STORM LOVER Kai!! – Ikari Mio

I keep hearing that Mio has the best story in Storm Lover, and I really did enjoy this route. Whether it’s best or not will depend on Takumi’s route, but it’s fun to watch Mio and his unpredictable antics. Even if he lives in his own world. xD

Mio is a strange third year who finds everything troublesome. He’s very sensitive to signs of trouble, always disappearing before he gets dragged into a mess. He moves at his own pace even in conversations, which makes it hard for people to understand what he’s thinking of. Mio is overly health-conscious as well, as he drinks supplements endlessly despite being 100% healthy. He’s skinny, but his stomach is a bottomless blackhole that absorbs everything he wants to eat.

APRIL

On April 3, Yuna takes a walk by the river bank and sees someone standing on the bridge. He’s looking down at the river with a tired expression, and she immediately takes this as a suicide attempt. She quickly stops him saying he shouldn’t commit suicide, but he looks just as surprised — telling her that he was just looking at the fish in the river LOL. He apologizes saying people often worry about him because of his looks and actions, like how a police came to question him just because he was carrying a syringe. Yuna then asks if he’s a high school student, and he answers that he goes to St. Louis High. His name is Ikari Mio, and he’s one year above her.. though he might not look like a senior. Mio then excuses himself saying he’s looking forward to the new school year, and Yuna thinks about how strange he is. She still doesn’t get why he was caught with a syringe. (○´ﾟωﾟ｀):;*.’:;ﾌﾞｯ

Three days later, on April 6, Yuna runs into Mio again at the river bank. Apparently the spring sun lured him all the way out, and he already came all the way here before he knew it. Since Mio has no idea what to do, Yuna then suggests continuing his walk.. though he asks if it means he needs to test how much can he walk before reaching his limit. ヽ(*´ー`*)ﾉ Mio then invites Yuna to join him, and they take a walk together after that. On April 9, Yuna finds Mio sighing in the hallway. She asks if he’s having love problems, but he replies that he’s just worried about his fortune’s rank for today. It bothers him so much he couldn’t sleep during the day. He has no problems sleeping at night though, and she thinks that’s more than enough. xD

On April 15, Yuna and Mio have lunch together in the school cafeteria. As they line up to buy their lunch, he suddenly screams and points out that the cafeteria’s curry is sold out. It might be a trivial problem for Yuna, but it’s something serious for Mio. In fact, he turns blue in the face saying he’s going to die without curry. Until she suggests buying curry udon, that is. Curry udon is just as good for him, and he happily eats it while going “très bien~!” beside her. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵

MAY

[ Date Event ]

On May 1, Yuna finds Mio standing in front of the school. He’s wearing his uniform, and he asks if there’s a disaster drill today since there’s no one at school. She tells him there’s no school since it’s Saturday, and she only came to pick up a document she forgot at school. When Yuna mentions that she’s going shopping now, Mio asks if he can tag along since he’s got nothing to do. In the evening, she sees him again at the station. He’s spacing out with a gloomy look, and when she asks him what’s wrong, he says he’s facing a serious problem — he wants to eat curry! ＼(^o^)／ Two days ago the cafeteria’s curry got sold out again, and it shocked him so much he hasn’t eaten anything ever since. Mio then invites Yuna to eat curry with him, and she agrees since she’s worried about him. She still can’t believe that he survived for two days without eating, but he answers it’s because he also drinks 12 kinds of supplements daily. Yuna asks Mio to eat properly too, and he says he’ll think about it. If it’s not troublesome.

The next day, on May 2, Yuna is taking a walk outside when she sees Mio on the streets. She greets him saying they’re having a nice weather today, and he answers that he gets sleepy during days like this. Yuna then notices that Mio is holding a camera, and he explains that he goes out to take pictures from time to time. He’s going to take some pictures in the park today, and she asks if she can come along. He warns her that he can’t take ghost pictures, but she assures him that she’s not expecting him to take any LOL. Before taking pictures of a tree, he jokes about how someone might have hung himself on the tree before. Next, he goes to take pictures of the doves near the fountain. The doves all fly away when Mio mentions about how they can make a bed with the feather, and Yuna thinks the doves might have sensed danger from his words. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ Mio also explains that he prefers using analog cameras, since he loves the weight and the nervousness of capturing a shutter chance. He doesn’t realize it at all, but Yuna tells him that he looks so happy whenever he’s talking about photography. He asks if it’s creepy when he takes pictures while smiling, but she answers that he looks lively.. and she loves it. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:* Before going home, Yuna asks Mio to let her see the pictures later. He agrees on one condition: let him take her pictures, because he finds her interesting. Then he asks her to be careful on her way home, since criminals and perverts are lurking around all year. xD

On May 10, Mio tells Yuna that he’s going to his favorite place after school. From his description, she gets the impression that it’s a gym.. but it turns out to be a drugstore instead. He says people can be as “brawny” as he is just by drinking supplements, but she tells him that he still needs to work out. That, and he’s skinny with no muscles LOL. He’s thinking of increasing the dose of his daily supplements, but she quickly stops him. xD As they leave the shop, Mio suddenly asks if there’s anything that’s been bothering Yuna lately. When she returns the question, he honestly admits that he’s been thinking about her so much he can’t sleep at night. Mio then asks Yuna to go out with him, and when she says yes, he promises to make her happy. (๑´ლ`๑)♡ The next day, Yuna finds Mio eating multivitamin and amino acid for lunch — just as she expected. She’s worried about his health, so she gives him a lunchbox that she made for him. He blushes saying it’s a lunchbox from his beloved wife, and after he’s done eating, he pulls her to lie down on his lap. He knows she woke up early just to cook everything, so he wants her to get some rest before lunch break is over. He promises to wake her up, but they both fall asleep until the bell rings. It seems like Mio is having a married life dream with Yuna, and she has to stop him from going to back to sleep just to see the continuation. (。-∀-)ﾆﾋｯ♪

[ Date Event ]

On May 15, Mio takes Yuna to go shopping with him. He wants to buy new sports shoes, and he’s looking for a pair that won’t make him tired. He doesn’t like running, so he wants shoes that can prevent his stamina from decreasing. Of course Yuna tells him that’s not how shoes work, and Mio mutters that he needs to compound supplements instead. Σ(・д・ ﾉ)ﾉ Knowing it’d take a whole day for Mio to choose his own shoes, Yuna decides to pick a good pair of sports shoes for him. By the time they’re done shopping, Mio notices that Yuna seems exhausted — mentally. He offers a health tablet made from various natural plants, but she refuses to take it. xD

[ Date Event ]

A week later, on May 23, Yuna invites Mio to go to the amusement park. Their dates are usually slow-paced and laid-back, so she wants them to go wild for once. The first thing he wants to ride is the rollercoaster, and he offers his trusted coenzyme Q10 if she’s scared. It won’t ease her fear, but he thinks it’s better than nothing. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ As the rollercoaster slides down from the peak, Yuna notices that Mio’s expression doesn’t change at all.. but soon he mentions that he’s seeing a light. Beyond it is his grandmother, who passed away five years ago. Mio says he’s going to his grandmother’s place, but Yuna quickly stops him and asks him to return to the living world. Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒(。A。)ｱﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬ!! After getting off the rollercoaster, Mio takes Yuna to ride three more thrill rides. He soon realizes that he’s having so much fun he forgot to take pictures, and he wants to take a lot of pictures starting from the next attraction.. which is the haunted house. As soon as the ghosts appear, he takes out his camera, excitedly mentions that he might be able to see keseran paseran, and starts snapping pictures until the manager appears saying cameras are not allowed. ｡ﾟ(ﾟﾉ∀｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡ｱﾋｬﾋｬ Mio is happy though, because real ghosts tend to blend in with the fake ones in haunted house and he might have taken some pictures of them. He then asks Yuna to confirm this with him once he’s done printing the pictures, though she immediately rejects the idea. (○´ﾟωﾟ｀):;*.’:;ﾌﾞｯ That night, Mio mails Yuna saying he didn’t get any ghost pictures. He got a picture of her instead, and he’s going to treasure it. (๑´ლ`๑)♡

Since the midterms are coming, Mio comes to help Yuna studying in her room on May 25. He keeps staring at her textbook in silence, until eventually he says the statistic chart drawn on the page looks really cool. Like a jellyfish. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ Mio then asks if Yuna has any subjects she doesn’t like, so she tells him that she’s having problems with history. There’s a lot to memorize, and she wants to know if there’s a good way to remember everything. As the solution, he suggests taking supplements with ginkgo extract — they enhance your memory. ヽ(*´ー`*)ﾉ Mio quickly gives up when Yuna asks him for another solution, so in the end she has to study by herself LOL.

JUNE

On June 1, Yuna comes to pick Mio up for lunch. She asks if he doesn’t bring a lunchbox today, and he shows her a really small case saying his lunch is inside. By “food” he means a bunch of vitamin tablets — ranging from calcium to vitamin B tablets. Mio drinks everything before Yuna could say anything, and he refuses when she offers to share her lunch. He asks her not to worry since he also drinks vegetable juice, but soon he suddenly starts coughing up red liquid. Yuna is obviously terrified, and ignoring Mio’s attempt to explain that it’s just tomato juice, she panics and asks people to call the ambulance. Both of them got called to the staff office as the result, where Chihiro scolds them for causing such a stir over a misunderstanding. xD Mio doesn’t get why he has to apologize, but Yuna covers it up saying he’s reflecting upon his mistakes too. Just so Chihiro will let them off the hook.

On June 5, Mio takes Yuna to a horse ranch. It’s their first time seeing horses directly, and he gets so touched upon smelling a horse’s breath.. which smells like grass. ＼(^o^)／ After feeding the horse with some carrots, Mio tries doing horseback riding. At first he feels nervous, but he follows the instructions properly and rides the horse with ease. He then tells Yuna that it feels so different to see the scenery from a horse’s back, and he enjoys the experience so much he refuses to go home LOL. The sun is already setting when Mio finally gets off, and he asks Yuna to ride a horse together next time. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:* Here, the mood turns really good between them. Yuna naturally closes her eyes and waits for Mio to kiss her, but suddenly he goes “oh look, a cow!” and runs off to see the cow. (lll￣□￣)ｶﾞ—ﾝ!! He soon returns and gives her a sudden kiss — because he actually did notice that she wanted to kiss. Yuna then asks him to be more romantic next time, and Mio says he’ll think about it. She’s obviously doubting his definition of romantic, but she still has some expectations in him. xD

The next day, on June 6, Mio asks Yuna to help with his part-time job. The cafe he’s working at has maid uniforms for all of their waitresses, so she has to change into one as well. Yuna can feel people staring at her as she stands beside Mio, but she has no time to feel nervous since they get flooded by the customers’ orders in no time. The shop manager also pays Yuna by the end of the day, though she’s not sure if she should accept it since she couldn’t help much anyway. On the other hand, Mio is happy since he gets to see her in a maid uniform today. It was really embarrassing for her, but he wants her to wear it again and take a picture with him next time. He looks really disappointed when she refuses, and later on he mails her saying he won’t forget her maid look for the rest of his life. (❤ฺ￫艸￩)

On June 11, Yuna sees Mio carrying a stack of books from the library. She notices that he borrowed an incredibly old book, and he says that it’s Yamato-honzo — a book on herbs from the Edo period. He also shows her an old natural history book from the Meiji era, and he explains about how the traditional methods can be applied to the current medical world. Mio then says he’s got more medicine-related materials, and he asks if Yuna wants to hear more details at his house. She actually has no interest and has no idea what he’s talking about, but she agrees since he looks so excited.. and he finds it surprising since everyone always refuses saying it sounds troublesome. Yuna admits that she wouldn’t be interested either if it’s not for Mio, and this makes him so happy he wants to explain more. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ She asks him not to discuss anything too difficult, but he asks her not to worry since he’s going to explain everything she needs to know. Then he drags her to his house lol.

On June 12, Mio goes to visit Yuna’s house. It takes quite a while before he arrives since he watches a blooming flower bud on the way, and she promises to help if he wants to take pictures of the flower later. Upon entering Yuna’s room, Mio comments that having curtains without light-blocking effect will help her to wake up faster. The sunlight awakens people’s brains, so it’d be best if they wake up early and go to bed when the sun sets. When Yuna says he’s highly health-conscious, Mio says it’s strange how he loses weight despite taking various supplements everyday. She knows the reason is none other than those supplements themselves, but he doesn’t seem to notice this at all.

One week later, on June 20, Mio and Yuna visit the church together. He wants to take a picture of the beautiful stained glass, which — according to him — has higher healing power than coenzyme Q10. Yuna says the colorful light shining through makes her want to confess her sins and pray, though she the worst thing she ever did is to doze off in class. Mio replies that it’s normal since he’s usually half asleep in class, and it reminds him that he had a dream about them going to the church before. When she says it’s a dream that comes true since they’re currently in the church, he adds that in his dream, she was wearing a dress and walked beside him. Then he blushes saying it would be nice if it really comes true. (๑´ლ`๑)♡ As Mio takes pictures of the stained glass, Yuna mentions that she made a heart-shaped stained glass cellophane in elementary school. He can faintly recall that he made one too, and he’s pretty sure that it was in the shape of a keseran paseran LOL. Before leaving the church, Mio suddenly remembers something and kisses Yuna on the lips. He’s been planning to kiss her after taking pictures, and he tells her that her kisses are the best “supplement” for him. ｲﾔﾝ☆(*´∀`)σ)))))*3ﾟ),･´.､ Mio then takes a picture of Yuna before kissing her again, asking her to visit the church with him again someday.

JULY

On July 1, Yuna notices how the school’s bunny cage is always so clean. Just when she wonders if the teachers are taking care of the bunnies, Mio suddenly comes with their food — explaining that he’s their caretaker. Mio then invites Yuna to feed them together, and he neatly lines them up before giving them carrots. Apparently he also gave them country rulers’ names, such as “Elizabeth”, “Lincoln”, “Louis”, “Connelly” and “Washington”. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ The last one isn’t too energetic today, and Yuna has to stop Mio from giving a supplement to the poor bunny. Mio’s expression doesn’t really change as he plays with them, but he tells Yuna that it’s fun to take care of the bunnies.

On July 3, Mio takes Yuna to the summer festival. He complains that he’s about to faint among the crowd, but his tension goes up drastically when he sees the goldfish scooping booth. Since it’s Mio’s first time in goldfish scooping, Yuna teaches him how to do it and asks him to give it a try. By the time her scoop breaks, he already caught ten goldfish in his bowl.. and is still aiming for more. Σ(・д・ﾉ)ﾉ!! Mio thinks they have to save as many goldfish as possible since they’re “trapped” in the tank, so Yuna quickly tells him that he got it all wrong. It’s goldfish “scooping / 掬う” and not “saving / 救う”, even though these words might sound the same LOL. Mio insists that he wants to save all the lives in front of his eyes, and it takes quite a while before Yuna manages to clear this misunderstanding. xD In the end Mio only takes a goldfish out of all the things he caught, and he asks if he can name it “Yuna” — promising that he’ll take a good care of it. Yuna can name her goldfish “Mio” in return. Mio also wants it to grow up into a healthy giant, because he wants Yuna — both the real one and the fish — to live for a long time. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:*

The next day, on July 4, Yuna finds Mio hiding at the park. He tells her that he’s searching for something, and it wouldn’t come out if he’s not hiding. Can you guess what he’s looking for? Yes, it’s keseran paseran. ＼(^o^)／ He says they’re shy and hard to find, so he takes her to the library since they can only see them in books. Mio then shows Yuna a cute and fluffy illustration of keseran paseran, with “phantom creature” written in the description. Of course it means they might or might not exist in reality, but he’s 100% determined catch one someday. Later on, Mio mails Yuna saying he wants to see a Tasmanian Devil as well. xD

[ Date Event ]

On July 10, Mio and Yuna go on a beach date. .｡ﾟ+.ヽ(*´∀`*)ﾉﾟ+.ﾟ。. She finds it refreshing to see him under the sun, since he’s clearly not the active type. He also admits that he’s no good at sports, but he’s actually a good swimmer. Yuna then asks Mio to have a race with her, and ignoring his warning, she runs off into the sea without warming-up. Just as he feared, she suddenly gets a leg cramp and drowns on the spot. Yuna later regains consciousness upon hearing Mio’s voice calling out to her, and she finds herself lying on the beach. He explains that he was the one who saved her earlier, and he jokingly says that he gave her a mouth-to-mouth respiration. (๑´ლ`๑)♡ Mio didn’t actually do it since Yuna was still breathing, but then he asks if it’s necessary since she’s turning red. His lips are always ready, so she should tell him if she needs them. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ Mio then adds that he’s also drowning in her love, and he kisses her in order to “save” his life.

AUGUST

It’s raining hard on the night of August 1. Yuna is thinking about the people who are outside when someone rings the doorbell, and she opens the door to find Mio standing in front of her house — drenched from head to toe. The rain started pouring when he’s walking home, and he’s now freezing outside.. so she takes him inside and tells him to get a hot shower. After putting Mio’s wet clothes in the dryer, Yuna goes to deliver another towel for him. She walks into the bathroom without thinking too deeply, but she finds him right in front of the door — obviously naked. Both of them stand in silence until he goes “いやん”, which causes her to apologize in a panic. While still staring at him. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ When he says it’s embarrassing to get stared at, she finally puts down the towel and runs off. Yuna is still blushing when Mio walks out of the bathroom, and after a long silence, Mio asks Yuna to “take responsibility” since she has seen him naked. He wonders if it’d be better if he says “I’m sorry to show you such an unpleasant view” instead, admitting that he learned these phrases from TV and books. Since Yuna says there’s no “correct” response in this situation, Mio decides to change the subject by asking her if his naked body was sexy. ｡ﾟ(ﾟﾉ∀｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡ｱﾋｬﾋｬ Later on he mails her saying he can’t marry anymore since she saw him naked, and he wants her to take responsibility. xD

[ Date Event ]

On August 7, Mio and Yuna have another beach date. After changing into swimsuits, she asks if he notices something from her today. She was actually expecting him to praise her new swimsuit, but he replies with “did you get fat?” instead. (○´ﾟωﾟ｀):;*.’:;ﾌﾞｯ Knowing that it’s a mistake to expect such a compliment from Mio, Yuna decides to let it go and joins him to build an intricate sandcastle on the beach. He instantly fires up and gives her a LOT of complicated commands, but after spending hours under his strict “guidance”, they eventually manage to build a beautiful sandcastle together. Since they can’t bring it home, Mio then says they should take a picture od the sandcastle before going home. Yuna’s new swimsuit got dirty in the sand, but she doesn’t say anything and goes to change clothes before their castle got ruined by the waves. Here, Mio finally notices that Yuna is wearing a new swimsuit. He blushes saying she looks cute in it, and she thinks it’s just like him to praise her in the weirdest timing ever lol. Mio then picks up a seashell from the sand, and he whispers “I love you” when Yuna holds it next to hear ear — saying it’s the sound of the waves. ( *´艸`)ｸｽｯ♪

In the evening of August 14, Mio comes to visit Yuna asking for food. He has nothing at home since his parents are away, and he’s starving right now. When she asks if he can’t cook by himself, it reminds him that cooking can also be a solution. It’s just her face is the first thing that came up on his mind, and that’s why he came to see her. (❤ฺ￫艸￩) Yuna then makes a cod roe pasta for Mio, and when she asks how it tastes, he answers that it tastes like cod roe, butter and oil LOL. She’s afraid that he doesn’t like it, but he says it’s delicious and asks her to open her mouth — shoving a forkful of pasta inside to show her that it’s delicious. Yuna thinks it does taste better than usual, but she knows it’s probably because she’s eating it with Mio. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:*

On August 29, Yuna holds a birthday party for Mio in her room. He’s feeling anemic today, and knowing that he tends to drink supplements instead of eating properly, she buys a lot of nutritious food for him. When Yuna puts a candle on his birthday cake, Mio comments that he actually prefers curry.. but they have no choice since they can’t put a candle on curry. He also mentions that people’s body cells deteriorate as they grow older, but she stops him from saying such depressing stuff and tells him to eat. She then asks if he likes the food, and he answers they taste good because of her. Even if they’re not doing anything special, he feels happy just by spending his birthday with her. (๑´ლ`๑)♡ For his present, Yuna gives Mio a handmade camera case. It’s not perfect since she didn’t have much time to sew it, but he feels really touched — so much that he’d worship it everyday. xD

SEPTEMBER

On September 2, Yuna is bored during class. From the window, she can see Mio’s class having PE in the schoolyard. Running in such a hot weather is like torture to him, so she tries to encourage him by waving at him from afar. After running for a while, he suddenly sees a “bed” and decides to take some rest on it. However, all Yuna sees is that Mio’s running out of the course.. and then he collapses to the ground. Σ(´・ω・`；) This shocks her so much she stands up from her seat, and the teacher scolds her for looking out the window instead of paying attention. During lunch break, Yuna goes to see Mio and asks if he’s alright. He replies that he was just feeling sleepy earlier, and he collapsed from mild anemia. She had to answer a question in class because of this, but she’s glad that he’s okay.

Since Mio doesn’t have work on September 4, he suddenly invites Yuna to the aquarium. He loves the calm atmosphere of the place, and he gets completely absorbed when his favorite fish swims past them. He soon realizes what he’s doing and apologizes for leaving her alone, but she actually loves watching his serious expression. When Yuna asks which one is his favorite fish, Mio points to a yellowtail saying he’s a huge fan of yellowtail teriyaki. She reminds him that they’re in an aquarium and not in a fish market, but he finds it best to watch his favorite food swimming in the aquarium. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵

On September 7, Yuna finds Mio spacing out in the hallway. He feels that he forgot something, but he can’t remember what it is. He didn’t leave anything at home, and his schedule is empty for today. When Yuna says he might had a dream of forgetting something and is still under the effect, Mio remembers that he did see a dream of catching a cold. He lost his voice and failed to convey his love towards her, so now he’s going to express his love as much as possible. Yuna has a bad feeling about this, but before she could escape, Mio takes a deep breath and confesses to her repeatedly in a very loud voice. ヽ(*´ー`*)ﾉ He’s got five confession patterns in mind, but she quickly stops him since people are obviously staring at them. Before returning to class, Mio tells Yuna that he’ll add more variation for next time — because five is not enough. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

OCTOBER

[ Date Event ]

On October 3, Yuna runs into Mio at the station. He’s going to take some pictures at the beach, and she asks if she can come along. He gladly agrees saying it’s fun to spend time with her, since she’s a strange person — just like her opinion about him. xD Yuna walks beside Mio as he takes pictures of the ocean, and she stays quiet so she won’t disturb his concentration. When the sun sets, she sneezes since the wind has gotten colder. She apologizes for disturbing him, but he also feels bad for not realizing how much time has passed. Despite Yuna saying she’s okay, Mio knows she must be tired after waiting beside him for so long. He wants to treat her as an apology, and they decide to buy ice creams on a different day because it’s too cold to eat one right now. Mio also promises to show the pictures to Yuna the next time they go out, but he didn’t take any pictures that can meet her expectations — pictures of ghosts or UFOs. (○´ﾟωﾟ｀):;*.’:;ﾌﾞｯ She assures him that she’s not expecting anything like that, but she’s looking forward to see the pictures he took today. xD

The next day, on October 4, Yuna falls asleep while waiting for Mio in the library. She wouldn’t wake up when he comes to see her, so he leans in and kisses her cheek to wake her up. Yuna nearly jumps out of surprise upon realizing what’s going on, while Mio calmly replies that a kiss is necessary in order to wake the princess up. She then asks what will the princess do after waking up, and he answers that in his story, the princess gets turned on and kisses him. Yuna blushes and panics upon hearing this, so Mio asks her not to make any noise since they’re in the library.. and then he kisses her again. ﾟ+.(*ﾉωヾ*)ｬﾝ♪+ﾟ

On October 9, Mio takes Yuna to view scarlet maple leaves in the mountain. It’s much more beautiful than they expected, and he immediately starts snapping pictures of the scenery. Since he’s fully concentrating, he doesn’t respond when she talks to him. This leaves her with absolutely nothing to do, but she decides to watch over him instead of disturbing his hobby. Yuna finds it so comfortable to hear all the sounds around her, and eventually she falls asleep — only waking up when she hears a shutter sound in front of her face. Mio says it’s interesting to see her sleeping, and he admits that he took a picture of her sleeping face. Yuna asks him to delete it from his camera, but Mio refuses to erase such a beautiful picture. Especially since the way she drools is so artistic. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ He thinks the picture will be his greatest masterpiece, and he wants to print it out as a poster. xD

[ Date Event ]

On October 23, Yuna invites Mio to play bowling together. He wants to see her before the sun does, so he goes to the station when the sun comes out and waits there until she comes. Σ(・∀・；) It’s actually Mio’s first time bowling, and noticing that he looks worried, Yuna tells him to throw the ball like everyone around them. He says he understands, but then he crouches down and rolls the ball that way. He’s not sure why he does that either. It’s just he feels like it would be the best position, which is proven true when he gets a strike despite the ball’s slow rolling speed. .｡ﾟ+.ヽ(*´∀`*)ﾉﾟ+.ﾟ。. At first Yuna thinks he just got lucky, but Mio continues getting multiple strikes until he eventually hits the score of 250 — like a pro. Yuna is shocked that she lost to Mio, but in the end she doesn’t really mind since he looks so happy. After leaving the bowling place, Mio blushes saying he wants to push Yuna down like the bowling pins. It’s a strike to her heart! (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ

NOVEMBER

On November 2, Mio asks Yuna to eat the cookies he baked in home economics class. The first one is a chicken-shaped cookie, and when she points out that said “chicken” has a crest, he replies that it’s a bit overgrown. The next cookie is in the shape of a bunny with blood around its mouth, which is caused by his failed attempt to put jam on the bunny’s mouth. The third cookie has the shape of a dragon, complete with all the intricate details. Yuna doesn’t get how Mio can shape such an high-quality cookie, and yet failing at coloring the bunny’s mouth with jam LOL. The cookies taste delicious though, and Yuna feels happy that Mio made them just for her. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:*

[ Date Event ]

On November 3, Mio takes Yuna on a date to the aquarium. There’s a show today, and he wants to participate so they can pet the dolphins and seals. When the trainer asks if anyone wants to pet the animals, Mio quietly raises his hand and takes Yuna to approach the pool. They have a good time feeding the dolphins and asking them to do tricks, but the moment he shakes hand with a seal.. he completely stops moving. Mio just stares straight at the seal for ten whole minutes, and somehow Yuna can see that the seal is really troubled since he won’t let go. He eventually lets go when the trainer reminds him that there are other people queueing after him, but he’s clearly not satisfied. Even after leaving the aquarium, he’s still going on about how he wants to hold hands with the seal for one more hour. Yuna lets Mio hold her hand in return, and he happily says her hands are just as good as the seal’s. He could only hold the seal’s hands for ten minutes, but he’s going to hold hers for an hour. After they return home though, he mails her saying he might have fallen in love with the seal. Σ(｡・´_`・｡)ｴ-

Two days later, on November 5, Yuna finds Mio with all sorts of pictures spread all over his desk. He tells her that staring at the camera lens makes him feel calm inside, since he feels absorbed into the camera. Yuna doesn’t understand that sensation and probably will never do, but she thinks the pictures Mio takes are beautiful. She notices that he only takes pictures of sceneries or animals though, and he admits that he doesn’t take as much pictures of humans. He then invites her to see more pictures at his house, and that night he sends her a thank you mail for praising his pictures. The compliment makes him happy, so he’s going to give her a picture as a sign of gratitude. ヽ(。・ω・。)ﾉ

In the evening of November 6, Mio suddenly asks Yuna to see him at the park. From there, he takes her to climb through the small mountain path behind the park. It’s really dark and she feels scared since he won’t explain anything, but soon she can see the beautiful starry sky above. Mio found the place not too long ago, and he wanted to share it with Yuna since they can rarely see the stars in Tokyo. As he leans closer to her, Mio explains the names of the stars to Yuna. He says he doesn’t know much, but he loves the stars and wanted to see them with her. Yuna suddenly gets nervous when Mio says he’s got something to tell her, which turns out to be “I’m hungry” — complete with the sound of his stomach grumbling. It’s hard for him to stand straight, and that’s why he’s leaning on her. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ Of course this betrays whatever romantic expectations Yuna had in mind, but she decides to treat Mio to dinner today. It’s to thank him for the wonderful scenery.

On November 20, Mio suddenly comes to play with Yuna at night. He bought a pack of cards along the way, so she takes him to play trump in her room. They do everything ranging from old maid to poker, and she loses to him in every single one of them. Mio then says that he’s really good in trump, and he shows Yuna the proof by shuffling the cards, spreading them on the floor, and turning everything into Ace of Hearts. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ He explains that tricks like this are easy once you get used to it, and this makes her realize that he might be cheating to win all of their games. When she gives him the ( ಠ_ಠ ) look, he calmly replies with “it’s not cheating if you don’t get caught” while maintaining his poker face. xD

DECEMBER

On December 4, Yuna and Mio have a relaxing date at the park. It’s getting colder recently, and Mio gives his muffler to Yuna when she sneezes. She’s afraid that he might catch a cold without it, but then he goes to buy baked potatoes to make sure they stay warm. He also makes sure they get the biggest potatoes available, and she watches as he struggles to eat the hot potato. When she asks if he can’t stand hot food, he denies it saying he simply doesn’t like anything hot.. which means that it’s true. xD Mio then notices that Yuna is smiling, and he asks her what’s wrong. They don’t really do anything special today, but somehow she feels all warm and fuzzy inside. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:*

[ Date Event ]

The next day, on December 5, Mio accompanies Yuna to the game center. There she notices white and fluffy keychains which looks really similar to his favorite creature ever — keseran paseran. ヽ(*´ー`*)ﾉ Mio instantly gets excited upon seeing them, and Yuna decides to try getting them from the catcher. He encourages her to do her best, adding that he’ll guard her back with all his might. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ Yuna manages to take two of the keychains, and she gives one to Mio so he has something to hold onto until he can find the real keseran paseran. He gasps in shock as he receives the keychain, and he thanks her saying he’ll keep the keychain as a family treasure. ｡ﾟ(ﾟﾉ∀｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡ｱﾋｬﾋｬ

For Christmas, Mio invites Yuna to have a party at his house. His parents are away, so it’s just for the two of them. He already made all sorts of food for the party, admitting that he learned cooking at his workplace just for today. Yuna is amazed at how delicious they are, and this makes Mio happy since he wanted her to spend Christmas with his home cooking. After they’re done eating dinner, Mio suddenly turns off the light and surprises Yuna with a strawberry Christmas cake that he baked for her. She then notices that his hands are covered by band-aids, and he admits that he failed a few times while making the cake. Mio then asks Yuna to blow the candles, since he wants to take a picture of her with the cake. He wishes her a Merry Christmas, and she can feel the sweet taste of whipped cream when he kisses her. ♪ﾟ+.ｏ(*萌´д`从´д`萌*)ｏ.+ﾟ♪

JANUARY

On January 2, Mio shows Yuna the pictures he took before. He has so much pictures they filled his entire bag, but each one of them looks so beautiful and alive. Even though she doesn’t know much about photography, his works are always sparkling in her eyes. When Yuna says his works are just like a pro’s, Mio blushes saying he doesn’t know how to react if she’s praising him that much. (๑´ლ`๑)♡ She also notices that he’s learning a lot of stuff recently, and she wonders if he’s aiming to be a pro. However, he replies that he doesn’t have any plans to go that far. Photography is simply a hobby for him.

ENDING A

Since Mio’s works have high quality, Yuna suggests joining a photography contest. It was featured in a magazine not too long ago, and the only requirement is that the participant has to be an amateur photographer who never published his works before. At first Mio refuses saying his pictures aren’t good enough, but Yuna asks him to give it a try. If he doesn’t win, she’s going to give up and will never mention contests anymore. When he asks why she wants him to join the contest that much, she answers it’s because she’s a fan of his works. She wants people to see the beautiful pictures he takes, and he will be able to test his own skills through the contest. Yuna promises to help however she can, so Mio eventually agrees to give it a try. He’s going to need an object for the contest entry, and so the next time they go out, it will be a trip to search for a nice object.

Just as they’ve planned, Mio and Yuna go to the mountain on February 6. He wants to take some pictures before having lunch, so she decides to watch over him from afar. He feels bad thinking she’ll get bored, but she assures him that she’ll be fine. Yuna says she actually enjoys waiting for Mio, so he doesn’t have to worry about her. Not too long after Mio walks away, Yuna hears a shutter sound behind her. When she turns around, she finds a man she has never seen before. She apologizes and asks if she’s in the way, but he smiles saying he wanted to take a picture of her. The man then introduces himself as Oohara Shiki, currently in training to become a pro photographer. He apologizes for taking her picture without permission, but he couldn’t resist since he finds her beautiful. It turns out Shiki is going to participate in the photography contest too — which means he’s Mio’s rival — and he asks if Yuna is willing to be the model for his contest entry. Yuna immediately refuses, but Shiki doesn’t give up until finally Mio returns and asks what business he has with his girlfriend. Mio then asks Shiki to stop bothering Yuna, and Shiki leaves since Mio is glaring at him.. but he leaves his business card and makes it clear that he’s not giving up on Yuna. If they meet again, he will convince her to become his model.

After Shiki leaves, Yuna explains what just happened to Mio. She doesn’t get why he wants to take her picture, because there’s nothing special about her. When Mio asks if he can keep Shiki’s business card, Yuna asks if he gets fired up now that he found a rival. He’s not sure if he’s “fired up” or not, but he does know that Shiki is indeed his rival — in a lot of ways. Mio doesn’t want to lose in the contest, and he will never hand Yuna to anyone. (๑´ლ`๑)♡ Yuna doesn’t catch this since Mio said it in a quiet voice, but he only says it’s nothing and invites her to have lunch instead. That night, Mio mails Yuna saying Shiki was good-looking. He wonders if girls prefer handsome guys like that, but he won’t lose. ( *´艸`)ｸｽｯ♪

One week later, on February 13, Mio still hasn’t found an object for his entry. He’s been traveling to various places with Yuna, but he can’t find any object that he likes. Yuna tries to cheer him up when they discuss about this in a cafe, but Mio is obviously feeling down.. and things only get worse when Shiki suddenly appears to greet them. Shiki has been taking some pictures as well, and he shows some of his best works to them. Even though Mio’s pictures are just as beautiful, Yuna notices that Shiki’s works have something different. All of his pictures bring the objects to life, but he says there are people who are better than him. This causes Mio to feel even worse, and after a short silence, he leaves them to wash his hands. Yuna isn’t sure if she should chase after him since he might need time to think alone, and Shiki uses this chance to confess to her. Σ(-`Д´-ﾉ；)ﾉ?! He fell in love with her at the first sight, and he wants her to go out with him if he wins the contest. She doesn’t have to answer right away, but he doesn’t have any intentions to lose — both in the contest and in love. Noticing that Mio has quietly returned, Shiki tells him to be prepared and leaves before Yuna could refuse.

After leaving the cafe, Yuna follows Mio as he takes pictures in different locations. They take the train all the way to the beach, but he remains completely silent along the way. Eventually he reveals that he overheard Shiki’s confession earlier, and he starts comparing Shiki to himself. He mentions that Shiki is mature, manly and assertive — unlike him. Mio doesn’t feel that he can win against such a person — both as a photographer and as a man — and he thinks it can’t be helped if Yuna falls in love with Shiki. However, Mio then holds Yuna’s sleeve saying he doesn’t want to hand her over. He feels peaceful beside her, and no one can replace her in his heart. Even if she falls in love with another man, he will continue loving her. Knowing that Mio is jealous and got the wrong impression, Yuna quickly stops him saying he’s the only one she loves. She wants to be with him too, and no one can take his place in her heart either. Upon hearing this, Mio blushes and hugs Yuna. He’s about to say something to her, but then he stops himself and says he wants to take a picture of her. Yuna doesn’t think her picture would be interesting, but she agrees and lets Mio take a picture of her with the setting sun as the background. He feels that it’s the best picture he ever took, and he can’t wait to print it out. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:*

On Valentine’s Day, Yuna isn’t sure about what she should give to Mio. It’s hard to predict his reaction, so she doesn’t know if she should make a chocolate for him or buy a sold one. When Yuna asks if he knows what day is it today, Mio answers that it’s Benjamin Baillaud‘s birthday. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ He also mentions David Hilbert‘s death day before eventually arriving at the right answer, and she tells him that normally Valentine’s Day will be the first thing that pops up in people’s minds LOL. When she gives him a handmade chocolate, the first thing he asks is if there’s something dangerous inside the wrapping. (○´ﾟωﾟ｀):;*.’:;ﾌﾞｯ Yuna has to explain the ingredients and process since Mio seems curious, but she’s relieved when he says the chocolate tastes good. He didn’t have any interest in anything other than nutrition, so he never knew that chocolates are so delicious. Even if she used a simple recipe, Mio knows Yuna’s chocolate is delicious because it’s filled with her love.. and it’s also love that makes him say these romantic words. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

On the same day, Mio informs Yuna that he already has a picture for his entry. She asks him for more details, but he won’t tell her about which picture he submitted. The photography contest holds an open fair for the entries on March 6, and Mio still won’t tell Yuna anything even after they arrive at the hall. As they walk around looking at the results, they eventually learn that Shiki won the contest. His entry received the gold medal, and it’s being displayed in the most prominent place. Mio is clearly shocked, and he runs off saying he needs to cool down. Before Yuna could chase after him, Shiki comes out to greet her. He asks if she already saw “the picture”, and she says yes thinking he’s referring to his own entry. However, Shiki then says he completely lost to Mio. Noticing that Yuna hasn’t seen it yet, he shows her the location of Mio’s entry.. which turns out to be a picture of her. It’s the picture he took at the beach — titled “my precious one”. Even though it’s didn’t win the gold medal, it actually did win an award. The picture clearly shows how Yuna looks in Mio’s eyes, and Shiki explains that the picture must be a confession from Mio to Yuna. He can tell that Mio loves Yuna much more than he does, so he admits defeat knowing he wouldn’t be able to take such a picture. Not even if he has better object and skills, because Mio took Yuna’s picture with all his heart. Shiki has no choice but to give up after seeing this, and he leaves after wishing Yuna to be happy with Mio.

After parting with Shiki, Yuna goes to search for Mio and eventually finds him at the beach. He’s surprised that she manages to find him, but she knows she’d find him here. After all, it’s the setting of his contest entry. When he asks if she’s not staying with Shiki, she answers that Shiki admitted defeat after seeing his entry. Since Mio ran away before seeing his own entry, Yuna tells him that he won an award too. Mio apologizes for submitting her picture without asking, but Yuna thanks him saying the picture is really beautiful. When Yuna mentions what Shiki said earlier, Mio blushes saying he’s a poor talker.. so he can only express his feelings through the pictures he takes. He’s aware that he’s unreliable and strange despite being the older one, but he wants her to stay with him from now on. He wants to be the only one who can take her pictures. Yuna replies that he loves Mio the way he is, so her answer should be obvious. .｡ﾟ+.ヽ(*´∀`*)ﾉﾟ+.ﾟ。. Mio then thanks Yuna and hugs her, but just before their lips touch, he suddenly notices a hermit crab and runs off to chase after it. ＼(^o^)／ A few minutes late.r, he returns, kisses her on the lips, and takes another picture of her. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑

In the epilogue, Mio has gotten even more absorbed in photography than before. Yuna complains about how he keeps playing with his camera even at her house, and he apologizes saying he wants to improve his skills. She thinks his skills are good enough since he already won an award, but he wants to get better so she’ll look even more beautiful in his pictures — because she’s the most precious person in his life. (❤ฺ￫艸￩) Upon hearing this, Yuna suddenly pulls Mio closer and kisses him. He says it’s unfair to give him a surprise kiss, but she replies that he’s always surprising her with unexpected words.. so he should allow her to do this much for today. When Mio says it’s okay because he doesn’t hate getting her surprises, Yuna laughs saying he’s also the most precious person for her — now and forever.

ENDING B

Yuna asks Mio to keep taking pictures from now on. He agrees saying he wants to visit different places as well, taking all sorts of pictures.. with her. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:* Mio then asks if Yuna has caught cold since she’s turning red in the face, but it’s obviously because she didn’t saw that coming. When she asks if he has any places he wants to visit next time, he answers that it’s Mount Saint-Michel. For now he can only see it in natural heritage DVDs, but one day he wants to see the mountain with her. Knowing that Mio might really take her there, Yuna discreetly makes a plan to learn more about Mount Saint-Michel later. xD

On February 6, Mio shows all of his latest pictures to Yuna. He wants to buy album to keep everything organized, but they will have to select the best ones only because he has a LOT of pictures. She asks him not to put her pictures in the album since she finds it embarrassing, but he firmly refuses. Her pictures always cheer him up, so he wants to keep every single one of them in the album. Yuna tries to argue by saying it’s unfair that Mio doesn’t have as much pictures of himself, but he says it can’t be helped since he’s the one taking the pictures. Besides, he prefers taking pictures of her than getting his own pictures taken. She keeps insisting that her pictures are not good, but soon enough Shiki appears behind them — commenting that the pictures are nice. Shiki is impressed by Mio’s works, especially after learning that he’s an amateur, and he invites Mio to work in their studio. He can tell that Mio has talent in photography, and he can make arrangements if Mio is interested to take an apprenticeship in their studio. They’re working with pro photographers, so Mio should be able to improve his skills in photography.

At first Mio looks reluctant, but Yuna encourages him to take the offer. She knows he loves photography, so this will be a great chance for him to improve. He eventually agrees to give it a try, and Shiki says he’ll contact him for more details after informing his teacher. Shiki also leaves his business card for them, and since Mio doesn’t have one.. he tries to write his own contact details on the cafe’s napkin. Yuna quickly stops him though, telling him to send it via phone instead. ｡ﾟ(ﾟﾉ∀｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡ｱﾋｬﾋｬ Before leaving, Shiki nonchalantly takes their bill and pays for their food. Mio says he wants to be a “smart gentleman” like Shiki, and he wants to do his best in photography for Yuna’s sake too. She’s happy that he can study photography under a pro, and she’s looking forward to see what kind of pictures he’s going to take from now on.
Later on, Mio mails Yuna saying he’s really nervous and might spit out flames from his butt. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵

On February 13, Mio calls Yuna saying he has a shooting today. It’s been a few days since he started working in the studio, and he’s been traveling to various locations with Shiki and other photographers. As they provide assistance in the shooting, they can also take their own pictures and exchange opinions regarding their works. Today’s shooting location is the beach, and Mio invites Yuna to come and watch him work. While he usually works at his own pace, Mio is really busy following his teacher’s instructions today. Yuna watches from afar as the photographers take pictures from different angles, which makes her realize that working as a photographer is actually quite hard. During their break, everyone invites both Mio and Yuna to see the pictures they took. However, the teacher mentions that Mio’s pictures are always lacking. He has improved a lot ever since he started working with them, but his pictures are inferior to Shiki’s. The teacher tells him that a photographer’s job is to express his feelings through the camera lens, leaving those feelings in their pictures. Mio’s pictures are missing these feelings, and the teacher wants him to think about this before their next shooting. Otherwise he won’t be able to move forward as a photographer.

Mio obviously feels down because of this, and he remains quiet as he walks home with Yuna. After apologizing for showing such an unpleasant view earlier, he explains that he’s always under strain at work. His teacher thought he might be able to relax if his girlfriend is around, and that’s why he invited her to come along today.. but apparently that’s not the case. He’s aware that he’s not improving the way Shiki does, and it bothers him so much he keeps making mistakes. Mio doesn’t know what he should do in this situation, and Yuna wonders if there’s anything she can do to help him. That night Mio mails Yuna saying he feels irritated because he wants to do his best for her sake. ｡･ﾟ･(*ﾉД`*)･ﾟ･。

From there, Mio falls into a slump and always looks gloomy even when he’s with Yuna. On March 6, she tries to cheer him up by taking him to play in various places — ranging from the amusement park to the mountain — but he’s still feeling down until she finally takes him to the beach. She asks if he remembers how he took pictures at the beach until the sun started setting, and he says he does. Back then he got so absorbed in taking pictures, and he felt guilty afterwards for leaving her alone for so long. Mio then asks if Yuna is alright since it’s pretty cold today, and when she returns the question at him, he says he’s fine because he’s properly equipped. Yuna laughs upon hearing this, and Mio looks taken aback for a second.. then suddenly, he takes out his camera and asks if he can take a picture of her. He finally smiles when she asks him to make her look beautiful, and he comes to realize something as he starts taking pictures of her. On their way home, Mio tells Yuna that he might not be able to become a pro photographer. He shows her some of his pictures that got praised by the pro photographers, and she realizes that every single one of them has her in it. After taking Yuna’s pictures earlier, Mio finally realized what his teacher meant by “expressing one’s feelings through the camera lens” — he needs her to complete his pictures. He can’t express his feelings towards anything but her, so it might be impossible for him to become a pro photographer.

As they walk along the river bank, Mio asks if Yuna remembers about their first encounter. Back then he was standing on the hand railing, and he climbs up to the same place — confessing that he loves her. It’s a very awkward, Mio-like confession, but his feelings clearly come across. Mio then asks how Yuna feels towards him, and he bugs her until she eventually answers that she loves him too. (๑´ლ`๑)♡ He jumps down asking if she’s willing to take a picture with him, and she replies that she’d be happy to. They take a picture together after that, with Mio hugging Yuna’s shoulder. Mio and Yuna didn’t have many pictures together up until now, but their two-shot pictures will keep increasing from now on. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:*

In the epilogue, Mio and Yuna are organizing their pictures together. She recognizes one of them as a picture from when they went flower-viewing together, and he shows her another one from their hot spring trip. Ever since his second confession at the river bank, Mio and Yuna have been taking two-shot pictures whenever they go on a date. Mio has become more honest with his feelings too, as he often asks Yuna to take pictures in specific locations. He’s looking at a picture from their ski trip when she reminds him that they need to go out soon, or else they’re going to miss their train. He actually wants to organize their pictures before going out, but she hurries him out of the house — grabbing their belongings along the way. They’re going on a trip today, and they’re going to take another picture together. Mio and Yuna grow closer as they take more pictures, and their albums will always be filled with their happy pictures from now on. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑

No one can deny the fact that Mio is weird, but I have to admit that he’s so adorable. Like the way he sees everything from an entirely different point of view, or how he kisses Yuna when she least expected it. Or his shower event in summer. (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ Most of Mio’s responses don’t make sense and he has an unhealthy obsession with keseran paseran, but he really loves Yuna and does his best to make her happy. He even hurt his fingers to cook for their Christmas party, and his mail in ending B is just so sweet. ﾟ+o｡ﾄﾞｷｭ―(*ﾟдﾟ*)―ﾝ｡o+ﾟ Mio’s route also feels more laid-back compared to the others so far, and it’s a nice change of pace if you need a break from all the heavy dramas.
