As if Iori’s voice in TYB Super Mint wasn’t grating enough, Tattsun is using that voice again in Aoiza. (´・ω・`A；) Thankfully he doesn’t sound as forced here. Hachi’s a cute character too.
Hachi is in charge of supporting roles and backstage works in Aoiza, mainly because he’s too nervous and clumsy to act on stage. Despite all of his failures to get a significant role, Hachi is always cheerful and overcomes them with a bright smile. He’s also the moodmaker in Aoiza, though the other members also love picking on him all the time. Just like Hisoka, Hachi doesn’t have a sacred power nor a sacred treasure, but he does his best to help them in battle.
Touched by the Hime sisters’ concern, Aoi decides to refresh her mind by helping them clean the floor in Miyoshino. She yells out her trademark old man gag to put more spirit into it, and that’s when Hachi comes looking for the person who said such “interesting” things lol. Since he just appeared out of the blue, Aoi ends up knocking him out completely as they bump into each other. Not to mention he also gets electrified when the worried Aoi tried to touch him, since normal people can’t touch the sacred treasures. (:.oﾟзﾟo:.).:∵ぶっ Soon he gets up and tells Aoi he’s fine though, so no worries!
Since “Hachi-san” makes him feel like an insect and he doesn’t like formalities, Aoi then gives him the nickname “Hacchi” — too cute, but he doesn’t mind. Why an insect? Because the first kanji in his name “hachi / 蜂” means bee. He also calls Moni “Shigetan”, which is an alternate way of reading her name, though Rin gets angry everytime he does that. xD
Hachi admits that he’s actually worried about Aoi, so he’s glad to see her doing just fine. He invites her for a walk outside saying he’ll buy delicious dangos for her, and Aoi agrees since talking to Hachi makes her feel a lot better. While Aoi isn’t sure if she’s really the embodiment of “Futaba Aoi”, Hachi doesn’t really care about such things. To him Aoi is still his hime-san even if she’s not the real thing, and Aoi thinks he looks really cool when he said those words. (❤ฺ￫艸￩) Just as he promised earlier, Hachi buys A LOT of dangos for Aoi. They also meet Housen here, and Hachi gives him a dango so he’d stop bothering them. (*ﾉ∀｀)ﾟo｡ｱﾋｬｬ
As they walk back to Miyoshino, Aoi senses a strange aura coming from a priest nearby. Of course Hachi can’t sense this since he’s just a normal person, but he notices that someone’s watching them from the shadows. Hachi quickly takes Aoi back to Miyoshino, where they tell everyone what they just saw. After explaining everything she needs to know about uramon and the sacred treasures, Kensuke agrees to let Aoi see things with her own eyes. They find the priest near the temple at night, and Hachi immediately runs into battle to distract him. He panicks upon learning nobody can touch Kensuke’s sword, but that’s only until Aoi shows her real power and purifies the possessed priest.
Aoi’s first battle impressed Hachi so much he almost touched her again, so Nanami explains that he can’t touch any sacred treasures or else he’ll get hurt — shocking the poor guy. As if that’s not disappointing enough, Kensuke also teases him saying “you can stay there and bite your finger when I’m having fun with Aoi” LOL. However, Aoi tells Hachi that he’s an important friend to her, and that won’t change even if he doesn’t have the power to touch her. This lifts Hachi’s mood instantly, and he promises to take her to eat something delicious again later.
In May, Aoiza travels to Ginza for Aoi’s first performance. She throws an old man gag again along the way, and Hachi gets jealous when Nanami actually gets her joke lol. Since Aoi looks worried about playing Benten Kouzou’s role, Hachi then offers to help her practice as they take a walk around town. He tells Aoi he joined Aoiza last year when Nanami came back to the group. His sister Kanoko used to take care of him after their parents passed away, but eventually she also died due to an epidemic disease. Hachi was just a kid back then, so he had to live in dark alleys alone — stealing and doing dirty jobs just to survive. One day he got beaten up by the local gangsters, and that’s when Nanami came to save him. Nanami took the young Hachi to live with him, and Hachi has been following him ever since.
Because of his past, Hachi feels that living with Aoiza is such a blissful thing. Even though he only gets minor roles like horses or unnamed victims, he really enjoys his current life. When Aoi says he’s a really nice person, Hachi blushes and replies “Boss Nanami is so much nicer” ( *´艸`)ｸｽｯ♪ He also tells Aoi not to be sad, since Aoiza and him will become her family in this world. After hearing about all of this, Aoi feels ashamed that she’s complaining just because she has to act on stage. Rin and Kensuke are surprised to see how much she improved after the practice, and now she’s ready to act in Shiranami Gonin Otoko.
Sadly during Aoi’s first performance, Zagin no Shou comes to crash their stage. Hachi comes to protect Aoi when Shou’s subordinate tries to pull her away by force, and Shou recognizes him as “Hachikou”.. but instead of reminiscing with an old friend, right now he wants Aoi to be his woman! ( ಠ_ಠ ) Shou escapes when Kensuke tells them to stop fooling around, but that night he returns to get Aoi from the inn. As much as Hachi wants to fight for Aoi, he knows he can’t be her weapon. He asks Nanami to help Aoi in battle before running off to distract Shou, and eventually Aoi purifies Shou with Nanami’s bow. The fact that he couldn’t help Aoi in battle bothered Hachi so much, but he instantly goes back to his cheerful self when Aoi says he’s a really kind person — that’s why he’s living a happy life now.
Hoping the new port town can make Aoi feel better, Aoiza travels to Yokohama in June. Hachi also borrows a rickshaw just for Aoi, asking her to ride on as he pulls the vehicle around the town in high speed lol. He’s afraid that he might acidentally touch her if they walk side by side, hence this wonderful idea. (*ﾉ∀｀)ﾟo｡ｱﾋｬｬ Sadly Aoi’s butt starts hurting after a few laps around the town, so Hachi buys some cookies for her as an apology for not realizing. When they see Sora looking at them from the streets, Hachi kindly offers their cookies to the little boy too. Chouko soon comes to pick up her son and Aoi senses a weird aura coming from her, but even more than that.. she notices that Sora looks scared of his mother.
Seiji comes to greet them not too long after Chouko and Sora left. Upon seeing the rickshaw beside them, he wonders if Hachi has quit Aoiza and is now working as a rickshaw driver instead. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ They were talking about Housen’s new story when Yukichi also appears to introduce himself, making them nervous for completely different reasons lol. It’s the first time Hachi ever said “はじめまして”, and Aoi’s surprised since his face’s printed on every single 10,000 yen note in the future. As for Seiji.. well, he didn’t expect to see Yukichi coming to meet Aoi directly. Yukichi reminds Seiji that he’s got “work” to do, so both of them left after saying goodbye to Hachi and Aoi.
During their sword dancing performance, Aoi suddenly feels an evil aura nearby. She sends a signal to Hachi, who was monitoring the audience, and he chases after Chouko with Moni. Aoi and the others follow him as soon as they’re done with the performance, but they lost track of Chouko upon meeting Sora and Housen on the way. Sora guides them back to his mansion, and that’s where they finally find the possessed Chouko. Her uramon‘s aura is so strong even Hachi gets chills down his spine, so Aoi quickly purifies her with Kikaku’s naginata before she can cause anymore damage.
Unfortunately Chouko’s in a very weak condition after the battle. The evil aura caused quite a damage to her body, and she might need a few months to recover. Even though the Aoiza members are planning to take care of everything for him, Sora wants to go back to Hirata. His father’s life might be in danger, and he can’t just sit around in Yokohama doing nothing. Hachi knows that Sora’s really serious about this, so he tells Sora to relax saying he’ll do something to help. Kensuke agrees and decides to take the whole group to the Iga Province next, letting Housen come with them as long as he’s ready to work for Aoiza as a member.
On the way through the long mountain path, Rin suddenly takes Hisoka and Moni to visit their hometown. He says he’ll send them a letter via Moni later, so the group decided to take a small break in the nearby village. Aoi notices Hachi spacing out in front of the inn, but he runs off saying he’ll explain later. It turns out that Hachi’s preparing a small street performance to show his skills — Nankin Tamasudare. He gets nervous when Aoi comes to watch, but eventually the show attracts the villagers around them too. In fact, it impressed them so much they give him various kinds of vegetables lol.
Housen says he’ll bring the presents to the inn, so Hachi and Aoi should just go on a date and enjoy their day. Of course Hachi goes Σ(〃д〃)ﾊｯ!! and turns bright red, but Sora ends up going with them since he’s in love with Aoi too LOL. When Hachi lifts Sora up for a piggyback ride, Aoi realizes that he’s doing it for her sake, knowing Sora will get hurt if he touches her. Hachi is truly a good person, and Aoi starts seeing him as a man ever since. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:* An old lady then passes by saying “how nice! playing with daddy and mommy?”, which makes Hachi blush again at the thought of being married to Aoi. |萌|･´∀`･)ﾊｧﾊｧ 萌えぇぇ↑ He admits he wants that kind of life too. xD
Since they’re talking about families, Sora tells them that his parents never played with him like this. They always look so gloomy, though his father tells him to take care of Chouko when they left Hirata. Sora feels sad that he’s just a useless kid, but Aoi tells him being an adult doesn’t mean they can do everything. His parents are doing their best for Sora despite all the boundaries, so he should do the same as their son. It’s okay even if he’s just a kid, because his smile would be enough to support his parents. Sora finally smiles as they walk back to the inn, ready to eat all of those vegetables from earlier lol. Since Hisoka and Rin are back from their trip, that night Sora enjoys helping Hisoka in the kitchen.. and Hachi whispers that having a family is such a wonderful thing.
After going through hoards of assassins along the way, Aoiza finally arrives in Hirata the next night. They are welcomed by a possessed Inomata, and Aoi eventually purifies him with Rin’s bell while Hachi protects Sora from Inomata’s sleeping spells. Thankfully Sora’s father is still alive even after drinking Inomata’s poison, so Sora decides to stay in Hirata and nurse his father back to health. When morning comes, it’s time for Aoiza to continue their journey. Sora looks really sad to part with them and starts crying together with Hachi, until Aoi tells them to say goodbye with a smile. Before they leave Hirata, Sora promises to write letters for them.
When August rolls by, Aoiza finally returns to their base in Ueno. The long trip killed Aoi’s legs, but she can take it easy for a few days before they continue their journey to Kamimori village. There’s a lot of ancient literature in the village, so Aoi might be able to find a way to return to her own world. But let’s save that for later, because tonight they’re having a party! ヽ(*´∀`*)ﾉ The Hime sisters also ordered some Summer clothes for Aoi, telling Hachi to go away since they’re having a girl’s talk right now. (*ﾉ∀｀)ﾟo｡ｱﾋｬｬ He’s glad to see her enjoying her life in this world though, and his wish never changed — he wants to be more helpful for Aoi. When Aoi tells him about her family, Hachi remembers that Kanoko used to wonder if their “brother” is worried.. though he doesn’t know who she’s referring to.
Just then a drunk Housen tells them not to create their own いちゃいちゃ world during the party, making both Hachi and Aoi blush after a short, adorable silence. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑ Not to mention Kensuke also adds “don’t disturb the inexperienced youngsters!” ROFL. That aside, Aoi does realize that Hachi is the biggest reason she’s having fun in 1873. (❤ฺ￫艸￩)
A few days later, Aoiza sets off on their journey towards Kamimori village. This is Hachi’s second time visiting the village, but he doesn’t remember anything since he just joined Aoiza last year. They visit the sacred treasure chamber for the formal greetings upon arriving in the village, and Hachi’s really excited to see the beautiful silver dagger sitting on its pedestal. For some reason Hachi feels drawn towards the sacred treasure, but when he gets closer.. the dagger suddenly gets absorbed into his chest — finally finding its master. Naturally Kikaku is shocked, since a sacred treasure’s master is supposed to be someone from the village.
When Kikaku asks Hachi to explain his family background, Hachi says he doesn’t know much. He only knows that his mother and Kanoko ran away from an unknown place, and that she got the surname “Hachisuka” after she remarried.. but that’s enough proof for Kikaku. He tells Hachi that his mother’s former name was Kotobuki Momiji — Kikaku’s mother. Kanoko was his younger sister.. and his mother was pregnant when they left Kamimori village. Which means that Hachi is actually Kikaku’s younger brother! Σ(ﾟдﾟ ；) Later on Hachi tells Aoi that he’s happy to find his long lost brother, but it will take time until he gets used to it. Kikaku and him are by no means alike, not to mention their personalities are complete opposites. However, Hachi turns incredibly cheerful upon realizing that he can touch Aoi now. ( *´艸`)ｸｽｯ♪
That night, Hachi tries his best to call Kikaku “nii-chan” while Kikaku tries calling him “Youta”. In the end they both failed and Hachi runs away out of embarassment, leaving Kikaku wondering what he should do about this situation. (:.oﾟзﾟo:.).:∵ぶっ Despite Hachi and Kikaku dealing with their brotherhood behind the screen, Aoiza’s Yaoya Oshichi performance is a great success. A friendly old lady praises Aoi’s acting skills, and soon after Hachi also comes to tell her that the audience were all really impressed by the show. Aoi then tells Hachi not to force himself so hard about Kikaku. Back in April Hachi was the one who cheered her up, and now she wants to do the same for him. Hachi blushes again after hearing this, and when Aoi asks him what’s wrong.. he runs off saying it’s nothing lol. Why so cute, Hachi? xD
When they heard that the friendly old lady doesn’t return to the inn until it’s very late at night, the Aoiza members decided to look for her thinking it might be an uramon case.. and they’re right. Not too long after they go outside, they can sense an evil aura lurking nearby. It’s Hachi’s first time feeling such a creepy sensation, but he knows right away that it must be uramon. Soon they find the old lady near the temple and following Kensuke’s order, Hachi releases his crest’s power for the first time. After he transforms into his sacred treasure — obviously the dagger — Aoi takes him to purify the old lady’s body.
Knowing the battle took a lot of energy, Kikaku then tells his little brother to take it easy. They’ll carry the old lady to the inn, so Hachi can walk slowly while recovering his energy. (*´ω`*) As she helps Hachi to walk back to the inn, Aoi says it’s been a while since the last time they had a proper chat. Things has been hectic lately, with their performance and his brotherhood with Kikaku. Hachi asks how does she feel when they didn’t have time to talk, and Aoi answers “I feel lonely” — sending him to the seventh heaven. Hachi then gathers his courage to ask “can we hold hands?” and Aoi gladly says yes. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑
Aoiza receives a letter from Seiji the next day. He apologized for not coming to watch their show, but he won’t be able to visit them again anytime soon because he’s getting busy with “work”. When Nanami tells Aoi “probably that guy wants to protect a princess like you”, Hachi gets jealous again though he quickly says it’s nothing. (。-∀-)ﾆﾋｯ♪
Because of what happened last month, the Aoiza members didn’t have any time to check the ancient literatures. Aoi understands though, since the awkward moments continue between Hachi and Kikaku.. until one day Kensuke complains that he’s had enough lol. There’s a lot of uramon cases lately, so they need to do something about that awkwardness in order to fight properly. Plus, it’s affecting their performance too. It’s not that easy for them though, so Aoi then suggests them having a little chat about their mother and sister. She laughs since their way of thinking is actually pretty similar, moreover since they go “hime-san? / hime?” at the same time with the same, confused look. (*ﾉ∀｀)ﾟo｡ｱﾋｬｬ
At night Hachi comes to visit Aoi in her room, suddenly pinning her down to the bed saying he really wants to touch her. (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ Impulsive action aside, Hachi says he only wants to thank her for earlier. He feels that his relationship with Kikaku is slowly moving forward, and Aoi’s glad she can make him feel better. Hachi then invites Aoi to go out after lunch tomorrow, falling asleep on top of her right after she said yes. (❤ฺ￫艸￩) Soon Kikaku also comes to ask if Aoi saw his little brother, and he obviously goes Σ(ﾟﾛﾟﾉ)ﾉﾋｲｨｨｨ!! upon seeing said little brother sleeping on top of their princess. Needless to say Kikaku chops Hachi on the head and drags him away, saying he’ll lecture him all night. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵
The next day, Hachi meets up with Aoi after lunch. He blushes when Aoi asks him about last night, but he admits was planning to spend the whole night in her room. ♡(｡￫ˇ艸￩) Today he’s taking her to the elite area in town, filled with huge mansions and villas owned by aristocrats, and that’s where they saw Seiji riding a gorgeous carriage nearby. For some reason he looks really sad, and Hachi can feel that Seiji’s just like a little kid who gets involved in a prohibited business.. just like himself in the past. They follow the carriage all the way to Sakazuki’s huge mansion, eventually witnessing Sakazuki getting possessed right after Seiji left. Both Hachi and Aoi can sense uramon‘s aura in the air, so they rush back and report this to everyone.
When the Aoiza members return to the mansion, the whole place is already surrounded by a strong evil aura. They soon find the possessed Sakazuki inside, bitching about how everyone worships Sanjou instead of him. It doesn’t take long until he reaches the finest, creepiest level of zombification, so much that Nanami actually feels sorry for Sanjou. (´・ω・`A；) Eventually Aoi purifies him with Hachi’s dagger, but sadly Sakazuki ends up disappearing as usual. Both Hachi and Aoi are shocked by this kind of result, though there’s nobody to blame. Even if Seiji is really involved in this incient, they can’t shake off the feeling that someone else is pulling the strings from behind the screen.
Aoi doesn’t want Hachi to worry, so she decides to keep her head up and continue walking forward. However, she gets an extremely bad feeling upon hearing that Sanjou is coming to Nikko soon. Both Kikaku and Hachi get fired up even though it’s just a bad feeling at this point, with Housen going “these brothers.. ( ಠ_ಠ )” on the background lol. In any case, they’re going to rescue Sanjou if he gets possessed by uramon‘s aura.
Since Aoiza can’t leave Nikko before Sanjou does, now they have a big problem to face: travel expenses. Kensuke tells Aoi to give them ideas for their next performance, so she asks for some time to think about it. After spending the whole afternoon thinking in her room, Aoi ends up taking a walk with Hachi to get some inspiration. They were discussing about story ideas when Yukichi appears to greet them, saying he actually visits Nikko from time to time. He tries to get more information from them, such as why Aoiza is staying in Nikko for such a long time, but Aoi covers it up by saying they’re only planning to do more performance here.
In order to get more reaction from them, Yukichi vaguely mentions that he met Seiji not too long ago. After Yukichi left, Hachi says that something feels terribly wrong.. but even though he can’t point it out, he’s not amused that Yukichi’s acting all friendly with Aoi. (*ﾉ∀｀)ﾟo｡ｱﾋｬｬ He admits he’s worried about having tons of love rivals, since Aoi is so cute lol. This eventually gives Aoi an idea for their next performance — The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. Kaguya-hime has five princes falling head over heels for her, so Hachi can get a proper role too this time. He mutters “proposing to hime-san.. proposing to hime-san..” before accepting the idea with an extremely high spirit, dragging her back to tell everyone about this. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵
That night Aoi’s surprised to see Hachi sneaking into her room again, going “but I want to see you right now.. (´・ω・`)” when she tries protesting. xD This time he feels pissed since he has so many love rivals, including Yukichi and the other Aoiza members — even though it’s only on stage lol. Hachi then goes “if only you’re only mine.. I want to stay with you..” before falling asleep on top of her again. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑ Aoi’s heart is beating really fast and she feels protected in his arms, but sadly Kikaku soon finds out and drags his “stupid little brother” away from their princess. This time he’ll give Hachi a divine punishment instead of lectures lol. It doesn’t change Aoi’s feelings though. She thinks Hachi is cute. (。-∀-)ﾆﾋｯ♪
After their successful performance, Hachi says he doesn’t get why Kaguya-hime decides to return to the moon. After all, it’d be better if she stays on Earth with the people who loves her. Aoi realizes that her situation is actually the same with Kaguya-hime, since she won’t be able to meet the Aoiza members again if she returns home. She has family and friends, but Hachi isn’t there in the future world. Just then Aoi suddenly feels dizzy, and they notice that “Futaba Aoi” is now cracked. It’d be dangerous if the stone breaks during battle, so for now Kensuke tells Hachi to take care of Aoi and guard her at all times.
Even though “Futaba Aoi” is running out of power, Aoi has to jump into battle when Sanjou gets possessed a few days later. The stone cracks even more after she purifies him with Hachi’s dagger, and Hachi hugs her saying it’s okay. He tells her that he will always be here for her, even though he’s actually really scared that Aoi might disappear like Kaguya-hime.
Aoiza’s intending to go back to Ueno when the cold November comes, but they have to push back the plan upon receiving a letter from Yukichi. He’s coming to see them in Nikko today with some information about Seiji, though Hachi knows Yukichi’s definitely not worried about the poor guy.. which is true, since Yukichi then laughs saying Hachi has a really sharp instinct. He admits that Seiji is just a tool to spread uramon, enraging Hachi for saying such things about a person who has been working for him all this time. Yukichi invites Aoiza to become his tool as well, only to get an お断りだぜ！☆＼(`o´) from them obviously.
After Yukichi left, Nanami explains that both Housen and him worked for Yukichi before, and it was from them that Yukichi learned about the sacred treasures. Of course they can’t blame Nanami since it wasn’t a pleasant experience for him either, and they need to be extra careful since Yukichi has an insanely powerful subordinate — Toki Yatarou. After telling everyone to cool their heads off for now, Aoi invites Hachi to talk in her room so they both can calm down. Both Aoi and Hachi knows that doing this kind of job hurts Seiji as well, especially since Hachi had a similar experience in the past. The only difference is Hachi had Nanami to save him back then, while Seiji doesn’t have anyone.
It was the first time Aoi ever saw Hachi in rage mode, but she thinks it’s the proof that Hachi is a really kind person. Not everyone can get angry for other people, and Seiji must be happy if he knows Hachi understands the pain he has to go through. Hachi blushes after hearing those words and thanks Aoi, saying he might be able to think calmly now. (*´∀`*) They don’t know what Seiji thinks about all of this, but still.. they want to help him.
Just before Aoi goes to bed at night, Hachi visits her room and pins her down again lol. Earlier she listened to all of his worries, so now he wants to do the same for her. Tonight he’s going to stay until she falls asleep, telling Aoi not to think about anything and just go back to sleep. Even though he promised he won’t do anything weird.. Hachi gives Aoi a kiss on the cheek saying it takes a lot of courage to do so. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑ Soon Hachi falls asleep beside her, and Aoi also goes back to sleep feeling all peaceful inside. .｡ﾟ+.ヽ(*´∀`*)ﾉﾟ+.ﾟ。. This time Kikaku doesn’t find out, but he still comes to drag his little brother away in the morning lol.
The next night, Aoi heard a scream and Moni starts barking outside. They were expecting to see Toki, but instead they only find Seiji in front of the inn. Even after Hachi transforms into his dagger and tries to purify him with Aoi, Seiji only apologized and keeps shooting until the evil aura hurts himself. Before it’s too late, Kensuke then grabs Seiji’s hand and drags him away as they disappear into the night — leaving everyone confused.
Since their leader’s currenly missing and “Futaba Aoi” is running out of power, Aoi suggests them having a discussion with Yukichi. They might be able to find a way to resolve everything without fighting, though it’s still a dangerous idea. Hachi tells her it’s okay even if she makes a mistake, because the other Aoiza members are always here to support her. They’re friends, and that fact would never change even if she loses all her power. Aoi is touched and starts crying, so Nanami tells Hachi to “hug her shoulders already!” until Kikaku blushes and changes the subject. (。-∀-)ﾆﾋｯ♪
In order to catch up with Yukichi, who already went back to Tokyo, Aoiza decides to return to Ueno as well. Aoi falls asleep upon arriving at Miyoshino, waking up to find a panicked Hachi by her side since she was actually crying in her sleep. To make Aoi feel better, Hachi asks if there’s something he can do for her.. so Aoi says she wants celebrate her birthday together. Aoi thinks about a kiss when Hachi asks what she wants for her birthday present, but she’s too embarrassed to say it. ｲﾔﾝ☆(*´∀`)σ)))))*3ﾟ),･´.､ Hachi only gives her ten seconds to think though, so he eventually kisses her saying she’s just too cute. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑ This is the only thing he can do for now, but he promises to give her a present next year.. so she should stay in this world with him.
A few days later, Yukichi gives them a reply to meet him in Zojoji Temple at night. They sense a strong killing intent on the way, and it was then when Toki appears to ambush them. He just can’t forgive them for rejecting his young master’s brilliant idea, so now he’s going to kill every single one of them — including Kensuke and Seiji after they joined the battle. While his loyalty and devotion towards Yukichi is admirable, the path Toki’s walking on is the path where he kills everyone other than his young master.. and obviously they can’t let him do that. After a long fight, Aoi finally purifies the possessed Toki with Hachi’s dagger.
They rush to see Yukichi before Toki regains his consciousness, but it’s too late since Yukichi then sets off the whole temple on fire. People who clings to the old, traditional things are just blocking the country’s growth, so he wants them to witness as he burns down one of those “outdated” things. Yukichi obviously doesn’t care about the people inside and leaves just like that, but thankfully Kensuke calls the rain to put off the fire. It starts snowing as the Aoiza members run back to Miyoshino, where “Futaba Aoi” finally shatters into pieces. Hachi’s really worried that something might happen to Aoi, but Kensuke tells them she can finally return to the future now that “Futaba Aoi” is broken. He can call the thunder with his sword, and Seiji’s mirror will open the path back to her world.
Hachi is shocked and asks Aoi if she’s really leaving them. He already promised to celebrate her birthday next year, and there’s still a lot of fun things waiting ahead of them.. even Aoi herself admits she wants to celebrate Hachi’s birthday together. Hachi says he’s willing to do anything as long as she’s staying here with him, finally calling her name instead of the usual “hime-san“. .｡ﾟ+.ヽ(*´∀`*)ﾉﾟ+.ﾟ。. Both of them are surprised, but Aoi feels happy when Hachi admits that he’s been calling her name in his heart all this time. Hachi once again asks Aoi to stay in this world forever with him, and the moment Aoi says “yes”.. he happily lifts her up and screams “Aoiii–! I love you–! in front of everyone. (*ﾉ∀｀)ﾟo｡ｱﾋｬｬ
In the ending, Aoi tells Kensuke and Seiji they don’t need to do the ritual anymore. Her decision to stay in this world with Hachi is firm, so she won’t change her mind even if she misses her family back at home. Aoi knows she will only regret it later if she leaves Hachi here, and she probably won’t be able to live a cheerful life without him. When Aoi turns around and asks Hachi to stay with her forever, he happily replies with “of course! let’s walk forward together!”
Cuteness! Cuteness galore! During this whole route I was ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑ ing so much I thought I’m gonna die LOL. Since Hachi is the baka of the game, all of his romance scenes are mostly about him blushing around Aoi like a dork. (❤ฺ￫艸￩) In fact, Hachi’s so adorable I forgot about Tattsun’s grating voice right after the first chapter. He’s pretty clueless about romance, but his feelings are pretty much written all over his face lol. My favorite scene(s) is when he keeps sneaking into the room at night, only to have his dear brother Kikaku drag him out later. (:.oﾟзﾟo:.).:∵ぶっ ..and speaking of families, Hachi’s family background isn’t really explained in this route. Maybe it’s for Kikaku’s route to cover?
