Dot Kareshi II – Dancer

I started with Dancer simply because his sample line sounds like something a certain white cat from BWS would say, but they’re nothing alike LOL. Dancer is dumb and only wants to have fun, but can also be sexy when he wants to. 8D

おどりこ (CV:野島健児)

Dancer has developed love for absorbing MP from everything, all because you abused his MP-absorbing dance too much. Since he dances whenever a battle occurs, Dancer is constantly excited and hyper. Even outside of battles. He’s a frivolous spendthrift who loves skinship and having fun, but at the same time also takes dancing seriously. Dancer is perfectly aware that he has a few screws loose as well. He’s 22 and wields a fan. 175 cm / 58 kg. His blood type is AB.

If you choose Dancer’s quest, he happily says you’re the best and starts dancing to express his joy. On the other hand, Knight is extremely shocked that he lost to the “happy-go-lucky weakling”. The other two are shocked as well, but Beastmaster is clearly not pleased to be lumped together with Monk. In fact, he finds it more depressing than losing to Dancer… and Knight agrees. (((壊゚∀゚)))ァヒャヒャヒャヒャヒャヒャ Their reaction has absolutely no effect on Dancer though, who then proceeds to perform his special skill—Deathblow: High Speed Spin. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ Beastmaster quickly protests that he’s in charge of recovery, and so he doesn’t need any deathblows LOL. Dancer’s cheerfulness only irks Beastmaster even more, and he orders Pe to kill Dancer on the spot… but then Knight stops him. Not because he wants to protect Dancer, but because he wants to be the one doing the killing. ヽ(*´ー`*)ノ

Monk also joins in and asks them to let him take the final blow, but you stop them before things go out of hand. At first Beastmaster tells you not to interfere with their problem, but since you insist that you have a good reason for choosing Dancer… both Knight and Monk decide to listen first. They can just kill him later anyway. You explain that you chose Dancer because he’s the healer, and you’re certain that his quest will reward them with a really valuable recovery item—which will keep the party even safer. Knight isn’t sure if a weakling like Dancer is up to the task though, especially since he’s now having fun spinning around the bar. A quest’s difficulty also goes up depending on how valuable the reward is, and that’s why you need their help. Beastmaster is still unsure, but then Knight realizes something and points to the old men in the bar—they’re all turning young again. ゚.+:。ヾ(o・ω・)ノ゚.+:。 Monk is amazed and wonders if Dancer restored their youth with his dance of joy, and Knight nods saying this quest might be worth trying.

After leaving the bar, Dancer complains that he’s still feeling sick. His eyes are spinning. Knight points out that it’s is his own fault though, since he got carried away and spun too much. Dancer quietly sinks into a crouch, but Knight tells him not to stop here. They have to walk a bit further to reach their destination. Beastmaster also asks Monk to carry you, so he gladly lifts you up and uses the chance to grope your thighs. They’re soft and make him happy. ✿*,(*´◕ω◕`*)+✿.* As much as Beastmaster wants to jump-kick him, it’d be dangerous because he’s carrying you. When Knight points out that he’s getting a massive nosebleed, Monk insists that he’s fine… but Knight replies that it’s not “fine” at all. Children would cry if they see Monk right now. His nosebleed is so intense it looks like gore. Beastmaster also notices that you’re slowly sliding down Monk’s back, and Dancer asks him to let you down. From the way you look at them, it’s pretty clear that you’re seeking help LOL.

Since Monk refuses to let go of his happiness, Beastmaster gets really irked and sends Pe to headbutt him. At the same time, Dancer catches you and asks if you’re alright. When you return the question at him, he says he’s fine—what just happened completely blew his sickness away. As Monk groans in agony, Knight only watches the poor thing with pity in his eyes. Dancer comments that even though Knight loves pain, this one is definitely a pain he wouldn’t want to feel… which makes me wonder about where Pe attacked him. Is it on the crotch? (lll’□’o)ァ・・・。 Beside them, Beastmaster only scoffs.

Somehow, Monk manages to recover and get back on his feet… so the party gets their focus back on the quest. Knight informs everyone that their destination is a chapel not too far ahead, and Dancer explains the details of the quest. According to the information, a legendary item is sealed on the chapel. The item would allow Dancer to absorb HP and MP more effectively from the enemies, which means he’ll be able to heal the party even more. However, it’s also believed that those who put it on would continue dancing for eternity—until they die. Knight nearly nods since Dancer’s explanation has zero sense of urgency, but this means the item is cursed. While it does sound dangerous, Beastmaster says the curse probably wouldn’t change Dancer at all. He probably wouldn’t be able to tell if Dancer gets cursed, and Knight agrees since Dancer is always dancing anyway.

Dancer: “What kind of person do you guys take me for~!?”
Beastmaster: “A spendthrift who’s missing one screw in his head.”
Knight: “A weakling whose second screw is probably loose as well.”

Very accurate.

Dancer sadly asks if he’s allowed to sulk and go astray, but his mood is instantly fixed when you say that you believe in him. As long as you trust him, he couldn’t care less about what the others think. ヽ(*´ー`*)ノ Dancer then decides to teach you his holy dance, which might come in handy just in case he gets cursed. After asking you to copy his moves, he gives you detailed instructions and fixes your posture. Each move in the holy dance has a meaning, so the effect won’t show if you remember it wrong. As they watch from the side, Monk protests in jealousy since Dancer gets to touch you… but Knight only tells him to keep his voice down. Dancer isn’t the weakling they know right now, because he’s doing his best to teach you the dance. Beastmaster is actually impressed to see this, and it improves his opinion of Dancer as well. After a while, you successfully perform the holy dance with Dancer. This makes you happy too, and he asks you to remember it. If anything happens later on, you should do the dance. Now that you’ve learned the holy dance, Dancer leads the party to move on to the chapel.

Upon reaching the chapel, the party explains their objective to the priest—who confirms that the rumor is true. The item is indeed cursed. He doesn’t mind showing it to them though, and he asks them to wait as he goes to take the item. After a while, he returns with a safety fault and explains that they keep it under strict security in order to prevent people from touching it. When he opens it, the party finds a set of anklet and bracelet inside. Dancer and you are amazed to see how wonderful they are, while Knight nods saying they do have a delicate design. They’re really beautiful, and no one can tell that they’re actually hiding a horrifying curse. Beastmaster also notes that they’re decorated with jewels of the best quality, and Monk mutters that he might become popular if he gives them to a girl. (○´゚ω゚`):;*.’:;ブッ

However, the priest warns them not to put the bracelet and anklet on. Those who wear it will dance and dance with nothing else in mind. Beastmaster says that’s exactly the same as what Dancer usually does though LOL. The priest also explains that most the jewels are rare and incredibly expensive, so much that people are willing to kill just to obtain them. They’ve been stained by the blood of those who were driven by their greed, and eventually the bracelet and anklet fell onto the hand of a talented dancer—who also became a victim of their own greed. The problem is the dancer’s wish to keep dancing turned him into an evil spirit, so now anyone who wear the bracelet and anklet will dance until they die. Dancer says he can understand the dancer’s feeling really well, but the others doubt it because the dancer was talented while Dancer is… like that. 。゚(゚ノ∀`゚)゚。アヒャヒャ

In any case, the priest sealed the bracelet and anklet. He’s been guarding them ever since so they won’t cause more victims to fall, but Knight wonders if there’s a way to erase the curse. They’re valuable and useful, so it would be a waste to leave them sealed like that. The priest hasn’t found anything so far, but Beastmaster says there must be a way to erase of the curse—it’s a quest after all. Monk adds that if they can’t do that, it’d turn into all sorts of problems in the long run. People would call it a bug, which might lead to something the god hates—complaints. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ However, the discussion is interrupted by a sound effect. Upon turning around, Knight and you are shocked to see that Dancer has put the bracelet and anklet on. Σ(-`Д´-ノ;)ノ!? He asks if they look good on him, but Knight rages at him for being such a big fool. Beastmaster sighs saying he did that while they’re talking about the curse too, and Monk thinks it’s probably a good idea to kill him once—because fools will never learn until they get a painful lesson. Beastmaster thinks Monk is just as stupid though LOL.

The priest apologizes saying it was his fault for showing the bracelet and anklet, because they have the power to attract those who love dancing. Just as people say: the dancers are fools, the watches are fools; everyone’s fools, so why not dance together? ヽ(*´ー`*)ノ The priest’s words hit them like a bomb, so Monk and Beastmaster are wondering if he’s possessed too… but Knight doesn’t think that’s the case. He’s 100% certain and can swear to god that Dancer’s foolishness is WAY above everyone else’s. As terrible as that may sound, Beastmaster has to agree because Dancer’s stupidity has no limits. (((壊゚∀゚)))ァヒャヒャヒャヒャヒャヒャ As Dancer gleefully cheers and dances around, you notice something behind his back—a silhouette. The priest says that’s the ghost who resides in the bracelet and anklet, though Knight thinks Dancer and the ghost look like brothers who were separated at birth. アヒャヒャ。゚(゚ノ∀`。゚(゚ノ∀ヽ゚)゚。´∀ヽ゚)゚。ヒャヒャ The priest doesn’t care though. They can be brothers or whatever, he just wants them to take care of it LOL.

Since Dancer (along with the ghost) is spinning around, laughing about how fun dancing is, Beastmaster agrees that they do look like brothers. You ask them to help Dancer though, and so they start attacking him… except he dodges everything. In return, he cheerfully attacks back with “ghost kick” and “48 ghost hands”. 。o@(^ゝω・)@o。ニコッ♪ Knight defends everyone just in time, but he takes quite a lot of damage from the latter. Monk, on the other hand, completely gets slapped in the face. In fact, he gets yet another nosebleed because he’s imagining something perverted with 48 hands… and then he collapses saying he ran out of power. 。゚(゚ノ∀`゚)゚。アヒャヒャ Knight grits his teeth saying their enemy is really strong for defeating Monk, but Beastmaster points out that it was self-destruct—he just collapsed on his own. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ They’re in a bad situation though. Without any recovery items, the battle will only drain their HP.

Just then Dancer attacks with “ghost thunderbolt”, and Knight SMILES saying it’s stunning. Beastmaster knows he probably means stunning in a do-M good way, but Dancer’s attack power is indeed high. Here, you suddenly tell them that you’ll do something about this situation. When Beastmaster asks if you have a plan, you explain that you’re going to use the dance you learned earlier—the holy dance. Maybe it will work against the ghost. Knight thinks it’s a good idea since the holy element has the power to purify evil, so he asks you to give it a try—Beastmaster and him will cover you. As soon as you start dancing, Dancer gets excited and happily dances with you. He says your dance makes his heart flutter, but even though he finds it fun… he soon adds that he doesn’t like it when people control him to dance. Then he breaks out of the ghost’s possession and regains control of his body. ワ━ヾ( o・∀)ノ゙ヾ(o・∀・o)ノ゙ヾ(∀・o )ノ゙━イ!!

The priest is amazed by how strong Dancer’s spirit is, and he cheers that it’s a miracle… but Beastmaster really doubts it LOL. He thinks it’s probably because the curse’s effect is weak, but Dancer says that’s not the reason. They inflicted enough damage to the ghost and you helped with the holy dance, allowing him to break the curse. Just then Monk gets up and asks if their attacks were useful, and Beastmaster notices that he revived himself out of panic—because he didn’t get much spotlight during the battle. In a way, his spirit is probably stronger than Dancer’s. Monk blushes upon hearing this, so Beastmaster makes it clear that it was NOT a praise. (((壊゚∀゚)))ァヒャヒャヒャヒャヒャヒャ Now that he’s no longer possessed, Dancer invites you to do the holy dance together and purify the ghost. He’s happy to see that you remember everything he taught you, and he says you’re the best. Thanks to you, he’s feeling more excited than ever. ヽ(*´ー`*)ノ The ghost panics upon realizing that his body has been pulled apart from the accessories, and he’s gradually vanishing. When Dancer and you finish the dance, the ghost disappears with a scream.

As the priest prays to god for the miracle he witnessed, Dancer happily thanks you. It’s all thanks to you that he can win against the ghost, and it makes him even happier when you say that you did it for him. In addition, the priest also hands the bracelet and anklet to Dancer—saying he’s the one who truly deserves them. Since he’s feeling delighted, Dancer wants to do the dance of delight with you. This dance has been passed down to the south since the ancient times, and it’s meant to be danced while hugging each other. After guiding you to put your hands around his wrist, Dancer nods saying your dance is the best… but he also finds you very comfortable to hug. ♪゚+.o(*萌´д`从´д`萌*)o.+゚♪ Dancer actually wants to dance with you forever, but Beastmaster can’t stand this any longer. He quickly stops you and Dancer saying it’s time to go home, and so the party makes their way back to the village.

After the Quest

After returning to town, Dancer takes you to talk in private. As he holds your hand, he asks if you’re really going back to your world. He knows he doesn’t have the right to stop you if that’s what you’re truly wishing for, but you and him had quite a lot of fun together—though the quest probably gave you a hard time as well. Dancer finds it really enjoyable to spend his days with you, and this is the first time he’s ever had that much fun. He then asks you to stay here and not leave, promising that he’ll give you much more fun than you can get in your world. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:*

Staying with Dancer

People say fun things would gradually become less enjoyable if they happen everyday. Even festivals are lively because they only happen every once in a while, which is why people go all out to have fun during those times. However, Dancer is wondering if that’s really true. When a strange light appears to wrap you, he feels that the “festival” god gave them has reached its end… but he doesn’t want it to end. That’s why he goes against the will of god and clings onto you, and so the light leaves you inside the game.

A few days later, Dancer is teaching you how to dance. You’re too embarrassed to shake your hips in a seductive and sexy way, but he says you have to throw that kind of consciousness away. After giving you an example, Dancer explains that dance is honest. If you have doubts in your heart, no matter how small they are, they will show through your dance. Dancing with your body and soul will bring out the greatest effects, so it’s related to the amount of HP recovery and MP absorption in battle. Leaving all the difficult things aside, Dancer says he’d be happy if you enjoy it. He then resumes your practice and asks you to do the dance again, instructing you to shake your hips and bend your body more. ヽ(*´ー`*)ノ He notices that you’ve gotten better, but you still don’t have enough twist… so he holds your body to show you how to do it. You instantly get flustered, but he tells you not to be that embarrassed. If you’re being overly conscious of him, he might end up getting serious in an entirely different way. (o´艸`o)ァハ♪

When you ask what that means, Dancer immediately answers by clinging onto you. Then he smiles saying whenever he hugs you, he can feel creative impulse rising inside of him. It gives him the idea of inventing an intense dance of love, which also puts the dancers so closely against each other. If he can finish it, he’ll be able to hug you openly—anytime, anywhere. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ You turn red since you find the idea really embarrassing, but he reminds you that you can’t feel embarrassed while dancing. After all, you can leave a strong impression in people’s hearts by perfectly dancing to a hidden theme. You need to dance with your body and soul! ☆-(ノ゚Д゚)八(゚Д゚ )ノイエーイ

Dancer doesn’t really mean it though. If you find it hard to remember the dance, he asks you not to force it. Just having you by his side is already enough to make his days enjoyable, and it improves his dancing skills as well. It means that in a way, your existence is raising his level… and it makes him feel really lucky because he can grow stronger without joining any battles. Or rather, it makes him feel loved. (o´艸`o)ァハ♪ It’s even better because he’s the only one who receives this effect from you, so it also gives him a sense of superiority. He secretly checked Knight, Beastmaster and Monk’s stats before, but he’s the only one who’s improving—much to their mortification LOL. Dancer is truly glad that he stopped you from leaving back then, but then he asks how you feel about this. Do you want to return to your world?

Before you can say anything, Dancer quickly stops you from answering. He doesn’t need to hear it after all. Even if you’re wishing to return to your world, he’ll definitely change your mind. He’ll make you feel glad that you stayed inside the game, so you can enjoy your days here from the bottom of your heart… and so you’ll grow to love him even more. Dancer then invites you to go on a journey with him, learning different kinds of dance together—the ultimate ones that can only be danced by you and him. ヽ(*´ー`*)ノ This world has a lot of excitements, much more than your world does.

Dancer also wants to teach you the final secret art—the courtship dance—today, but you refuse saying it’s still impossible for you. He says he’s in that kind of mood though, and he gently bites your ear as he teaches you the dance. ゚+.(*ノωヾ*)ャン♪+゚ You get flustered and immediately push him away in a panic, but he laughs saying you’re so cute for blushing that much. He warns you that running away from him is meaningless though, because he’ll definitely catch you and won’t let go—just like what he did that day. Dancer soon proves his words by capturing you, saying he’ll lock you in his arms and whisper words of love for you all the time. His wish is to always be with you in this broad world, and he’s going to seduce you with everything he’s got… so you should be prepared. 。o@(^ゝω・)@o。ニコッ♪

Returning with Dancer

Before meeting you, dancing used to be everything for Dancer… but then you came and completely turns his life upside down. He was surprised to find something more precious than dancing in this world, and so he decides to chase after you. As he catches a glimpse of your world, Dancer laughs saying it looks fun.

One day, Dancer suddenly clings onto you from behind—asking about what you’re doing. You ask him not to do that because it surprises you, so he decides to do it from the front instead. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ When you protest and tell him to let go, he only asks you why and hugs you even tighter LOL. You explain that it’s embarrassing, because doing it from the front would be more like “embracing” instead of “clinging”… but Dancer doesn’t get your logic. He thinks it’s weird because you and him are so close. At least for him. He also finds you really comfortable to hug, so he wants to continue the conversation while hugging you. ヽ(*´ー`*)ノ You try to resist, but he only smiles saying he won’t let go—because this is a “holy dance” that’s effective for the two of you. It’s obviously just an excuse and not an actual dance, but when you point it out, he cheerfully says you’re just imagining things. This kind of dance exists too. ヾ(o´∀`o)ノ♪

Dancer noticed that you seem busy with something, which is why he came to ask what you’re doing. You reveal that you’re actually cutting up articles about him, so you can put everything into a scrapbook. He doesn’t think it’s necessary though, because you can always watch him dance live anytime. He thinks the real him is much better than his pictures in the articles, and so he asks you to look at him as much as you want. You point out that you can’t see him since he’s hugging you so tightly, but instead of letting go, he decides to just let you see him later LOL. For now, he’s more interested in continuing the “holy dance” with you. *。☆:・’ヽ(*・ω・)ノ*:・’゚☆゚・*: Dancer also asks what a scrapbook is, and you explain that it’s for keeping records… so he concludes that it must be the same as saving. As in saving your game LOL. He nods saying saving is indeed important. You might lose a lot of progress if you don’t save regularly, and repeating all the things you’ve gone through is definitely not fun.

Upon hearing this, you laugh and explain that it’s different from saving. This reminds Dancer that people can’t go back into the past in your world, and you ask if he’s having a hard time here—because it’s really different from his world. He says it’s not that hard though, because he’s the type of person who can enjoy pretty much anything. Dancer laughs upon recalling the time when he followed you into this world. Back then you were thrown into a huge panic. Your eyes were wide open, you were gaping like a goldfish, and you looked like you could faint anytime LOL. You never thought he’d follow you back to your world, and he admits that he didn’t expect it either. He jumped into the light because he didn’t want to be apart from you, but he says it must be the power of love which allows him to live normally in this world. He loves you as he loves dancing, but it wouldn’t work if his feeling is one-sided… which means you must feel the same way. When you nod and admit that it’s true, he laughs and kisses your cheek as the reward. (*ノ∀ノ)イヤン

Dancer is also happy that the people of your world love dancing too, and so he can continue working as a dancer. He can dance as much as he wants, not to mention the reception is much better here. He smiles saying this is truly a nice world. You’re here with him, and people are happy to see his dance. He’s glad to have come to your world. That being said, Dancer thinks you need more exercise. You feel a little too soft when he hugs you, so he’s going to teach you a new dance that can help you get a nice body. ヽ(*´ー`*)ノ He decides to do this right away, but before heading out… he remembers that his new costume has come, so he’s going to wear them instead. You tell him that people call them “clothes” and not “costume”, but it doesn’t really matter because he can dance in anything. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ He wants to try them on too since they’re new, so he asks you to wait and leaves to get changed.

After a while, Dancer returns and asks if the clothes look good on him. He’s ready to go out and dance, but unfortunately… you’re still busy with the scrapbook. Since you won’t get up at all, Dancer then starts tickling you—refusing to stop until you listen to him. This eventually causes you to lose balance, and he accidentally pushes you down. Ignoring your protest, Dancer simply hums in amusement and decides to change the plans. When you ask what he’s going to do, he answers that there’s only one thing to do in this situation… and then he leans in to kiss you. He can’t absorb MP in this world, but he already found something else that’s even more energizing than MP. Your kisses give him power more than anything, so he’s going to kiss you a lot today. (。-∀-)ニヒ♪ This is really a “sacred ritual” for him, and he asks you to let him absorb your love. Dancer then tells you that he loves you, and he asks you to always stay with him.

Dragon Quest VII’s description of their dancer class is “the Dancer simply loves to dance“, and I think that perfectly describes Dot Kareshi’s Dancer as well. Dancing is really everything to him, and even he admits that if you take it away from him… he’d have nothing left. 。゚(゚ノ∀`゚)゚。アヒャヒャ I don’t usually like this type, but for some reason I find Dancer really cute. Maybe it’s the gap between his dumb antics and his serious attitude towards dancing? Or is it that sexy expression he makes in the last CG? Because I miss Nojiken’s voice? σ(´・д・`*)? I’m not sure myself, but I enjoyed Dancer’s route a lot. It’s also nice that he can continue being a dancer even in your world LOL.

Speaking of which, are there any male dancers in Dragon Quest? (・д・。 = 。・д・)?

I can’t remember since I don’t use dancers that much, but male dancers are quite unusual…
