So, I just finished Re:BIRTHDAY SONG today. I wasn’t actually planning to blog this game, but changed my mind since the main story turns out to be pretty good. As I wasn’t too fond of the school life part, I’ll only cover the core of the story.
One night, the heroine wakes up in the middle of the street with absolutely no memories. As she looks around in confusion, a talking owl approaches her and decides to bring her to a castle—which turns out to be a school for shinigami candidates. There he explains that she’s currently in the netherworld, a place for those who died with regrets and lingering attachments. As the principal of the school, he gives her the name “Cocoro” and offers her a chance to stay at the school—taking lessons to become a full-fledged shinigami.
Before reading further, please keep in mind that Kaname is a bit different from how he is in the novels. He flirts and hits on Ema all the time, but he’s also the sexy king of the game. (❤ฺ￫艸￩)
Kaname is the 3rd son of the Asahina family, 26 years old. He’s a Buddhist monk who doesn’t act like one, and he absolutely loves hitting on every girl who walks into his field of vision. Due to his flashy appearance and attitude, he looks more like a professional host instead. Kaname is infamous for what he calls “gracious words”, and the number of women who wish to hear this suspicious subject is never-ending. He hits on Ema right from their very first encounter.
Now this is more like it. I watched a bit of Dorn’s route and ending, but that only made me more curious about this ドS sleeping prince. Sadly this route is rather short and similar to Rosen’s.
Sleeping Beauty’s older brother. His real name is Dorn von Lune, but people calls him “Ibara no Ouji”. Dorn received a heavy curse to save his sister’s life, and so his body remains asleep in the castle. Despite his formal and polite way of speaking, Dorn is a sadistic prince who loves insulting everyone around him. He’s also charismatic and has a high pride, whipping everyone who dares to object with his rose scourging whip. Whenever his sister is in trouble, Dorn will appear from the thorny vines she summons.
Following a friend’s advice, I decided to start with Hammer.. and I’m glad I did. His true ending ruined everything. It changes my impression of him from hilarious to creepy as hell. ((ﾉllﾟДﾟllヽ))
Hamada Shinnosuke is the representative from Shinagawa. He’s currently 18 years old, a third year student in Hokuougi Juku High School. Shinnosuke is filthy rich and often uses his money to resolve everything, ranging from buying huge hotels to bribing his own fans club. He’s a pervert and often throws erotic remarks even on stage, though he also gets picked on a lot thanks to his weird personality. He’s rather poetic, but he invents his own vocabulary.
Since I’m a big fan of Suwabe Junichi, I had high expectations for Kaito’s route. Not to mention that I absolutely love his looks. (｡･ω･｡)ﾉ♡ Too bad this route and Kaito himself disappointed me.
Roachrist no. 2. Playful, simple-minded, and never thinks too deeply about things. He says things lightly and often has unfortunate slips of the tongue. Kaito lives in the moment and hates unnecessary effort. As long as his life is good and easy, he’ll be satisfied. Kaito isn’t honest with his feelings, but he always helps those in trouble. Best friends with his support, Effy.
I was wondering if I should save Gokuu for later since I loved his route in S.Y.K, but I couldn’t wait and did his route anyway. This route is similar to Gojou’s, peaceful and slow-paced.
Gokuu and Genjou are now living a peaceful life in the orphanage for six months now. He’s in charge of cooking, but that morning Gokuu is busy sleeping in his room instead. He refused to wake up unless Genjou gives him a kiss, but he’s surprised when she really climbed on top of him. As she leans closer, Gokuu pulled her and kissed her saying she’s so bold today. If she does this everyday he’ll surely wake up in time.
