demon out earlier.. and the shadowed figure knows that Eru secretly wants to approach Kureha as well. He doesn’t care though as long as Eru doesn’t get in his way, since his plans are moving along now that he has found the “chosen one”. Do you have anyone suspicious in mind? Because I do. (´・ω・`A；)
Soon the test results are posted on the bulletin board at school. Kureha’s name isn’t on the list though since she just transferred. Naturally Ryuuichi tops the exams, Rikuto’s grades are on the bottom, and Mitsuki’s results are so-so.. though Ryuuichi tells Kureha that Mitsuki can come out on top if he actually bothers to study, as he’s getting mediocre marks on purpose. After school Kureha comes to the rooftop and asks Mitsuki about this, but he only says he has things that he wants to hide from other people. Even if they’re friends, it takes time before he can open up to her. Mitsuki then climbs down and goes home, leaving Kureha alone.
Even though nobody ever saw Mitsuki getting angry, he clearly avoids Kureha the next day. So learning from experience, Kureha apologized and invites him to her house. At first Mitsuki was reluctant, but when she says she’s got some delicious cake for them, he immediately puts a helmet on her head saying “get on then, where’s your house?” (*ﾉ∀｀)ﾟo｡ｱﾋｬｬ Kureha tries to hide her huge stuffed bear when Mitsuki enters her room, so he tickles her until she slides down, pulling Mitsuki to fall on top of her. (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｷｬｰ
They were staring into each other’s eyes when Kureha’s mother comes with the cake, and she quickly realized something was happening between the two. (。-∀-)ﾆﾋｯ♪ Kureha tries to tell her that she’s wrong, but her mother says “so you call your boyfriend with a nickname” LOL. She tells Mitsuki her daughter is such a tomboy who loves playing heroes when she was small, so much that she ripped her panties on a neighbor’s fence. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ Mitsuki is the first guy Kureha ever brought home, so her mother is relieved that she finally found a boyfriend. Despite Kureha’s desperate attempts to stop this, Mitsuki is interested and wants to hear more stories as they eat the cake together. xD
Because Kureha goes home on the back of Mitsuki’s scooter, the next day a rumor that they’re dating starts spreading at school. Sena asks her directly if they’re really lovers, but Kureha says they’re not.. not yet. He’s relieved to hear that since Mitsuki seems to be the jealous type, and he wants to invite Kureha to study together today. She refused at first since she’s not that smart, but eventually she agrees when Sena said he probably won’t get bullied anymore if he gets better grades. Kureha doesn’t want her mother to interrupt again like yesterday, so they decided to study at Sena’s place instead. Of course Mitsuki isn’t amused when he heard about this, especially when Kureha says it’s with Sena. He gets jealous and tells her to go, even though Kureha will cancel the plan if only Mitsuki stops her.
Kureha runs after Mitsuki all the way to the rooftop, where he tells her there’s something about Sena that really bothers him. Since Kureha thinks a popular person like him won’t understand how it feels to be bullied, Mitsuki finally tells her he used to be bullied too in the past. Before transferring to Mihotoke Gakuen, he went to an elite school where everything is judged based on your grades. There was a quiet student in his class who isn’t smart enough and gets bullied, so one day Mitsuki defended that student from everyone else. Sadly he became the next target, and even that student joined the bullies’ side against him. They put pranks on his shoe locker, threw his desk out of the window, and he had to pick his stuff out in the rain. If he tried resisting, they only laughed saying “we’re elites and we’re always right, it’s your own fault for getting bullied.” ﾝﾀﾞﾄｺﾗｧｯ(ノಠ益ಠ )ノ〃┻━┻
When he transferred to Mihotoke Gakuen, Mitsuki decided to distance himself from that “elite” world. Studying has lost its purpose to him, which is why he never studies anymore. Mitsuki apologized for telling Kureha all of this. He thinks his past will ruin her image of him, but she says she’s happy that he finally told her everything. Because of his own experience, Mitsuki feels that Sena is different. It’s more like he’s getting bullied on purpose. He suspects it’s only an act to get Kureha, and he admits he’s worried about her. Sadly Kureha doesn’t like it when he’s talking bad about Sena, so she asks if he’s saying this out of jealousy. Mitsuki gets pissed too and walks off, leaving Kureha to cry alone since she doesn’t understand him anymore.
Not too long after she comes into Sena’s room, he brings out some tea for her. His personality changes and he starts saying creepy things like “pouring blood on the altar”, but then he laughs and says he’s just joking. Well, you know what.. HE’S NOT. The tea he gave to Kureha was drugged, and she falls unconscious as Sena starts laughing maniacally. Σ(ﾟﾛﾟﾉ)ﾉﾋｲｨｨｨ!! When she opens her eyes, she finds herself chained to an altar in a creepy cave under the school. Soon Sena appears and reveals his true identity: Bishop Sena, head of the bad guys. Tonight he’s going to fuse her body with the strongest demon king in existence, Amon, so he can take over the world. (i|!゜Дﾟi|!)ﾋｨｨｨ
Meanwhile, Kureha’s mother calls Mitsuki to ask if her daughter is with him. Mitsuki gets a bad feeling and goes out to look for her, eventually learning about the situation from Eraser-kun at school. Earlier he sneaked out of Kureha’s pocket when Sena was away, trying to inform everyone about the emergency. Eru actually saw him escaping, but he did nothing since he’s not going to help with Sena’s plan anymore. Eru disappears and Sena escapes when Mitsuki arrives to save Kureha, so they leave the cave to meet up with their friends outside.
Unfortunately their battle isn’t over yet. A creepy laughter is heard as the gigantic demon king, Amon appears in front of them. It turns out that Sena already sacrificed himself, combining his soul with Amon’s to conquer the world. Amon’s body is made of thoughts, so physical attacks don’t work on him.. but his attacks take down both Ryuuichi and Rikuto in no time. He says it’s a revenge for hitting him with a bike, obviously directed at the latter. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ When Amon follows Mitsuki and Kureha to the rooftop, Kureha blows his mist-like body with her Red Hurricane and they strike the demon’s king core. ★万☆ ヽ(*´∀`*)ﾉ☆歳★ Amon vanishes with a loud explosion.
Instead of reporting the whole thing to the principal, Mitsuki wants to make up with Kureha first. They escaped from the school with his scooter and saw a hot air balloon competition on the way, so they decide to join in the fun. As they enjoy the beautiful view together, Mitsuki says his dream is now fulfilled — to fly in the sky with Kureha. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:* Before she can apologize to him, Mitsuki tells her that he thought of her as a best friend. He can tell her all of his doubts, even though he never told anyone before. But it’s different right now, because he has fallen in love with her. Mitsuki then tells Kureha to close her eyes, and he kisses her.
Right after the battle, Kureha saw a dream about Mitsuki saying goodbye to her. She feels really scared and wakes up calling his name, but Mitsuki hugs her in her arms saying he’s right here. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑ Even though Kureha feels guilty, Mitsuki tells her it’s okay to cry right now. They both joined Hotokenser to help each other, and he feels honored to fight by her side. As they watch the sunrise together, Mitsuki finally tells Kureha that he loves her and kisses her, saying it’s sweeter than any sweets he ever had. Mitsuki then thanks Kureha for loving him and asks if he can kiss her again. (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ
A week after the fight with Amon, Mitsuki comes to visit Kureha in her house. He also bought some sweets so they can make up properly, stuffing them into Kureha’s mouth when she tries to apologize. Kureha’s mother comes in as Mitsuki was comforting her crying daughter, so she tells them “oh well, a lot will happen until you get married” LOL. Mitsuki spits out his tea upon hearing this, but later he tells Kureha “I don’t mind, because I love you”. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑ When she asks him to say it again, Mitsuki says she’s got cream on her face and kisses her on the lips.
*ahem* .. sorry about that. Mitsuki’s route has awaken the inner fangirl in me. (∀｀*ゞ)ﾃﾍ Who would have thought that the main plot takes place here out of all the routes, but that’s great since I absolutely love Mitsuki. His romantic scenes with Kureha are so cute, and all of his endings are really sweet, including the normal one. His kiss CGs are irresistible! (*´д｀*)ﾊｧﾊｧ When Mitsuki instantly made up with Kureha upon hearing the word “cake”, I couldn’t stop smiling since it’s just too cute. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑
The only thing that bothers me is Eru’s purpose in the whole plot. It wasn’t explained who he really is or what he’s trying to achieve, so I wonder if he’s only here to kick the Hotokenser’s butts. (´・ω・`A；) But that aside, I really loved the game, especially Mitsuki’s route. Now I feel sad that I’ve finished the whole game. It’s not enough. I want more Hotokenser! ｶﾓｰﾝщ(ﾟДﾟщ) Fandisk please..? Please? 。゜(。ಥ_ಥ｡)゜。
