*door opening and closing*

Suzukake: “Ahh~ I’m so hungry. Huh? Sakyou-san, what a coincidence!”

Sakyou: “Suzukake. There are other customers around, talking with a loud voice will cause them inconvenience.”

Suzukake: “Ah… I’m sorry. Oh, good day to you too! I’m hungry, so I ended up dropping by. But it’s pretty crowded in here, isn’t it?”

Sakyou: “If you don’t mind, feel free to take the seat beside me.”

Suzukake: “Is it okay? Well then, I’ll have my lunch with you. Let’s see… what to order? Give me an ochazuke then, the same as Sakyou-san!”

*footsteps walking away*

[00:48]

Suzukake: “By the way, I saw them preparing a festival car outside. It was my first time seeing such a gorgeous one, so I was surprised.”

Sakyou: “Ah, if I’m not mistaken… there’s going to be a festival soon at the shrine.”

Suzukake: “I see! It must be lively with a lot of people.”

*footsteps coming over*

*sounds of a dish being placed on the table*

Suzukake: “Thank you. Let’s eat! …Hmm~! It’s so warm and tasty!”

[01:24]

Suzukake: “Hey. The festival is coming soon, are you going too? …Huh? You look kind of gloomy. Is it because you’re going to be really busy in the restaurant?”

Sakyou: “Are you going to perform a naginata demonstration at the festival? You have been given a very important role, haven’t you? Especially since your teacher’s mentor is going to be watching as well. Oh…? You don’t seem to be happy. Is something troubling you? …I see. I understand your concern regarding whether or not you can fulfill your role properly, but… you should remember not to panic.”

Suzukake: “That’s right. If you get intimidated, you might not be able to do anything right.”

[02:12]

Sakyou: “However, you don’t have much time left. I did tell you not to panic, but…”

Suzukake: “Hmm… Ah, I know! Can’t we do anything to help?”

Sakyou: “Help…?”

Suzukake: “Yeah! I’m not sure if it’ll be of any use, but maybe we can help her practice or something.”

Sakyou: “I… will have to pass.”

Suzukake: “Huh? Why? Your gestures are always beautiful no matter what you do, Sakyou-san. I’m sure you’ll be a good example for her…”

Sakyou: “Even if you say so…”

[02:41]

Suzukake: “Just once, then! Once will be enough. Please!”

Sakyou: “Why are you the one asking for my cooperation, Suzukake? …You, too. Please don’t look at me like that. …Alright, I understand. However, I will only agree to become nothing more than your training partner—to help you practice the form which will be used in the demonstration. I shall only accept the role of parrying your dance.”

Suzukake: “Yeah, that’s great! Of course, I’ll also do my best to help!”

Sakyou: “So, what pointers did you receive from your teacher so far?”

Suzukake: “She doesn’t sense power from your performance, huh… The kind of power that resembles the surging, raging waves… Raging waves…?”

Sakyou: “Speaking of the winter sea, it is often depicted with ferocious white-crested waves… but that would be quite difficult to personify.”

[03:44]

Suzukake: “The sea, huh… It reminds me of the one we saw in Tokaido, but there were no white-crested waves back then. Hmm…”

Sakyou: “In any case, in order for us to be able to help you train, you will have to teach us the form which will be used in the demo—”

Suzukake: “I know! I have a nice idea! We should just go to the sea and practice there!”

Sakyou: “Suzukake. Even if you say so, the sea is quite far away. People do say that you won’t know unless you try, but I’m not sure that applies to this situation.”

Suzukake: “But you see, even if it’s a bit of a trip, I think feeling it with your body will be the best way to learn. Besides, it’ll definitely be fun to go to the sea together! You think so too, right? Yeah! I believe it’s going to be a good training session, so let’s do our best!”

Sakyou:*sigh* For some reason, I can tell this is going to be difficult.”

[04:43]

*sounds of waves crashing*

Suzukake: “Wow~! This is my first time seeing the sea from so close! As I thought, it’s really, really big!”

Sakyou: “But… the wind is strong today. It’s really rough.”

Suzukake: “Huh? Really?”

Sakyou: “Yes. If it’s during that time of the year when we can’t see our breath in the air, it’s usually calmer.”

Suzukake: “I see. I want to visit again when it gets warmer, though it seems like we’ll be able see unusual things in winter.”

[05:20]

Suzukake: “Hey, can I take look around this area for a bit? Ah… but we came here for your training, so… I shouldn’t do that. Eh…? Is it okay?”

Sakyou: “A demonstration is done in pairs, so I will be her partner for now. Besides, you are restless and won’t be able to help her train in that state.”

Suzukake: “Sakyou-san, too… Thank you! Well then, I’ll be off for a bit. I’ll be back soon, okay? See you later!”

*footsteps running off*

Sakyou: “He must be really happy to be able to come to the sea. I’m sure he will come back eventually, so let us start training first.”

[06:06]

Sakyou: “The onshore breeze is strong, so please tie your sash tighter. Shall I help? Excuse me… Alright. Our preparations are complete now. Well then, I am pleased to be training with you.”

Sakyou:*chuckles* Since we have come all the way here, shall we move closer to the water’s edge? We can feel the raging waves nearby as we train.”

*footsteps moving towards the shore*

[06:54]

Sakyou: “Oh, are you alright? You seem to be unsteady on your feet. I would love to ask for your hand, but… this is also a part of training. I believe you will be performing on top of wooden floor for the actual demonstration, but learning to keep your composure in every location and situation will surely be helpful in your martial arts study.”

Sakyou: “First of all, firmly set your feet on the sandy shore and try to maintain your posture. Pay attention to the center of your balance so you won’t trip on the sand… Right. Straighten your spine, and make sure not to lose your form. Then step back to take some distance…”

*footsteps moving away*

Sakyou: “This amount of space should do. Well then, try charging in over here.”

[07:46]

*swish*

Sakyou: “The last swing before you come to a stop is a little shallow. You will probably have to move half a step forward. There is no need to apologize. Now, one more time.”

*swish*

Sakyou: “I see. Your starting step was magnificent this time. However, since you are not used to the sand, you are being too careful about your balance and it’s reducing the power of your naginata skills. Especially your downward diagonal swing—its power and vigor are completely gone. I think it’s difficult for you due to the gust of sea breeze, but… let’s see. Stay where you are and try swinging it once.”

[08:32]

*sounds of naginata cutting through the air*

Sakyou: “I see. That’s good. Well then, let’s try having a spar with me. Come.”

*swish*

Sakyou: “It’s still a little light. At this state, you might end up throwing your opponent into confusion. Since this is different from how you would normally strike, could it be that you’re not sure how to use your naginata?”

Sakyou: “It’s true that the movement is not commonly used in practice. It is understandable for you to be uncertain. However, this is a demonstration. In order to make it a stronger and more beautiful performance, you should not hold down your power as you swing your naginata.”

[09:21]

Sakyou: “Well then, one more time. This time, please give it your all as you charge in and strike.”

*swish*

Sakyou: “It’s getting much better. Now, one more time. Let’s continue all the way to the end this time.”

*whack*

*smash*

Sakyou: “Wonderful! Moreover, those earnest eyes of yours looking straight through me… they are truly beautiful. Please don’t make weak-spirited remarks. After all, during the actual demonstration, you will have to carry yourself with more confidence and dignity.”

[09:58]

*the wind blowing stronger*

Sakyou: “…!? Look out!”

*whoosh*

*sounds of naginata falling onto the ground*

Sakyou: “…Are you alright? I never thought that the sea breeze in winter could be so strong… Please stay like this for a while and use me to shield yourself from the wind.”

[10:22]

Sakyou: “That was surprising, wasn’t it? I’m glad that you’re unharmed. However, your beautiful black hair has become entangled.”

Sakyou: “…I’m a man, so whatever happens to my hair doesn’t matter. But in your case, we cannot leave you in such a state. I shall fix your hair. Please don’t move and stay in my arms, that will make it easier for me to do it. I will be removing your hair clip for now.”

[11:01]

Sakyou: “Since I don’t have a comb, I have no choice but to brush your hair with my fingers… *chuckles* Your hair is beautiful. It’s so soft and feels nice to the touch. It feels like I’m petting a cat or something.”

Sakyou:*chuckles* If you’re offended, I apologize. However, I do think it’s lovely and nice. It must be fun to take care of your hair if it’s this soft. I even feel like visiting you everyday just to do your hair. …Hm? Is something the matter?”

Sakyou:*laughs* I’m a man, so having a beautiful hair would be pointless, wouldn’t it? But I will gratefully accept your compliment.”

[11:58]

Sakyou: “Alright, this should do. If we pull your hair back and tie it into place… it’s back to how it was before. And then… ah, yes. That’s right. How should I put it… Your kimono is a little disheveled, can you please fix it by yourself?”

Sakyou: “Did you not realize it? You are unbelievable… Please be careful during the demonstration. Ah, if you pull it more than necessary… the collar will become loose. You should stay calm and fix your kimono carefully. I told you, there is no need to panic… *sigh* You leave me no choice. I will help you put it on, so please stay still.”

Sakyou: “Even if you say it’s embarrassing… For me, it would be more troubling if you stay by my side while looking like this.”

[13:09]

Sakyou: “There you go. …No, there is no need to thank me. However, please look after yourself a little bit more. I’m getting worried.”

Sakyou: “Of course I’m worried. This is about you after all…”

*Suzukake returning in the distance*

Suzukake: “I’m back—! The view over there was beautiful too!”

Sakyou: “Oh, it looks like he has returned. *chuckles* It’s good that he didn’t see you in a disheleved kimono, isn’t it? If you find that embarrassing, then please be careful from now on.”

[13:52]

Suzukake: “Huh? What’s wrong?”

Sakyou: “Nothing. It seems like you have found something unusual.”

Suzukake: “Yeah! A huge seaweed got washed ashore. Look!”

Sakyou: “…That is splendid, but… are you planning to bring it home…?”

Suzukake: “But it might be delicious if we turn it into a seaweed soup at the restaurant, right?”

Sakyou: “I… wonder… In any case, Suzukake. I believe it’s about time we switch.”

[14:21]

Suzukake: “Okay, leave it to me! …Ah, what should we do with this seaweed? Looks like it’ll get covered in sand if we put it here.”

Sakyou:*sigh* I understand. I will put it on a rock somewhere to let it dry, please give it to me.”

Suzukake: “Wah, thank you, Sakyou-san!”

Sakyou: “No problem. You, too, please be very careful of the onshore breeze. Well then.”

*footsteps walking away*

[14:50]

Suzukake: “The sea breeze is really strong, isn’t it? How strange. So the sea breeze has a different scent than the wind blowing in the mountains. Hehe, I’m getting excited for some reason. Well then, let’s start right away.”

Suzukake: “Let’s see… this is how you wield it, right? What a relief. This is my first time holding a naginata, but it’s pretty interesting! Sakyou-san told me it’s for defeating cavalry soldiers, but… it’s amazing how people could came up with the idea of making such a long weapon.”

Suzukake: “Alright! Here goes… Come on, take your stance!”

[15:33]

Suzukake: “First, let’s try going with the flow once. I’ll be counting on you!”

*sounds of naginata clashing against each other*

Suzukake: “Wow! The power is even more amazing than I thought! That was a beautiful step, it doesn’t show any hesitation. Besides, you also look like you’re having fun! If you can perform the stance like this on the day of the demonstration, I think you’ll get lots of praises. You don’t have to worry, I’m sure everything will be alright!”

[16:03]

Suzukake: “That being said, you’ll have no choice but to get used to the anxiety… Ah, I know! If you can enjoy the performance to the fullest, wouldn’t that be great? Don’t mind the form and such, just try attacking me with all your might. I’ll also move accordingly.”

Suzukake: “No need to worry. Let’s go…!”

*whack*

Suzukake: “Hah!”

*whack*

Suzukake: “Come on! Block, and then…!”

*whack*

Suzukake: “Ehehe, that’s too easy!”

*swish*

Suzukake: “Yah!”

*thud*

*sounds of naginata hitting the ground*

[16:37]

Suzukake: “Ahh! Sorry! I made you fall… You’re a girl, and yet I put it too much power… It’s hard to stand firm and defend yourself when you’re standing on sand, right? Ah, you’re covered in sand because of me…”

Suzukake: “Eh…? That was fun? Really…? Ah, now that you mention it… someone told me the same thing during a spar. He said my swordsmanship involve strange movements. But I’m fine with that. It’s more interesting if we have a lot of different forms and styles.”

[17:15]

Suzukake: “Hehe. That smile is really nice. Your nice expression when wielding a naginata is nice too, but I find it more relieving when you’re smiling like that. Do you think you can do it without feeling too nervous? …Good then. Come here for a bit.”

Suzukake: “If your legs are shaking during the actual demonstration… remember today. The sound of waves. The scent of sea breeze. If you remember the way you danced so vividly, your heart will definitely feel calm. You’ll be alright. It’s going to be just fine… definitely.”

[18:02]

Suzukake: “Both Sakyou-san and me are looking forward to your performance. We’ll be watching for sure, so do your best! Yeah. Well then, let’s do a bit more practice.”

Suzukake: “Eh? Uwaaah—!!”

*sounds of high wave crashing onto the shore*

Suzukake: “T-That surprised me…! I thought the waves were so far away, when did they come so close to the shore? Ah, did you get drenched too? It’s cold, isn’t it? We’ll have to dry your kimono quickly. Besides, if we stay here… Sakyou-san will probably get angry.”

[18:02]

*footsteps approaching*

Suzukake: “Oh…? Ahh…”

Sakyou: “You two… Just what in the world happened to you?”

Suzukake: “Ehehehe… A high wave came and we couldn’t run away in time.”

Sakyou: “High wave? …Ah, so you were too engrossed in training to notice. Due to the high tide, the waves are gradually moving closer to the shore. Good grief… I left you for a moment and you’ve gotten all drenched…”

Suzukake: “Uu… I’m sorry…”

Sakyou: “Before apologizing, do note that a woman should never allow her body to grow cold. Now, let’s go to a place where we can warm ourselves.”

*footsteps walking away*

[19:27]

*sounds of crackling fire*

Suzukake: “It’s so warm…”

Sakyou: “I’m glad to hear that. It’s worth the effort of making arrangements with the owner of this fisherman’s cottage.”

Suzukake: “Huh? Did you ask him to let us use this place?”

Sakyou: “I figured that we will end up feeling cold due to raging wind anyhow. That’s why I thought we should warm ourselves first before heading home.”

[19:50]

Sakyou: “You’re welcome. Now, don’t hold back and come closer to the brazier. Your kimono will also dry faster that way.”

Suzukake: “Um… I’m really sorry. It was cold, wasn’t it? Aren’t your toenails numb? …I see, but I’m worried, so let’s warm up properly. Come a bit closer. …It feels warmer if we stick together like this, right?”

Sakyou: “Ah, that’s a good idea. Well then, me too… I’ll be sitting beside you. Also, please take this bowl.”

[20:35]

Suzukake: “Wow, it smells so good! What is this?”

Sakyou: “When I went to explain our situation to the cottage’s owner, he was kind enough to share some warm seafood soup with us.”

Suzukake: “Really? Looks like this will fill us with warmth in no time!”

Sakyou: “It seems like he also put in a lot of the large seaweed you found, Suzukake.”

Suzukake: “I see! But the seaweed was black, how come there’s only green in this soup?”

[21:04]

Suzukake: “Eh? The color changes? I see. Cooking sure is deep…”

Sakyou: “Now, let’s drink an abundant amount of the soup before warming up by the fire.”

Suzukake: “Okay! Well then, lets eat~! *sip* …Mm~! *sigh* The scent of the sea is so relaxing.”

Sakyou:*chuckles* That doesn’t sound like something that would come from someone who never visited the sea before.”

Suzukake: “Really? But I’m really glad we came! You think so too, right?”

[21:41]

Sakyou: “Then it’s fine, but… today we ended up having more recreation than training, didn’t we?”

Suzukake: “But taking a break is also necessary for training, right? …By looking at these hands, I can easily tell that you’ve been on the last spurt of practice everyday at the dojo. The blisters on your hands are bursting. I’ll give you a good ointment later, okay?”

Sakyou: “That would be nice. There isn’t much I can do, but… is it alright for me to keep holding your hands like this? Your fingers are cold from the wind, and I’m wishing for them to regain their warmth as quickly as possible…”

Suzukake: “It’d be bad if you catch a cold, so I’ll do it too… I’ll hold your hands tightly.”

[22:30]

Sakyou: “Is it warm? *chuckles* Well then, let’s stay like this for a while. I feel like the warmth will reach even our hearts that way.”

Suzukake: “For some reason, if we’re sitting so closely to each other like this, it makes me feel all cozy and sleepy… Can we take a nap before going home?”

Sakyou: “We can’t do that. There, take a look outside the window. The sun is already going down. Let’s quickly make our preparations.”

Suzukake: “Ah… It’s gleaming with orange light, how beautiful…”

Sakyou: “Now that we have warmed up, shall we go?”

*door sliding open*

*footsteps walking out*

[23:34]

Sakyou: “The waves are calm right now, completely different from how they were moments ago. I never knew that the sunset reflected on the sea would be so… beautiful.”

Suzukake: “It’s glittering, how pretty!”

Sakyou: “Indeed, so much that I find myself nearly forgetting about returning home. However, we ended up staying here for far longer than planned… We have to go back quickly, before it gets dark.”

Suzukake: “Okay. Hey, give me your hand. Let’s hold hands as we walk home! I’ll hold this one, so Sakyou-san can have the other!”

Sakyou:*chuckles* I guess I have no choice. I shall go along with it for today. We’ll carry the naginata.”

[24:27]

Sakyou: “When you gaze at the sea with others by your side, it’s not bad at all.”

Suzukake: “Yeah. Hey, let’s come here again together! I want to see the summer sea next time.”

Sakyou: “That’s not bad either. When that time comes, will you… go with us again?”

Suzukake: “Hehe, yay~!”

Sakyou: “I’ll be looking forward to that day, then. Hopefully, we will be able to see a peaceful sea again… just like this.”

  2. こんにちは リン-さん. I wanted to (finally) comment/gave thoughts since I have been stalking you (in a good way xD) since a long time (2013, i believe), so here we go.

I somehow have the patient to wait, I mean it, because I never felt frustrated or upset waiting for yours and other otome blogger post, (eg Ilinoix-san) because I somehow can understood that you guys wrote this wall of tl:dr (pls don’t stop, i love it very very much :)) because you guys wrote out of passion and wanted to share your excitement to everybody in the otome game community and want to have fun. So yeah, it’s pretty understandible why you created that iconic “Dear Readers” (even though it’s waaaaaaaay back in the old post) post.

Overall, my point is that every hate/annoying comments you received, I’m 1000000% sure there is another billion followers (be it always or not commenting) will defend you for everything you had done for this WordPress account. *Bows down to 90 degrees*

Anyway, since I stalk you maybe in 2013, you had started playing Ken ga Kimi, so thanks to YOU, I’am totally addicted playing this perticular game and buying the drama CD’s, stellaworth and all that art goodies. It’s my guilty pleasure of all time even though I lost all LOT in my bank account and my wallet has started to change thickness over the years T-T

But I must say my favourite KgK guys are probably like this: 1. Tsuzuramaru (you know why), 2. My baby Suzukake (le hottie Iemitsu too), 3. Sakyou=Kei and 4. Saneaki=Enishi. But my favourite song from this entire game is probably Kiseki and this post is my all time favourite post of KgK, what is your favourite?

P.S: OMFG i just noticed this weird wall of tl:dr’s I created… Pls fogive me for this unbelivable wall of…… I had no idea what happen, but whatever (a token of my appreciation). Thanks for every post, リン-さん. Hope you don’t mind seeing my name in every rencent comments and level of weirdness. Ok, this has been deliberately long so I’m just gona stop typing since it’s like 1 am there? (From Singaporean-Malaysian otome gamer) :)))))))))))))))))

    • Hi, thanks for the comment!

My favorite song from Ken ga Kimi is the Kimi route ending song, “Towa ni, Hitotsu”. :D I understand what you mean by bank account going dry all too well LOL. Doesn’t help that they’re coming up with a sequel too. I’m happy to see Ken ga Kimi getting more stuff, but to be honest, I’m also hoping they won’t milk it too much. Like DiaLov.

Of course I don’t mind seeing you in comments. In fact, I’d be happy to have a reader who regularly comments. After all these years people come and go. Not many people stay to keep commenting, so I really appreciate those who do. :)

  3. Konichiwa, Rin-san!! I have been following aka stalking (in a good way) this WordPress (and other otome blogger in this community) for about 3 years so I think it’s time for me to comment. Ready? (this gona be a long massive text) Here we go,

Since I discovered this particular account when you started posting KgK so I somehow had been a big addicted to this game buying the stellaworth, art book and other goodies that resulted my wallet thickness to change drastically over the years together with my bank account that change the number of digits left T^T

But I just want to say that I will always have the patience for your (and other otome blogger) post. I had no idea why I have this patience though, I never felt upset or frustrated waiting for your post (probably because we all know how detailed your post are right now) but really, THANK YOU. You have heard of these words from a lot of people but really, I really love your every post in this account, be it crappy game or not, I still enjoyed it until now and even copy paste in my Microsoft Word so I can read it while travelling ;D

I understand that you created this account to share your passion and have fun while not have to deal with stress writing this (I mean you pretty much gave us the whole translation of the KgK game…. Oh! Please don’t stop typing/create tl:dr wall because I LOVE IT TOO MUCH RIN-SAN, TOO MUCH IT’S YOUR’S AND ILINOX-SAN FAULT :)))))))))

So my point is that every hate comments you received, please don’t forget they are a bunch of ungrateful people who doesn’t understand the value of typing this. You also have a large supportive followers/readers (like me) that will defend you (and not just you).

P.S Well, it not as long what I had suspected since I already cut down like half of it xp but yeah, hope you don’t mind seeing my name popping up like a pile of poop (WUT? i’m sorry). Life can be stressful but hey, that’s the function of us supportive people right? Hope you have a good day, Rin-san *bows down to 90 degrees*

Thank you, terima kasih banyak-banyak, xiexie, mucho grazias, danke, gamsahminda, merci, kiitos and ありがとうございます~~

    • Thank you for the comment and the support!

Lately I haven’t been blogging much due to real life schedule, but I will at least try to finish Ken ga Kimi and the Vita port before deciding what to do with this blog. I might not create super long, nearly line-by-line, summaries like this anymore if the game isn’t THAT good, so if you still want to stay despite that I’d be the most grateful. It gets a bit tiring to have people demanding for summaries / translations all the time, but it’s also encouraging to see nice comments like yours. :)

Since blogging was a hobby of mine that started out of love, I really want to keep it that way and not blog stuff just out of a sense of duty / because I feel forced to do so. So it really means a lot when you guys can understand that. Thanks for being so patient too, I know it’s been a year since I posted Enishi’s route so I don’t know if people are still even reading this blog LOL. I’ll do my best to finish blogging the rest of the game, and if possible write more after that.

      • Naah Don’t worry I come here from time to time since I really like your work, and as you see I’m not the only one. Take your time, readers like me will wait, and I think that most of people understand that there is life there, out of the internet and since you writing this blog as a hobby even one post for a year will be good ;) especially that your posts are really detailed.
Thank you for making this blog and for your love for otome games. Keep your precious time ;) !!!
