So, I just finished Re:BIRTHDAY SONG today. I wasn’t actually planning to blog this game, but changed my mind since the main story turns out to be pretty good. As I wasn’t too fond of the school life part, I’ll only cover the core of the story.
One night, the heroine wakes up in the middle of the street with absolutely no memories. As she looks around in confusion, a talking owl approaches her and decides to bring her to a castle—which turns out to be a school for shinigami candidates. There he explains that she’s currently in the netherworld, a place for those who died with regrets and lingering attachments. As the principal of the school, he gives her the name “Cocoro” and offers her a chance to stay at the school—taking lessons to become a full-fledged shinigami.
So after taking a ridiculously long time doing the common route post, I’ve made my way into Mizuchi’s route. This route explains most (if not all) the mysteries in the game, so you can do it whenever you want to figure out what’s going on.
Mizuchi is the Kaei of the Koukoku Class, a second year student in Kaen. He’s a really serious person, which unfortunately also makes him rather inflexible. He has a passionate side hidden deep inside of him, and he’ll do anything for the person he has fallen in love with. On the other hand, Mizuchi is really cold and ruthless towards traitors—whom he’d corner without mercy. Mizuchi ranks the third among the Five Brights.
If you haven’t noticed already, Liberta plays a very important role in Vascello Fantasma. This route focuses a lot on his relationship with Joshua, and it also gives a nice closure for both of them. Definitely one of the best in this game.
Liberta is a member of the intelligence division, 18 years old. He loves seeing new things and sailing out to the sea, feeling that living in a ship suits him the best. Since he grew up surrounded by men, Liberta has no resistance towards girls. He doesn’t have any experience in love either, and he always blushes if Felicita gets a little too close. Liberta is the holder of “The Fool”, with the power of turning his words into reality. He fights with a cutlass named “Speranza”.
I don’t know if route order matters in Arcobaleno, so I decided to follow the official site’s order and started with Kaname. He’s really devoted and this route is full of cuteness. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
Kaname is a first year student in Murota Gakuen’s management course. He’s the grandson of the school principal, and his father runs a famous Italian restaurant. Responsible and attentive, Kaname has the qualities of a leader, but he keeps it subtle and never shows off. He’s good at taking care of other people as well, and he often helps Yuuna and Fuuta whenever they need him. Kaname grows his own Italian tomatoes, which he keeps at the back of the boys’ dorm.
For the first run, I decided to go after Liberta. His cute innocence attracted my attention in the prologue, and he remains that adorable up until the end. Liberta is my favorite in this game. :3
Liberta is a member of the intelligence division. He loves seeing new things and idolizes Dante a lot. Sometimes his actions lead to failure since he always acts before he thinks, but most of the time Liberta manages to overcome difficulties purely by luck. If it’s for the sake of someone close to him, he’s more than willing to put extra effort to help. Liberta grew up surrounded by the men in Dante’s ship, so he almost has no resistance towards girls. Even to Felicita’s statue standing in the mansion. His weapon is a cutlass named “Speranza”. 18 years old.
I’m posting After Summer’s summary first since typing up all six routes in Hanaoni would take some time to finish. I’d love to do the portable Starry Sky games too when I get the chance..
The game opens four years after Yahisa Tsukiko’s graduation from Seigetsu Gakuen. The archery club members went drinking together since Azusa’s currently in Japan. They talked about their unforgettable summer, which was the summer of Tsukiko’s third year. It was their last Inter High and they had a two-weeks training camp before then. The captain, Miyaji Ryuunosuke, announced that he already called a special trainer to help them train: Kanakubo Homare, their ex-captain. The bond between them grows stronger during this two weeks.
