No goatee! No goatee! Souya has no goatee! .｡ﾟ+.ヽ(*´∀`*)ﾉﾟ+.ﾟ。. I’m so happy that you can take off his goatee in the gallery, since Souya looks so much cuter without it. His route feels much more enjoyable now that he’s clean-shaven. xD
Souya is one of Yuna’s classmates in 2-C. He’s really active and loves all kinds of outdoor activities, so the beach is a perfect place for him. Aside from joining the beach volley competition, he’s also having a good time surfing and even fishing at the pier. Even with all these activities, Souya is still looking out for Yuna and makes sure she won’t get into danger. The sound of nature is the best for him, so he gets a lot of inspiration to write songs during the trip.

During the beach volley session, Yuna cheers for Souya. He happily says he’ll do a spike for her, and Chihiro helps him by tossing the ball while sighing in jealousy. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ The ball ends up flying towards the wrong direction though, so after the match, Souya sadly says now Yuna knows about how terrible he is at controlling his aim. He apologizes for failing so much, but she feels happy since he really did his best for her.

Knowing that Souya wants to go surfing, Yuna tells him to ride the waves as she watches from the beach. He excitedly runs off to get a surfboard and waits for a nice wave to come.. but even after a while, the sea remains calm. He can feel that a nice one is going to come soon, and he wonders if the waves are teasing him because his motive is impure. Souya admits that he actually wants to show his best in front of Yuna, so he thinks he might have offended the sea god because of this. xD Upon hearing this, Yuna closes her eyes and prays to the sea god — asking him to send a good wave for Souya. Just then the sea breeze suddenly starts blowing, and noticing that a big wave is coming, Souya asks Yuna to keep her eyes on him as he runs off to ride the wave. He promises to show her the best summer dance, and he’s so good at surfing that everyone is staring at him — even the local surfers. When she tells him about this, he blushes saying it’s all thanks to the wave she called. She’s his goddess. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

As they play fireworks together, Yuna asks if Souya notices that most songs about fireworks have sad lyrics. He says it must be because fireworks will disappear after a while, but when her fireworks die out.. he asks her not to look so sad and lights up a new one for her. Souya then promises to make a song about fireworks for Yuna, but it’ll make her smile since the lyrics will be happy. He doesn’t want her to be sad, so he’s going to write a lot of songs for her.

On her way to get a drink, Yuna notices Souya washing his face in the bathroom. She decides to surprise him from behind, and it shocks him so much he shaves off his goatee by accident. ｲｴ━━ヽ(★´д`)ﾉ━━ｲ!! Apparently the goatee a part of his “identity,” so he wails in horror and starts crying over his cleanly shaved chin. When Yuna apologizes, Souya sadly mutters that he feels like a meatless curry without his beloved goatee.. but he admits that he also loves her cute way of surprising him. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ Souya doesn’t know how to live without his goatee, but he instantly lets go when Yuna says he looks handsome even without his goatee. Besides, he loves her much more than his goatee. (๑´ლ`๑)♡
..and so the world turns beautiful now that Souya has no goatee. For me, anyway. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

Yuna is feeling sleepy today, and she oversleeps until Souya comes to wake her up. She won’t open her eyes no matter what, so he tries waking her up by acting out various roles — starting from a younger brother to a butler. (○´ﾟωﾟ｀):;*.’:;ﾌﾞｯ He gets tired in no time since she doesn’t give any reaction, so he decides to wake her up with a kiss instead.. which finally works. She’s surprised to see him in her room, and he asks her not to laze off since they’re not at home. When Yuna asks why he came to wake her up, Souya replies it’s because he doesn’t want other people to see her sleeping. He thinks it’s cute how she oversleeps though, and now he knows a nice way to wake her up. It’s a good practice for him, since he’s planning to spend every morning with her in the future. (❤ฺ￫艸￩) Souya also brought breakfast to Yuna’s room, and she thinks about how they’re behaving like newlyweds as they eat breakfast together.

Noticing that both Yuna and Souya are free, Yuto decides to provide some entertainment by taking them to ride a banana boat. .｡ﾟ+.ヽ(*´∀`*)ﾉﾟ+.ﾟ。. After a while the banana boat starts rocking due to the speed and waves, and Yuna is hugging Souya before she knew it. When she apologizes for clinging to him, he asks her to keep holding onto him. He will always protect her, so she can always rely on him anytime. He also says men grow stronger to protect women — especially the woman they love. ヽ(*´ー`*)ﾉ Yuna doesn’t feel scared thanks to Souya’s warmth, but he admits that he feels scared since he’s so captivated by her beauty. Then he asks her to hug him even tighter, so he won’t drown in fear. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

When everyone goes to the summer festival, Souya invites Yuna to walk around with him. Soon she notices a goldfish-scooping booth, and he excitedly takes her to catch some goldfish together. She keeps failing to scoop anything from the tank, but he tells her not to worry. He’ll catch them for her, since scooping goldfish should be much easier than picking up girls.. right? Not exactly. Souya keeps failing too despite his confidence, but he refuses to give up since he already made a promise with Yuna. He spends a LONG time trying to catch a goldfish — so much that she asks him to stop — but he eventually manages to scoop one on his last attempt. When Yuna tells him that he didn’t have to go that far just for a goldfish, Souya answers that he’ll always keep the promises he made to his girlfriend. He’s aware that he looks like a frivolous flirt, so he wants to prove his seriousness through his actions. Souya then asks if his feelings reached her, and when Yuna says yes, he kisses her and says he loves her. (๑´ლ`๑)♡
[ 10:00 PM ]
Before Yuna goes to bed, Souya comes to visit her room — asking her to let him in before the teachers find out. He asks if it’s okay for her to bring him inside, but he’s happy since it means she trusts him. He kisses her and asks why does she tempt him so much, and when she tries to protest, he asks her not to be so loud since someone might hear them from outside. Just as he feared, soon they hear footsteps approaching her room.. so he quickly takes her to hide under the blanket. The footsteps turns out to be Chihiro’s, but since Yuna doesn’t respond when he calls her, he’s convinced that she’s asleep and leaves after turning off the light. When she tries to get out of the blanket, Souya quickly stops her since Chihiro might return to check. He asks if she feels embarrassed being so close to him, and when she returns the question, he replies that he feels calm and comfortable. He wonders if they should spend the night together, but drops the idea since it’d be bad if the teachers found out. They should pick up the continuation when they go on their own trip, so they can be alone without anyone to disturb them. (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ
It’s the last day of the seaside school, and Yuna feels sad since the trip is coming to an end. On the other hand, Souya says they should enjoy the last day and takes her to play together. The teachers allow them to go home by themselves, so they can make memories together before taking the train home. Souya then informs Yuna about an outdoor festival nearby, and he invites her to watch it since his senior’s band is performing there. At first Souya is excites since the festival is so lively, but when his senior’s band starts performing, he’s surprised to see how much they have improved. After the festival is over, Souya tells Yuna that he won’t be able to win against his senior’s band. She notices that he’s been acting weird ever since his senior’s band stepped onto the stage, and she asks him to tell her what’s wrong. He tries to hide it by saying he’s okay, but he eventually gives in when she tells him that she’s worried.
Souya takes Yuna to a park after that, where he tells her that he lost confidence after seeing his senior’s performance. He feels inferior in every single way, but tried to hide it since he didn’t want her to see him in such a state. It’s the first time she’s ever seen him feeling down, and he asks if she’s disappointed in him.. but she actually feels happy that he relies on her during times like this. Souya can feel that Yuna’s protecting him in her own way, and he smiles as he thanks her — telling her that he’s glad to have her as his girlfriend. He asks her to encourage him whenever he feels down, and he promises to do the same.. because a couple should support each other at all times. ♪ﾟ+.ｏ(*萌´д`从´д`萌*)ｏ.+ﾟ♪ Now that Souya has regained his confidence, he tells Yuna that he’s got a clear vision after seeing his senior’s performance. It’s his turn to improve, and he’s going to perform on the same stage one day. Souya asks Yuna to watch over him — promising that he’ll take her to a bigger stage in the future — and she answers that she’ll be waiting. Before going home, they decide to make memories by riding the swings together. Souya says his feelings always stay the same, and he jumps off the swing while yelling “I love youuu!” When Yuna does the same and jumps off from her swing, he catches her so she won’t fall. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ As he hugs her, he says he loves her and asks her to stay with him forever.
In the epilogue, Yuna spends the last moment of summer vacation in Souya’s house. It turns out he receives two copies of the summer outdoor festival DVD from his senior, and he gives one to her. As they watch the DVD together, Souya mentions that his senior is really good while he still has a long way to go. Yuna is worried, but he tells her it’s okay. Just as he promised, he’ll tell her if he’s feeling down. The festival also reminds them of their confession at the park, and Souya asks if Yuna wants to do the continuation of that confession. He wants to touch her because he loves her, and he wants to become one with her if she allows him to. ｷｬ━☆.:ﾟ+｡(ﾉ∀＼*)ﾟ+｡:.━!!! When Yuna says she feels the same, Souya kisses her and says they’re the best couple in the world.. then the screen fades to white.

Yuna cheers for Souya during the beach volley session, and he instantly gets fired up to receive support from a girl. Wakana also wishes him good luck, and this leads to Takashi sending a “jealousy serve” from the other side of the court.. which unfortunately flies off towards Yuna instead. Before the ball hits her, Souya quickly blocks the ball to protect her. Wakana rages at Takashi since it’s really dangerous, but Souya asks her not to blame the poor guy. Besides, he’ll always protect Yuna no matter what happens. It doesn’t seem like Souya is looking at her in a romantic way, but Yuna is still happy with his actions.

When everyone goes to the rocky shore together, Yuna decides to explore the place with Mio and Rikka. Soon they find a steep cliff nearby, and Mio tries to stay away knowing it’s dangerous. Yuna tries to assure him that it’s fine, but then she slips and falls off the cliff — drowning into the sea below. It’s hard for her to recognize directions underwater, and she’s running out of breath when she hears the sound of someone jumping into the water. Before she can figure out what’s going on, she’s already back on the beach with Souya by her side. When she thanks him for saving her, he says he’s not happy because she walked into danger on purpose. She says she was just playing around looking for thrills, but he tells her that she’s a girl — she’s not supposed to play dangerous games. He’s worried since she could have died if he didn’t save her, but instead of apologizing, she snaps back at him saying she can swim too. ( ಠ_ಠ ) Yuna also says she didn’t ask to be saved, so eventually Souya just gives up and leaves. She still thinks she’s right even after he’s gone, only realizing her mistake when Takashi and Takumi tell her that Souya was really worried about her. When Yuna chases after him and apologizes, he also apologizes for yelling at her earlier. He promises that he’ll always come to save her, but he asks her not to jump into danger on purpose anymore.

Yuna plays fireworks with Souya, who happily says he gets inspiration for songs whenever he’s playing with fireworks. When she says she doesn’t know how it feels to have an original melody playing in her head, he says it’s okay because he’ll write songs for her — songs that fit her image. Souya invites Yuna to play fireworks only with him next time, and she agrees. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:*

After dinner, everyone goes to play old maid together. Yuna is the first one who safely discards all of her cards, but after a long, intense card battle with Kyousuke, Souya comes out as the unfortunate victim. Aside from giving him a mocking applause, they also ask Yuna — the first winner — to choose a punishment game for poor Souya. The options are: 1. buy a juice for everyone; 2. no punishment (out of pity); and 3. shave off his goatee! Of course I picked the 3rd one because as much as I love Souya, that goatee has to go. Souya tries to resist, but he can’t do anything with Kyousuke and Takumi holding him in place.. and he screams in horror as Takashi shaves the goatee off his chin. ｲｴ━━ヽ(★´д`)ﾉ━━ｲ!! When Yuna takes a morning walk, she finds Souya at the woods behind the pension. He’s standing still with his eyes closed, and she decides to surprise him from behind.. but he’s not surprised at all. When she asks if he knew that she’s nearby, he says that he can tell the location of the girl he likes. (๑´ლ`๑)♡ She thought he wouldn’t notice since he seemed to be concentrating, but he replies that it’s the opposite. He was concentrating to listen to all the sounds around him, and that’s why he noticed her coming. Souya then asks Yuna to try it too, but since she can’t hear any sounds, he covers her eyes and tells her to listen to the sound of nature. People’s sight always picks up all the unnecessary things around them, and with her eyes covered, she can finally hear the sounds of the rustling trees and the chirping birds. Souya also mentions that he can hear the sweet sound of Yuna’s breath, and it’s a wonderful music to his ears. ｲﾔﾝ☆(*´∀`)σ)))))*3ﾟ),･´.

Today everyone visits the cliff from yesterday, and Souya comes along to make sure Yuna doesn’t get hurt. When Takashi says he’s just like a guardian, Souya answers it’s because he already made a “secret promise” with Yuna. (❤ฺ￫艸￩) As they explore the place, Souya continues looking after Yuna — asking her to tell him if she’s having a hard time. Upon seeing this, Rikka tells Yuna to be careful since Souya might hit on her and steal a kiss from her. (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ This surprises Yuna so much she almost slips off the cliff, but Souya quickly catches her before she falls into the sea. When she thanks him, he says he’s just fulfilling his promise to protect her. He then says they should walk side by side with him hugging her shoulders, and when she says it’s dangerous, he laughs saying he’s just teasing her.. but he’ll always support her whenever she’s about to fall down — anytime, anywhere. As he takes her to catch up with everyone, Yuna keeps wondering if Souya is serious about what he just said.

During the summer festival, Souya takes Yuna to the goldfish-scooping booth. He keeps on failing, but he refuses to give up until he eventually manages to catch one. As they leave the booth, Yuna mentions that Souya got so heated up like a kid. He laughs saying she’s right, and he couldn’t help it since he already promised to catch a goldfish for her. When Souya confidently says that he can catch a lot of goldfish with ease, Yuna reminds him that he failed so hard earlier. It’s so obvious that he’s bad at scooping goldfish, and she asks if he’s actually bad at picking up girls too. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ Souya instantly denies it saying he’s really good at both of them, but she doesn’t take him seriously LOL. One thing she realized is that behind that showy and flirty exterior, he actually has a childish side as well.. and she’s happy to discover this side of him.

Souya asks Yuna out for a night walk, and he takes her to watch the night sea together — admitting that he wants to be alone with her. He suddenly gets an inspiration for a song lyrics, and he tries to write them on the sand before he forgets.. but she tells him that it will only get erased by the waves. Since they don’t bring any notebooks or pens, Souya then asks Yuna to remember the lyrics for him instead. She tries to do her best to memorize the lines, but soon she feels embarrassed since it’s the lyrics of a love song, and she feels like he’s confessing to her. Yuna then apologizes since she can’t memorize everything, and Souys asks if she has fallen in love with him. When she says “maybe”, he smiles saying it means his song is good enough to capture her heart. Souya can remember the lyrics after saying them out loud, but he actually wants Yuna to remember the lyrics as well.. because it’s how he truly feels about her. Before returning to the pension, Souya asks Yuna to look forward to the song. She’ll be the first person to hear it. ||萌||ョ´∀`。)萌えぇ～↑
It’s the last day of the seaside school, and Yuna decides to spend it with Souya on the beach. At noon he shows her a large swim ring from the beach house, asking to ride it while he pulls them into the sea — it will be their last memory of this year’s summer school. However, not too long after they reach the open sea, a giant wave suddenly comes and swallows both of them. The last thing Yuna can remember is both of them drowning, and when she regains consciousness, she finds a worried Souya by her side. He asks if she’s okay, but when she tries to tell him not to worry.. they realize that her voice is gone. She panics and tries to say something, but he asks her to calm down. Her throat must’ve gotten hurt when she was drowning earlier, so she shouldn’t force herself. He tells her it’s okay because she’s got him, and he’ll protect her no matter what happens. After making sure that Yuna is really okay, Souya apologizes for taking her to the open sea. Noticing that a branch is lying nearby, Yuna picks it up and writes on the sand to communicate with Souya. When she asks him what happened, he answers that they got washed away by a tidal wave. The waves carried them to an unknown shore not too far away from the beach, but nobody comes near the island. They have to walk back to the beach by themselves, and he predicts it’s going to take them around two hours.
Souya feels really bad and apologizes again, but Yuna asks him not to feel guilty. She’s actually happy that she was the one who lost her voice and not him, because he’s a vocalist — his fans would be sad if he loses his voice. Souya asks what should he do to answer Yuna’s feelings, and he decides to take the first step by taking her back to the beach. It shouldn’t be too far if they walk through the woods, but when she tries to get up, Yuna realizes that she has sprained her ankle earlier. She asks Souya to go on ahead of her, but he refuses to leave her behind. Instead, he carries her on his back as he walks through the forest. He feels bad since he can’t keep her entertained all the time, so he asks her to sleep. The next time she wakes up, she will be lying on a warm bed. She asks if his feet are okay because he’s not wearing any sandals, and he assures her that he’s fine.. but he does admit that his feet are injured. She feels frustrated because she can’t tell him what she’s feeling, and he doesn’t notice when she tries to write “thank you” on his back. Eventually he notices that she’s crying on his back, and he asks her to tell him if it’s getting too hard for her to bear. He can imagine how scary it feels to lose your voice, and he wants her to share her pain with him — he will carry everything with her. Knowing that Yuna probably thinks he’s only doing this to take responsibility, Souya confesses that he wants to protect her because he loves her. He also admits that unlike her, he’s weak and he needs an answer.. so if she doesn’t feel the same, then she can run away. As the answer, Yuna kisses Souya’s cheek instead. When he asks if he can take it as her answer, her voice finally returns. She says yes, and she tells him that she loves him too. (❤ฺ￫艸￩) Soon they can hear Chihiro and Tsukasa looking for them, and they return to everyone’s place safely — bringing the best summer memory with them.
In the epilogue, Yuna is meeting up with Souya for a date. She still can’t believe that they’re dating now, so he holds her hand to guide her through the stairs of a relationship. After she improves, they can take things further. ｲﾔﾝ☆(*´∀`)σ)))))*3ﾟ),･´. She asks if he’s making fun of her, and he laughs saying he’s not — because he loves her clueless side too. Late at night, Souya comes to Yuna’s room. The moment she opens the door, he pins her against the wall saying she shouldn’t open the door so carelessly. (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ He’s thinking of eating her before someone else does, but he just can’t bring himself to hurt her. However, Yuna is happy that Souya cares about her so much. Yuna finds a very serious Souya in front of the school. He politely refers to her as “Yuna-san”, and he greets her with an equally polite “good day.” He seems confused when she mentions about his usual flirty self, then leaves to study English in cram school.
Souya calls Yuna to his agency office because the president, Natsumoto, wants to talk to her. Wise-crack Revolver has grown to be really famous, so he wants Yuna to break up with Souya because having a lover will only be a hindrance to his career. When Yuna refuses, Natsumoto rages saying she’s getting in Souya’s way to reach his dreams. He also asks Souya to say something, but Souya punches him saying he can’t sing without Yuna. His dreams will be meaningless if he doesn’t have her. It turns out Natsumoto had a similar experience in the past, but he chose to follow his dream instead.. so now he’s giving them a chance to walk on their own path. After Natsumoto leaves, Souya tells Yuna that he needs her in order to keep singing. He wants to be a musician for the rest of his life, so he asks her to stay beside him forever. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:*
Yuna is standing on the beach with Souya, gazing at the night sky together. When she says it’s scary how the starry sky seems to absorb them, he replies that he’s more scared of her eyes. If he looks into her eyes, he won’t be able to hide the fact that he loves her. Souya was thinking of giving up, thinking his confession would only trouble Yuna, but he can’t do it after all. He wants to be with her, and he asks for an answer to his selfish wish.
One morning, Souya is complaining that time is so cruel. It flows fairly for everyone, including for newlyweds like them. He wants to eat her handmade breakfast for a little longer, but she tells him that she’ll put all of her love into today’s dinner too. It makes him happy to know she will be there when he returns home, and it gives him the strength to endure a boring day at work. Before he leaves, he asks her to send him off with a kiss to the cheek. The kiss instantly turns him on, but he’ll hold back for now.
