Finally, it’s time for us to explore Taku—I mean, Brave’s route. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ He’s the hero of Unlimited Quest, though sadly he has turned incredibly corrupted thanks to you. Brave also brings up his sword at every chance he gets. For real.
As the hero of the game, Brave was initially valiant, serious and earnest. Thanks to your play style, he came to develop very unfortunate hobbies of breaking into random people’s houses, destroying pots, and all sorts of malicious actions. He has strayed far, far away from the path of righteousness. As if that wasn’t bad enough, you also gave the poor thing a super lame nickname: “Takuan / pickled radish“. Brave is 17 and wields a sword. 176 cm / 64 kg. His blood type is O.
❤ Quest: BRAVE
If you choose Brave’s quest, he’s really impressed since he’s been expecting you to pick him. He’s the hero after all, though he destroys that image by suddenly hugging you—asking if that means you like him the most in the party. Meanwhile, Priest sighs and wishes for both Brave and you to writhe in agony without any healing. ヽ(*´ー`*)ﾉ Beside him, Wizard gloomily says he’s just a plain character who never stands out. Thief is also sad that you didn’t pick him, and he wonders if it’s because thief quests are bland and has no charms. Completely ignoring their complaints, Brave happily takes the quest from the bartender and leads the party to depart from Capella Village. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
Along the way, Priest, Thief and Wizard keep complaining about how sluggish they feel. Brave eventually snaps and tells them to motivate themselves, reminding them that they’re going to obtain the legendary hero’s sword through this quest. Noticing that you look puzzled, Brave asks if you notice anything about his current sword. You only say that it suits him, and he proudly says it’s only obvious. He’s a handsome hero, of course he looks good with everything. 三ヾ(*´ω`)ﾉﾞ ｳｯﾋｮﾋｮ♪ However, he believes other swords will suit him better than his current one. Unfortunately for Brave, you don’t seem share that opinion at all. In fact, you seem rather confused. Feeling irritated, Brave points out that his current sword is a low level one that he got from the main story LOL. He’s even holding a better-looking sword on the game package and manual, though sadly for him… you don’t remember this at all. (((壊ﾟ∀ﾟ)))ｧﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬ Brave rages and asks if you know how much he suffered on the first run. Instead of upgrading his weapon, you raised his level and maxed out his strength—crushing the evil lord with 100% brute force. ヾ(＇∀＇o)ﾉ♪
In order to stop Brave from getting even more derailed, the others soon ask about the details of the quest. Brave explains that they have to see the client first, who turns out to be an elderly man living in Norgard. Everyone is shocked because Norgard lies on the northern end of the world, while Brave only looks away in silence LOL. They immediately understand why you skipped this extremely troublesome quest, and they also want to drop the quest right away… but Brave quickly stops them from returning to the pub. He then reminds them that you chose his quest, and since he’s been chosen, he’s going to drag them along.
Priest: “… *sigh*“
Right. Brave now has a VERY
not motivated party.
By the time they reach Norgard, the rear guards are dying of exhaustion. Priest is weakly asking for some water, while Wizard says he wants to get some rest. They had to travel by foot, so obviously Wizard and Priest ran out of stamina along the way LOL. When Priest asks why they have no carriage, Brave answers that it was your fault. Somehow you just concluded that maxing out their speed would make them walk faster than a carriage. ｡ﾟ(ﾟﾉ∀`ﾟ)ﾟ｡ｱﾋｬﾋｬ Now that you know how tiring it is to travel by foot, Wizard asks you to buy a carriage for them once you return to your world. After everyone catches their breath, Brave takes the party to see the client.
Following the client’s request, the party then goes to slay a dragon in a nearby mountain. The quest seem to be proceeding smoothly so far, but they encounter a problem here—the dragon is nowhere in sight. It seems like they have to lure it out with a bait, and Priest soon comes up with a nice idea. They should just use you as the bait! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ Thief thinks it’s a brilliant plan, since he’d gladly fly over to snatch you if he were the dragon. Wizard also mentions that they should strip you naked, because apparently that’s the way to go if they’re going to sacrifice a young maiden. ヽ(*´ー`*)ﾉ Priest says the dragon would die on the spot if they put some cream and spice on you, and Thief asks you to strip. Your “sacrifice” is necessary for them to move on with the quest. When you reject this idea, Brave grumbles about how stingy you are. Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒(。A。)ｱﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬ!!
Unfortunately, they’re now completely stumped. They’ve checked all the locations of the dragon sighting, and they’re currently in the last one. Since they have no clue at this point, Thief suggests returning to the village for now. Wizard nods saying they should discuss this while getting some rest, since everyone must be tired. Priest and Brave also want to get some beer, but before they can head back… their surroundings suddenly turn dark. Wizard wonders if the weather is turning worse, and he says they should rush back to the village before it starts raining. Unfortunately, when he looks up at the sky, he realizes that it didn’t get dark because of the clouds. It’s because the dragon is hovering right above them, and it starts attacking them soon after. Brave quickly draws his sword and tells you to stand back, since the dragon’s claws are deadly enough to mince you. Of course Priest is ready to revive you even if that happens, but Thief points out that it’ll only work if resurrection magic can be applied to you.
The battle starts immediately after. Brave is the first one to attack the dragon, followed by Wizard’s black magic—though he’s still complaining about you skipping his magic effects LOL. Thief also wants to steal the dragon’s scale, since they can be sold as nice, expensive charms. However, the dragon attacks Brave on the next turn… and the hit poisoned him. Priest cures him right away, but now the battle has gotten a lot more troublesome because the dragon can inflict status ailments. Brave gets poisoned again when he attacks the dragon. Thief asks Priest to cure Brave as he distracts the dragon with Wizard, but the dragon petrifies him right after that. Which means it probably can attack them with other status ailments as well. Σ(-`Д´-ﾉ；)ﾉ!? To make it easier for Priest, you decide to help by curing Thief with an item. Priest then asks you to throw items from afar whenever someone gets a status ailment, and you can leave the rest to him. The party now has two healers and three vanguards, so Brave believes they’ll be able to pull it off. Wizard protests about being included as a “vanguard” though. ｡ﾟ(ﾟﾉ∀`ﾟ)ﾟ｡ｱﾋｬﾋｬ
However, the situation suddenly turns much worse when the dragon inflicts confusion on Wizard. Priest asks you to cure Wizard since he won’t make it in time, but unfortunately… you ran out of recovery items. Thief panics and asks why they only have so little items in their inventory, and you awkwardly admit that it’s because this is the second run. They’re all high-level too, so you thought they’ll be able to survive any status ailments. Yes, in the end it’s back to brute force. (((壊ﾟ∀ﾟ)))ｧﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬ Brave nearly explodes in rage upon hearing this, but Priest understands since they have him. He can revive them if they die, which will heal the status ailment as well as fully restoring their HP and MP. Thief says it’s such an extreme logic though. Since they’ve run out of items, they’re doomed if Priest runs out of MP. Priest smirks saying that’s just how great he is, so they should work hard and protect him.
In any case, they have to end the battle as quickly as possible. Sadly before Priest can cure his confusion, Wizard hurls his flames towards Thief, instantly killing the latter. As if that’s not bad enough, the dragon then attacks Priest with the worst status ailment in existence—silence. Σ(-∀-；) The situation is absolutely terrible for Brave. He has no more items, Priest is silenced, Wizard is confused and Thief is dead LOL. You feel really bad about this, but Brave only asks why you’re apologizing now. Your commands have always been terrible anyway! ✿*,(*´◕ω◕`*)+✿.* When the dragon comes to attack, Brave quickly warns Priest to stand back until the silence effect wears off—they’re doomed for real if he dies. At the same time, he pulls you into his arms and tells you not to worry. Back on the first run, your defeated the poor evil lord with your wicked play-style. That’s why you better not think that he’d lose to something like this.
After reassuring you that everything will be alright, Brave tells you to wait at the back. He’ll do something about this situation. The first thing he does is to knock Wizard out, because they can’t cure his confusion anyway. Brave asks Priest to heal Wizard later, and he goes to fight the dragon alone—until one of them runs out of HP. Luckily, he manages to kill the dragon in the end. You’re really worried since he’s panting harshly, but he tells you that he’s fine. It’s all thanks to you for raising his level. ヽ(*´ー`*)ﾉ He also obtains a dragon gem, which will serve as a proof that he has slain the dragon. Now that it’s finally over, Brave feels exhausted and clings onto you. When you protest, he only smirks and tells you to comfort him for a bit. After all, he did his best to defeat the dragon. From there, Brave and you wait for Priest’s silence to wear off. He revives and heals the party after that, and they triumphantly return to the client’s house.
When Brave shows the dragon gem, the client thanks him for slaying the dragon. Now that the dragon is gone, everyone in this vicinity can live in peace again. As the reward, the client gives Brave the legendary hero’s sword—which has been passed down in his family for generations. Brave asks if it’s alright for him to take their family heirloom, and he blushes in silence when the client says he deserves to be a true hero. (｡-∀-)ﾆﾋ♪ You note that it looks good on him, and he confidently answers that he has to be the one who wields the legendary hero’s sword LOL. After a short silence, Brave turns red and shyly thanks you. You’re really surprised to hear this, but then he tells you not to make such a stupid face—pointing out that you supported them with items during the battle. It really helped. HOWEVER! He wants you to stop relying on brute force and stock up items properly from now on. ｡ﾟ(ﾟﾉ∀`ﾟ)ﾟ｡ｱﾋｬﾋｬ When you nod, he adds that you have to give him a kiss too as the reward. Since you already nodded, he won’t take no as an answer and tells you to be prepared. .+:｡ヾ(o･ω･)ﾉﾟ.+:｡
Brave leads the party back to Capella Village after that.
❤ After the Quest
That night, Brave visits you in your room. He notices that your face is still red, and he asks if it’s because they went wild in the open-air bath. Or is it because they saw a lot from you? (｡-∀-)ﾆﾋ♪ You tell him not to put it in such a questionable way, but he grins saying your towel fluttered as you escaped earlier… so he saw things. A lot of things. You throw a pillow at him out of embarrassment, but of course he doesn’t get any damage from such a soft pillow. However, Brave suddenly falls silent when you ask why he came here. After a while, he asks if you’re really going back to your world now that you’re done with the quest. Before you can say anything, his expression turns sad as he asks you not to go. He wants to spend more time with you, and he’s clearly not satisfied with just one quest. Brave also promises to protect you from anything, even from dragons—just like what he did today. He might take you on thrilling adventures, but he’ll never put you in danger. Then he pulls you closer, saying that he won’t let you go.
Brave isn’t happy that you let a man into your room at this hour though, and he asks what would you do if it wasn’t him. He won’t accept an excuse like “I don’t understand what you mean” either. As he pushes you down onto the bed, once again he asks you not to leave. Sadly, this startles you so much you end up pushing him away. You quickly run out of your room after that, leaving him disappointed.
❤ Staying with Brave
The next day, a strange light envelopes you in front of everyone. Brave knows it’s going to take you back to your world, but he can’t allow you to leave just like that… and so he pulls you back by force. The light quietly disappears after that, leaving you in their world.
A few days later, Brave asks if you’re ready to head out. You only give him a pathetic look as the answer, so he tells you not to look like that. You have him, and he’ll help you whenever necessary. Brave pinches your nose and laughs at how weird you look, but he still finds it better than the stupid look you gave him. He then reminds you that you’ve decided to stay in this world, but you angrily point out that he’s the one who stopped you from going home. He says it couldn’t be helped though, because the thought of letting you go was unbearable for him. He still wants to be with you. Or rather, he wants you to accompany him and make up for all the time you ignored him. Ignoring the grim expression on your face, Brave then says it’s time to head out. On this sunny day, you’re going to do a quest by yourself for the first time.
As he takes you out of town, Brave mentions that it was you who said you want to learn how to fight. It’s also why he’s been helping you to raise your level. Now that you’ve gained some levels, you shouldn’t be afraid of goblins anymore. In fact, you’ve fought them too before. Your level should be enough to do the goblin quest. It’s just that you have to do it alone, since Brave will gain most of the experience if you’re in a party with him. Soon enough, the two of you reach the area with goblins. You’re really scared and asks if he’s going to help just in case it gets dangerous, and he grins saying he’s a hero—of course he will help those who are in need. The goblins start coming out soon after that, and so Brave pushes you forward to take them on. He comments that you look so valiant and cool with your cypress pole, then he tells you to do your best—he’ll be observing from afar. ヽ(*´ー`*)ﾉ
After a while, you finally manage to clear the goblin quest. Brave happily cheers before coming over to hug you. When you tell him that you’re sweating, he says it doesn’t matter since you’ve cleared the quest by yourself. Noticing that you don’t get what he’s trying to say, Brave explains that one would receive a reward upon completing a quest. Now that you can clear quests on your own, it means you can make a living in this world. You ask if that means he’s going to ditch you now, but he quickly denies it. He wants to say that even though you’re still a beginner, you’ve become a full-fledged adventurer. You’ve become one of them. There’s still a gap between your level and theirs right now, but eventually you’ll be able to stand on equal terms with them. They’ll be able to form a party and do quests together with you, and it makes him incredibly happy. Of course it’s going to take a while since they all have hit the level cap, but Brave will make sure to give you proper training constantly. .+:｡ヾ(o･ω･)ﾉﾟ.+:｡
You flinch when Brave suddenly touches you, and he laughs saying you’re so sensitive. You’re still feeling agitated since it’s right after a battle, and he tells you that your senses stay sharp in this state. Brave then grins saying you’re so cute, and when you ask what he’s thinking of… he answers that he wants to enjoy a lot of things with you. If you know what I mean. (｡-∀-)ﾆﾋ♪ He won’t take no as an answer either, since he knows you don’t dislike him at all. If you don’t feel anything towards him, you would have brushed his hands away and returned home… but you didn’t. You chose him, and he’s going to take responsibility by showering you with love. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ From here on, he’s going to help you gain more levels. He’s going to have a lot of adventures with you, as well as doing all sorts of naughty things to you. Both of you are going to enjoy your lives together in this strange yet interesting world. Brave asks if you dislike that idea, and when you shake your head, he asks if he can attack you right here and now. Σ(ﾟーﾟ；) Of course you instantly refuse, and he decides to listen to you—because he’s a VERY KIND hero like that. In return, he’s going to attack you after returning to the village. He’ll push you down at the inn, and have the inn owner say “seems like you had a lot of fun last night” the next day. (((壊ﾟ∀ﾟ)))ｧﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬ
You only give him a judging stare, but Brave doesn’t care at all. He’s really excited and can’t wait to do it for real LOL. Now that he can see a bright future, Brave takes you to go back to town. This is a beginning for both of you. ヾ(✿❛◡❛ฺฺ)ノ～❤
❤ Returning with Brave
Right from the start, Brave knows you’re going to return to your world after the quest… but when a light suddenly appears to wrap you, all he can think about is how he doesn’t want you to leave him behind. It only took a very brief moment for him to make a decision, then does the only thing in his mind—which is to hug you. The light then brings him along to your world.
A few days later, Brave is busy snacking on potato chips in your room. While food doesn’t restore any HP in this world, he really likes potato chips. Especially the lightly salted ones. He then asks if there’s another flavor that tastes even better, but you only ask if it’s alright for him to eat snacks in a place like this. After all, he’s supposed to save the world as a hero. He thinks it’s okay though. He already came to your world anyway, so there’s nothing he can do about that. Even if he’s away, it’s not like the evil lord can ruin the world inside the game. You seem to have forgotten, but everyone in his party has hit the level cap thanks to you. If they have proper weapons and armors, each of them can defeat the evil lord easily. Poor thing. They won’t have any problems even if Brave is away to be with you. ヽ(*´ー`*)ﾉ You get startled and try to flee when Brave draws closer, but he knows you actually didn’t want to part with him either. If you really don’t like him, he wouldn’t be able to come into your world. It’s similar to how you were able to enter the game because you love them and their world. Brave admits that doesn’t know anything about this world, and he also has no idea how he’s going to live from now on… but a hero won’t be a hero if they can’t get through difficulties. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
Since you can take it easy today, Brave then invites you to go outside. He thinks it’s such a waste to stay inside all day, and he wants to go to the park he visited with you before—so he can work out. Brave says he has no complaints regarding your world for the most part, but he finds it suffocating that there are no monsters for him to fight. What should he fight then? Yankees? Can he pick up their wallets after beating them? (((壊ﾟ∀ﾟ)))ｧﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬ Of course you tell him to stop, but he laughs saying he has no intentions of doing anything like that. He was just messing with you. (｡-∀-)ﾆﾋ♪ You protest when he suddenly hugs you, but he doesn’t let go—knowing you actually find his warmth comfortable. Ignoring your protest, he tells you that he became friends with the kids at the park. They saw him swinging a wooden sword before and got really interested. Of course he actually wants to use his real sword, but since you’ve told him that he needs the “king’s permission” for that, he decides to bear with a wooden one for now.
In any case, the kids grew fond of Brave after he taught them how to hold a sword. When you point out that no one really fights with a sword here, he nods saying they don’t have monsters after all… and then he suddenly whispers “there’s no need to learn swordsmanship” into your ears. Σ(ﾟーﾟ；) For some reason, Brave has learned that you’re weak against whispers. Brave then asks if you want to have some “ero ero” time instead of going out, so you immediately panic and remind him about the park. He smirks saying he can also “work out” with you indoor, but if you insist… he doesn’t mind doing it outside either. (*･ω･*)ﾎﾟｯ Before he takes you out, you remind him to change his clothes first. He agrees since things will get rather troublesome if he doesn’t change, but he actually finds it very unfortunate that he can only wear his hero attire at home. His hero costume is exceptionally good, as it won’t get damaged even if you slash, stab or even burn it. ﾜ━ヾ( o･∀)ﾉﾞヾ(o･∀･o)ﾉﾞヾ(∀･o )ﾉﾞ━ｲ!!
Once Brave is done working out, he goes to join you under the shades—thanking you when you give him a towel. While his skills with the sword aren’t degrading, he’s now wondering about what to do since he’ll have to find a job next. Noticing that you look dumbfounded, Brave asks if it’s THAT surprising. He’s been thinking about this issue seriously. He wouldn’t have followed you in the first place if he’s not ready for it, since he didn’t come here to be a guest in your place. He came into your world to spend the rest of his life with you, so he’ll do something about this issue. He believes quests are more rewarding the more difficult they are, and he knows that you’re going to support him too. You get really startled when Brave suddenly kisses you, but he says it’s your fault for being so cute. It’s just a kiss anyway. You should allow him to do that much. When you protest, he laughs saying you’re just making him want to do a lot more. Brave then tells you that he loves you, and he asks you to take responsibility for turning him like this—for the rest of your life.
Considering how perverted and corrupted he is, I find it hard to believe that Brave is the youngest in this party. ｡ﾟ(ﾟﾉ∀`ﾟ)ﾟ｡ｱﾋｬﾋｬ His route makes me feel really bad for all the protagonists I’ve controlled in RPGs, because I’m a perfectionist who collects every single item in the game. (´・∀・`；)ゞ Brave seems to be very bitter about his nickname, but I think “Takuan” is rather cute and catchy. One of the choices in the game also lets you pick a (wrong) guess that his nickname was “Renkon / lotus root“, and his reaction to that is so hilarious. Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒(。A。)ｱﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬﾋｬ!! Namikawa’s low range is as deadly as always though. Or rather, everyone in this game is deadly once their voices drop.
