Dot Kareshi III – Villager

Actually, I considered saving Villager for last because of his secret… but then I’d feel sorry for poor Evil Lord, so I ended up going for Villager first. Villager might appear innocent, but don’t be fooled. He’s just as perverted as the rest of them.

むらびと (CV:三浦祥朗)

Villager is an NPC you can find in town, handing out herbs to travelers. You did notice that all male villagers seem to have the same design, but what you didn’t know is that they’re actually the same person. Villager has been following you throughout your journey, all because he wanted to see you again. That desire eventually awakened him to tremendous power. He’s 19 and has no weapons nor combat skills. 165 cm / 56 kg. His blood type is A.

Quest: VILLAGER

If you choose Villager’s quest, everyone is ready to depart when Evil Lord suddenly stops walking—telling everyone to wait. This causes Slime to bump into his back, knocking you down and exposing your panties at the same time. Σ(-∀-;) When Villager asks if there’s something wrong, Evil Lord answers that he should be the one asking that question. Villager has said multiple times that his wish is for him to meet you again, but since you’re now here… his wish is supposed to be fulfilled already. Slime asks if this marks the end of the quest, but Dark Knight doesn’t think so—because there’s absolutely no change. Slime even performs a body check on you just to make sure, but can’t find anything out of the ordinary. Oh, and by “body check” I mean groping.

Villager thinks it’s only obvious though, since he hasn’t done anything at all. This means his wish hasn’t come true, so Evil Lord asks about what he’s actually wishing for. For some shady reason, Villager panics and says that the question is so sudden. He wants to think about his wish carefully, so he invites everyone to spend the night in his house today—even offering to prepare dinner for them. Dark Knight doesn’t get why he’s being so anxious, but Slime doesn’t really care. Mainly because he’s hungry. Evil Lord eventually agrees, though he’s clearly not happy to spend the night in such a tiny, cramped hut. Slime doesn’t mind sleeping outside though, and he also invites you to join him. He says you can sleep inside of him and treat him like a comfortable water bed, but you obviously refuse LOL.

In any case, Villager asks everyone to wait as he cooks dinner. Dark Knight thanks him for the hospitality, while Evil Lord only tells him to make it quick. Villager answers that he’ll work on it immediately, but then he adds this line in a quiet voice:

Villager: “…because a lot of preparations are necessary to make my wish come true.”

……… ∑((((((゚д゚;ノ)ノ

The next day, Villager comes to wake everyone up. Slime, who’s already awake, decides to help by pulling your blanket. At first Villager is worried that you might get startled, but he instantly turns red the moment Slime jerks your blanket away. Apparently your sleeping posture is so terrible it exposes all sorts of body parts. (*ノ∀ノ)イヤン Slime wonders if he should play tricks on you, and Villager can only weakly asks him to stop. Soon after, Evil Lord and Dark Knight also come to check why they’re making such a commotion. Dark Knight panics and screams upon seeing your “unladylike” appearance, while Evil Lord simply points out that Villager is nose-bleeding LOL. Evil Lord seems amused to see this though, noting that Villager is surprisingly pure. (o´艸`o)ァハ♪

Meanwhile, Slime is asking you to wake up—telling you that everyone is watching. When you finally open your eyes, Dark Knight comments that your sleeping behavior is much worse than he expected. Evil Lord, on the other hand, tells you that you’ve shown them quite a lot of things. (⊙ω⊙✿) Out of embarrassment, you start throwing everything you can grab at them. Of course they protest since they didn’t do anything, while Villager mutters that it was all Slime’s fault to begin with. Slime only giggles beside him though LOL. Due to his nocturnal nature, Evil Lord finds it really hard to wake up in the morning… but Villager answers that it’s already noon. He also grumbles about how playable characters—like Brave, for example—are all so worldly wise, and that’s why he doesn’t like them.

When Dark Knight asks if he said something, Villager quickly denies it. Instead, he changes the subject by saying that he has figured out what he wants to wish for. A problem has occurred in his village, and so he wants everyone in the party to help. Or so he says. In other words, it’s an errand quest and they depart for the village right away. However, the village is actually located quite far away from Villager’s house. Slime finds this strange, and he asks why Villager is living so far outside the village. Is he bullied or something…? However, Villager remains silent.

Instead of answering, Villager suddenly mentions that he forgot an important item in his house. You offer to run back and get the item for him, but he quickly rejects the suggestion. He wants you to stay with him, and he sends Slime to do it instead. Slime is clearly not pleased about this, but he agrees and leaves them to backtrack. Since Villager hasn’t told them anything at all, Dark Knight thinks it’s about time for him to share the details of his quest with everyone… but Villager only points out that they’ve finally reached the village. He nervously adds that he’s going to explain the details later, and so for now, he wants the party to walk into the village first.

Upon entering the plaza, Evil Lord is taken aback to see that the village is empty. There’s no one in sight, and Dark Knight tells you to hide behind Villager’s back—because he has a really bad feeling about this. While Evil Lord doesn’t sense any threatening presence around them, he can’t shake off the feeling that something creepy is going on. He asks if Villager knows anything about this, and there’s a brief yet shady silence before Villager answers that he just remembered something. He claims that he came to the village last night and informed people of the party’s visit today, so they might be gathering in the elder’s house. After all, they would panic if Evil Lord and Dark Knight suddenly appear before their eyes… right?

Before Evil Lord could say anything else, Villager quickly adds that the elder is going to meet them at the pub… and he asks Dark Knight to call the elder. At first Dark Knight refuses to be ordered around, but Evil Lord points out that he obviously can’t go and do that on his own. No one would want Evil Lord to barge into the elder’s house, so Dark Knight is their only option. In the meantime, Evil Lord, Villager and you are going to wait at the pub. Or maybe not. ✿*,(*´◕ω◕`*)+✿.* Soon after Dark Knight walks away, Evil Lord says he wants to have breakfast. You nod saying you’re hungry too, while Villager mentions that the pub is well-known for its tasty food. It’s just they only serve humans.

Evil Lord doesn’t catch the last bit. He’s about to ask further when they suddenly hear something breaking in the distance, and it’s immediately followed by Dark Knight’s scream. This really shocks Evil Lord, and at the same time leads him to realize that Slime is also taking forever to catch up. Upon hearing this, Villager starts muttering in a really quiet voice. He wonders if Evil Lord wants to stay with Slime that badly, which ultimately leads him to the conclusion that both of them are fellow monsters after all. When Evil Lord asks if he said something, Villager smiles and assures him that everything will be alright—he will be able to join Slime soon. Right after saying this, Villager suddenly summons a magic circle out of thin air and charges in to attack him. Evil Lord is obviously caught by surprise, and he goes down almost immediately.

Now that the “enemies” are gone, Villager calmly walks over and hugs you. That’s when he finally reveals that his wish is to stay by your side forever. He’s always wanted to convey his feelings to you, even if that means he has to discard everything else. Despite the surprise, you decide to thank him for the affection… and he’s happy to see you accepting him. 壁|д・´)!! Villager thinks he was being a bit too rash because he pretty much took care of everything in the plaza, even if no one is around to witness what happened. Not that he really minds though, and he decides to move on to the finishing touches. He notices that you look terrified when he casts another magic circle, but he chuckles and asks you not to be afraid. After all, you have him—an omnipotent being—by your side. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ He wants you to come with him to a world just for the two of you, then he grabs you by the arm and warps away.

From there, you are taken into a different, golden dimension. You’re obviously shocked, but Villager once again asks you not to worry—assuring that you’re in a very safe place. After helping you to stand up, he happily says that he can finally be alone with you. As you can see for yourself, there’s absolutely nothing in this world. It doesn’t have any notable characteristics nor features—just like himself. However, this also means that he can change it however he likes. Since you seem confused, Villager asks if you still don’t get it. For a long, LONG time, Villager has been wishing for you to notice his existence. He made this world—a place only for you and him—for that purpose. He breaks into mad laughter as he tells you that you won’t be able to go anywhere, and no one can come into this dimension either.

That aside, Villager wonders if you know his name. When you hesitantly ask if it’s “Villager”, he replies that your guess is unfortunately wrong. He actually doesn’t have a name, and he doesn’t need one either. After all, he only exists to provide directions and herbs for Brave’s party. Back at the beginning of your first run, you came to talk to him repeatedly. The fact that he could only answer with fixed lines frustrated him, but he was really happy to talk to you—even if it’s only through trivial options. Before long, Villager fell in love with you. That’s not the end of it though. In the game, you explored various villages and town. Naturally, each town has residents living in it… but they all share the same design. All of them are villagers in cotton clothes, and they don’t have any notable traits either. However, Villager reveals that all of these NPCs are actually one and the same person—him. ゚.+:。ヾ(o・ω・)ノ゚.+:。

Even though you’re completely unaware of this, Villager wanted to keep his eyes on you forever. He wants to go on an adventure with you. That’s why he always went ahead of you to the next town, and then he’d wait for you to notice him… but you never did. (´・ω・`;) Towards the end of the adventure, you’ve stopped talking to the NPCs in town. Mainly because they repeat the same line over and over again. He wanted to hear your voice even if it’s only for a second or two, and yet you completely ignored him. It’s also because you were surrounded by characters who are well-developed and offer more variety of lines, like Brave and Wizard. In contrary, Villager is only a mob NPC—an empty character with no name, personality nor story. He loves you more than anyone else, and yet he got ignored all the time.

That’s why Villager decided to create this dimension. It’s a world where you won’t notice anyone but him, and he tells you to take a good look. He’s no longer a common “villager” that you can find everywhere. In this world, he has become a unique existence that stays by your side—a villager who only belongs to you. When you try to resist, Villager only chuckles and tells you not to struggle like that. From now on, the two of you are going to live in this empty world forever. (lll’□’o)ァ・・・。

…except not really.

Before Villager can do anything, Evil Lord suddenly breaks into the empty dimension to stop him. Villager is a bit surprised, but he says it’s just as expected from Evil Lord. Even if his reputation has been tarnished, Evil Lord managed to track them down pretty fast. He’s soon followed by Dark Knight and Slime, and both of them immediately run to your side—shielding you from Villager. As they check if you have any injuries, Evil Lord says that Villager has a lot of guts for doing that. He’s never seen such a barrier before, so it was rather difficult for him to break.

Evil Lord: “I thought my magic power was weakening, so it threw me into a panic!”
Dark Knight: “…don’t say what doesn’t need to be said.”

(○´゚ω゚`):;*.’:;ブッ

On Evil Lord’s command, Dark Knight and Slime follow him to start their counter-attack against Villager. However, Villager easily blocks all of their attacks. He repels Evil Lord’s magic, nullifies Dark Knight’s skills, and turns so slippery that Slime can’t stick onto him. Villager’s appearance slightly changes as he laughs in victory. His grey hair turns jet black, while his eyes have changed colors to gold. As he told you just a moment ago, he doesn’t have definite characteristics… but that’s exactly why he can turn into anything he wants. He can alter both this world and himself. Or as Slime accurately described, he’s just like a cheat character LOL.

Villager says he didn’t notice this ability at first. However, he soon realized that the world was gradually changing as he started acting on his own will—even though he didn’t have any role in the game. He was supposed to stay at the same place and repeat the same line over and over again, but once he broke free from that state… he obtained the ability to change anything he wants. Including his job, his personality, and also his stats. Upon taking a closer look, Evil Lord realizes that Villager is really saying the truth. The cotton clothes he’s wearing has maxed out defense, along with the special effect to nullify ALL elements. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ His weapon, a cypress staff, blocks all physical attacks with the success rate of 100%. Dark Knight protests saying he should’ve put that effect on a SHIELD and not a weapon, but that doesn’t make it less unfair. Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒Y⌒(。A。)アヒャヒャヒャヒャ!!

When Slime complains about this blatant foul play, Villager simply laughs and tells them to say whatever they want. It was his lack of characteristics that granted him this freedom, and he can play around with it as he likes. Unlike them, he doesn’t have any name or background story to tie him down. He’s omnipotent and can turn into anything. Of course he can change his name freely too, so he decides that starting from today… he’s going to call himself “Last Boss”. He’s unrivaled, supreme, and unique. ヽ(*´ー`*)ノ Evil Lord is obviously shocked since it’s supposed to be his title, but Villager points out that he has proved himself to be far more superior. Poor guy. 。゚(゚ノ∀`゚)゚。アヒャヒャ

Refusing to accept this, Evil Lord starts attacking Villager again with Dark Knight and Slime’s help… but again, they can’t seem to damage him at all. On the other hand, Villager laughs saying they’re no longer a match for him. They’re nothing but pebbles that lie between him and his objective, like mob characters that have zero influence on their surroundings. Considering his position all this time, Villager is obviously proud and happy that he can say this line to the key characters LOL. Since they’re pretty much powerless against him, he tells them to just lie on the ground like that—until the day his wish finally comes true.

Despite everyone’s warning, you come out of hiding and walk up to Villager. When you ask further about his wish, he confirms that he’s doing all of this so he can be alone with you. He spent 100 days praying at the lake just have this wish granted, gaining power and turning into “Last Boss” as the result. Now he only needs you to accept everything and live with him in this world, then his wish will finally be granted. By the way, the options for this scene are like this:

  1. “O…… Okay……”
  2. “……yes.”
  3. “I will live together… with you…”

As you can see, “NO” ISN’T AN OPTION. (((壊゚∀゚)))ァヒャヒャヒャヒャヒャヒャ

If you choose the last one, Villager happily answers that he’s been waiting for those words. Now that his wish has finally come true, he asks you to come closer and seal the eternal vow with a kiss. However, just as you move closer to him… the dimension suddenly starts shaking, crumbles apart, and throws everyone back to the village plaza in the end. Evil Lord can sense people’s presence as well, which means that they really did make it back. Villager is obviously confused, but you point out that it might be because his wish has been granted. He obtained power for the sake of his wish, so the moment he realized that his wish has come true… the power vanished. Dark Knight notes that his stats have reverted back to a normal villager’s as well.

While Evil Lord wants to jump on this chance to take revenge, you quickly stop him from casting a spell to attack Villager. Just as Evil Lord tells you to get out of the way, Villager suddenly starts sniffing and totally bursts into tears. Σ(゚ー゚;) Evil Lord is clearly taken aback to see this, and he grumbles that he wanted to cry too just a moment ago LOL. When you give him a handkerchief, Villager accepts it and thanks you. He sobs out that he simply wants to be with you, so you nod and tell him that you know. Evil Lord doesn’t get any of this and feels left behind, but Dark Knight asks him to let it slide. Slime also points out that Villager has turned into a crybaby, so crushing him isn’t exactly necessary. Evil Lord is still terrified by how Villager wanted to snatch his position as “Last Boss” though, and Dark Knight laughs saying he turned really pale under Villager’s threat. (○´゚ω゚`):;*.’:;ブッ

Now that the issue has been resolved, Villager asks if you’re willing to forgive him. When you nod at him, he asks if he was helpful as a mob NPC—as his role is to provide directions for the main party. He’s really happy when you answer that he did help, and he also sets a new goal in his life. From now on, he’s going to work on improving his presence so he can be as memorable as the main characters. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ Evil Lord feels super threatened though LOL. The residents of the village start coming out soon after that, and so Evil Lord decides to take everyone to his castle for now. Villager is, of course, coming with you. Slime also notices that Villager and you have grown closer, and it’s stressing him out because this quest doesn’t allow him to glue himself to you. Evil Lord tells him to stop complaining though, then he warps everyone directly to his castle.

After the Quest

The next morning, Villager asks if you’ve figured out what you’re going to do from now on. He spent a lot of time thinking about this too last night, and he eventually decided to travel around the world. Noticing that you’re surprised, he laughs saying it’s because he wants you to keep talking to him. He wants to help you as much as possible, so he’s planning to collect information from all over the world. When you thank him, Villager says he should be the one who’s thanking you. He used to be nothing more than a man who stands in the corner of a village, but you gave his life a purpose.

Villager admits that he did commit a failure yesterday, but he’s going to work hard starting from today. Who knows, maybe he’ll be a “Traveler” instead of “Villager” by the time you see him again… and he asks you to notice him when that time comes. Once again, Villager thanks you for everything.

Staying with Villager

Villager is aware that he’s powerless. He doesn’t have a great sword to defeat enemies, nor outstanding magic spells to defend himself with. He has none of those things. That’s why he thought that even if you ignore him and abandon the world inside the game, he has no choice but to give up. However, he found out that he actually has power within himself. It surprised him as well, as he never thought that he’d end up stopping you from going back to your world. His power ran out right after he snatched you back from the god, but he feels satisfied. As long as he has you by his side, he doesn’t need any power—not even if it’s powerful enough to conquer the world. His wish is to simply have a quiet life with you. Nothing more, nothing less.

A few days later, Villager takes you to forage herbs in the woods. You’ve gathered quite a lot by the time he calls for a short break, and he chuckles upon seeing all the sweat on your forehead. He says you don’t have to work too hard though, because all the herbs will end up getting thrown away in the end. Each of them only recovers 50 HP, so no one would be interested in them. Noticing that you feel bad, Villager asks you not to give him that look—he doesn’t mean to blame you. That’s just how things work, and he would do the same thing if he were in Brave’s position. When you ask why he still collects herbs despite knowing that people would only throw them away, Villager answers that it’s because he has nothing else to do. He does have the option of spacing out at home all day, but he finds it more refreshing to go into the woods. Up until now he’d gather herbs alone in silence, but now that you’re here to accompany him… it becomes even more enjoyable for him. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:*

This also reminds Villager that the lake where he met the god is located around this vicinity. It’s a beautiful place, and so he asks if you want to see it… but then he suddenly falls silence and takes it back. When you ask him for the reason, he admits that he’s worried. He’s afraid that if he brings you to the lake, something might happen again. The light might appear—just like what happened in Evil Lord’s castle—and send you back to your world for real. He managed to stop you back then, but he wouldn’t want it to happen again. He also feels bad and apologizes for being selfish, because he knows that you obviously want to return to your world. You’re not blaming Villager at all though. Instead, you pat his head in the hope of comforting him. He chuckles saying it feels good, and he tells you that it’s the first time someone has ever done this to him. He thinks you’re a very kind person. You’re staying with him even after what he’s done, and you even comfort him when he’s feeling down.

After some silence, Villager eventually decides to visit the lake with you. Even if something happens, he’s not going to stop you anymore… as he believes that accepting your wish is also a form of love. You’ve given him a lot of memories, so he says he’ll be fine even if he’s alone—he can always hold onto those memories. However, you refuse to visit the lake. Villager is surprised to hear this, and he asks you for the reason since it might be a chance for you to go home. He smiles and assures you that there’s no need to worry about him, but you point out that he looks really sad—as if he’s holding back his tears. You’re not convinced at all, so he lets out a weak laugh and says that he must be a poor actor.

However, Villager also admits that he feels relieved to hear your answer. The fact that you chose to stay by his side makes him really happy, so much that he wants to start dancing on the spot. Even though he tried to cover it up, he has to admit that it does feel lonely to be alone—even more so because he’s learned the joy of having someone by his side. Villager promises that he’ll definitely make you happy, and he wants to sharing a quiet yet entertaining life with you. This gives him the idea of cultivating herbs instead of just foraging them from the woods. That way, the two of you will be able to nice medicinal herbs that people would gladly pay a fortune for. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ Anything can happen in this world because of the bug, but it also means that he might be able to exploit it to work on new ideas.

Villager excitedly says that he’s going to work hard and gather a lot of money, so he can provide a better life for you. He wants to start working on this idea right away, so the two of you are going to be busy from now on. When you point out that he looks much more reliable than before, Villager blushes saying it’s all thanks to you. It’s because you’re here with him, and your presence gives him the courage to take action. Villager shyly asks if he can hold your hand, and you also turn red as you nod in return. He smiles as he draws closer to you, noting that your hand feels so soft and warm—letting him know that you’re really here with him. The next moment, Villager suddenly pulls you into his arms. Noticing that you’re surprised, he apologizes saying he wants to feel your presence even more.

Since you’re not resisting at all, Villager can tell that you don’t hate being hugged by him… so he decides not to hold back and immerse himself in your sensation. He finds your warmth very comfortable, so much that he thinks it might be able to heal his HP much more than herbs or healing magic. ✿*,(*´◕ω◕`*)+✿.* Needless to say he feels incredibly happy right now, and he wonders if he should stop the time. When you panic and struggle, he quickly adds that he was just joking—because he doesn’t have that kind of power anymore. Or does he…? You say you’re being extra careful since he was totally aiming for the “Last Boss” position before, but he laughs and replies that it was just a small mistake he made in the past. He doesn’t possess such power right now, so you don’t have to worry. ゚.+:。ヾ(o・ω・)ノ゚.+:。 He asks you to allow him to hug you for a little longer, and you finally decide to trust him.

After a while, Villager whispers in a REALLY quiet voice that he can’t stop the time. However, he can infuse magic into herbs. If he keeps strengthening them through this method, he might be able to obtain enough power to strike back—just in case the god returns to send you back to your world. (⊙ω⊙✿) When you ask if he said something, Villager smiles and answers that it’s nothing important. He says he was only praying to the god, wishing for his happiness with you to last forever. Then he asks you to always stay by his side.

YOU LIAR. (((壊゚∀゚)))ァヒャヒャヒャヒャヒャヒャ

Returning with Villager

Villager has always thought that no matter how much he loves you, you would never return his feelings. It made him sad, but he knew that he’s only a mob character… and that he’ll never be more than “Villager A” in your eyes. That’s why when a miracle brought you to notice his existence, it made him incredibly happy. However, humans are greedy creatures. Once he was granted the chance to talk to you on equal terms, he started wishing for more. In the end, it drove him to do something unbelievable—he followed you to your world. He doesn’t regret it though, because he doesn’t want to return to a world where you can’t spot him among many others.

One day, Villager asks if you want to have beef stew for dinner. You’re really excited since his beef stew is a masterpiece, and this makes him feel rewarded in return since he’s doing his best to be creative. For beef stew, he always puts in a subtle amount of spice to bring out the flavor… and he’s really good at blending them together. You feel bad since he also does all sorts of housework for you, but he says that’s his reason for living. He can provide much more support for you compared to before, and it makes him unbelievably happy… so he asks you not to worry and just focus on your studies.

When you thank him, Villager feels really moved. He never thought that he’d get to hear a sincere “thank you”—not as a fixed line in the game—directly from you, and it makes him so happy his tears are coming out. While you think that he might be overreacting, Villager makes it clear that he’s not. It’s a really great thing for a humble mob NPC like him, though he knows that you probably don’t understand how it feels. In the game, mob NPCs can only say fixed, repeated lines. It’s considered good enough if the player talks to them, because as long as they’re not needed by the main characters… they usually get ignored instead. Most people treat them like a part of the background.

Realizing that you look sad, Villager quickly apologizes saying he didn’t mean to make you feel depressed. NPCs are created to be like that, so it’s not that he can do anything about it. However, you actually found him. Even if it was caused by the god’s whim or a quirk of fate, it won’t change the fact that you noticed his existence… and he wouldn’t be here today if you never did. You’re a bit worried though, since he’s not used to how things work in your world. He admits that a lot of things surprised him at first, but he actually found everything refreshing. He didn’t really find it hard to adapt, as he has the talent of blending into his surroundings in no time. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ When he goes to take out the trash in the morning, your neighbors greet him normally—believing that he’s also a resident in the neighborhood LOL.

Since Villager only needs your attention, he actually finds this rather convenient. He wants to provide a lot of support for you, and he’s hoping that his existence will become more and more valuable for you—up to the point where you can no longer live without him. ✿*,(*´◕ω◕`*)+✿.* VIllager then asks if he should give you a shoulder massage, since you’ve been studying on your desk for so long. You quickly refuse though, because you get the feeling that his massage is going to escalate into… something else. He tells you not to be so wary of him though, and he asks if he looks like a man who would do naughty things like that. YES. YES YOU DO. (⊙ω⊙✿) He even shows his “refreshing” smile and claims to be completely harmless, but you point out that he can be rather… dark… from time to time.

Upon hearing this, Villager chuckles saying you saw right through him… so he doesn’t have to hold back anymore. He immediately drops the act and says that he’s going to have some fun with you, and you get really flustered when he draws closer. This causes Villager to burst into laughter, as he finds your reaction super cute. When you sulk and ask if he’s teasing you, he answers that he didn’t mean to do that. Helping you is his reason for living, so he’s not going to do anything that would trouble you. Before, he could only see you for very brief moments… but it’s different now. He has plenty of time to spend with you, so there’s no need to rush when it comes to groping you uh… yeah, THAT. For now, however, Villager has to go out and buy the ingredients for dinner. He invites you to come along and take a break from studying, and you gladly agree. He has to change first though, so he asks you to get ready as well.

Along the way, Villager notices that there’s a van at the park. You explain that it’s an ice cream shop, and they move around to do business in various locations by using the van. Villager doesn’t know what an ice cream is though, so you tell him that it’s also sold in the supermarket. He remembers the picture, but since he never tried eating one, you decide to stop by the park and buy an ice cream for him. He’s about to walk off and buy two ice creams for both you and him, but you quickly tell him that you don’t need one. Lately you’ve been eating a bit too much thanks to his delicious cooking, and you’ve gained weight as the result LOL. Villager is happy to receive the compliment, but he feels a bit conflicted since he wants to eat the ice cream with you… so he decides to buy one and share it with you instead.

Not too long after that, Villager returns with an ice cream in one hand—saying that you and him can take turns eating it. You allow him to go first, so he takes a bite and notes that it’s tastes delicious. Next is your turn, so he holds out the ice cream towards you and asks you to eat it. Before you can eat it, however… he suddenly leans in and kisses you. (*´艸`*)ァハ♪ Realizing that he really caught you by surprise, he apologizes saying it’s because you were so defenseless. He couldn’t help but taste your lips along with the ice cream. ゚.+:。ヾ(o・ω・)ノ゚.+:。 Just as he expected, this sort of food tastes much better when he’s sharing it with you. Oh, and by sharing I mean literally sharing it mouth-to-mouth. 三ヾ(*´ω`)ノ゙ ウッヒョヒョ♪

Villager then asks you to continue eating the ice cream. When you tell him that you’re embarrassed, he assures you that it’s alright—no one is watching. Besides, the ice cream will melt if you ignore it for too long. ヽ(*´ー`*)ノ After kissing you again, Villager chuckles saying the ice cream he shares with you tastes extremely good… and he asks if you feel the same way.

THAT’S ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

Okay no, I actually like Villager a lot LOL. He might be a creepy stalker, but the thought of him following you around amuses me to no end. Maybe because I’m the type who talks to every single NPC in town or villages, and I tend to visit them repeatedly throughout the entire game—even if I know they’ll repeat the same line over and over again. (´・∀・`;)ゞ Looking at his endings, it seems like Villager is a great husband material too. He’s very supportive, takes a good care of you, makes delicious food for you, and loves you up to the point of creating an empty dimension just for you. (人´∀`)☆゜’・:* Who cares if it’s creepy, it’s love! He’s undoubtedly dark inside though, since he keeps saying cruel things with a straight face from time to time. Even in the common route. アヒャヒャ。゚(゚ノ∀`。゚(゚ノ∀ヽ゚)゚。´∀ヽ゚)゚。ヒャヒャ

  1. kyaa…villager…I thought he’s a creepy yandere like the other characters in other games but I also end up liking him ✿*,(*´◕ω◕`*)+✿.*

And thanks for you awesome review as always. I was quite surprised that you have posted your review about Dot Kareshi III in four consecutive days and it makes me extremely happy!

And as what other fans desire, I also hope that there is a scene or even the fourth installment of this game wherein everyone’s party would mix up or rather collide with each other especially brave’s party and the evil lord’s party (*^*)

More power to you and I’ll practically wait for Evil Lord’s route!

    • He’s not exactly a yandere, isn’t he? More like a stalker instead, but that won’t change the fact that he IS creepy LOL. The posts have been sitting on my PC as rough drafts, so I just edited all of them at once. Hope you enjoyed it. :D

As much as I want more of Dot Kare, I think Rejet is pretty much done with this series. ;_; It was meant to be a short series after all, though it’d be nice if we can see more interactions between different parties.

  2. Lol i love all the characters but i think I felt sorry for villager the most since his whole existence is to be part of the background and ignored. He definitely has a yandere thing going for him but his devotion to the MC is so cute it made me smile when I was reading about how much he loves her! Agree on the husband material.

    • They even made fun of his bland characteristics. xD
He’s not exactly mad or anything though, he just loves you too much and wants to be noticed LOL.

  3. Wow, the villager is Dark! and cruel! Didn’t like him much. he’s kinda scary so I know why Evil Lord was afraid of him at the end of the normal ending!
    thanks for the great post!

  4. maaaaaan after the normal ending and his appearance in other Dot Kareshi games I expected the creepiness from him but DAAAANG. I tend to also talk to the npcs multiple times just in case XD I think I find villager bit more scary than Slime…. Hmm based on your overview it makes it sound like her love for him was so… quick. I know that you have ti simplify so it isn’t so long but how was your take on it? I mean he didn’t harm her per se but did her love for him seem too quick? Also, I really like him with black hair and gold eyes O______O he should stay that way…..

    • Actually, the heroine falls in love really quick with ALL of them. The depth of the interaction / relationship doesn’t really matter. All it takes is a quest and a night together, and the next day she’s already in love LOL. I feel that “the reason why she fell in love” is something we shouldn’t seek from Dot Kareshi, so I just let it slide. (´・∀・`;)ゞ Or maybe he secretly cheated to make her fall in love, who knows. I agree though, Villager is super hot with black hair and golden eyes. 8D

      • ooooh I see. Well seeing as it’s such a short game, totally understandable that she falls in love quickly xD But when she says she’ll stay with him, I immediately thought “Stockholm Syndrome” hahaha xD; I like that his personality is plain on the outside but he’s a bit … different on the inside! Indeed, when I was reading the part about him in a different dimension, I was actually wondering if he was going to MAKE her fall in love with him or something! I wouldn’t put it past him @A@ Thank you for your work on the whole series! c:

        • No problem, thanks for reading! :D
Seriously, the closest thing to rejection in this route is her reluctant answer. But even so, she’ll still come into Villager’s arms anyway. Since this game is so short, the heroine is incredibly easy-going and adapts to everything really fast. Including how she accepts Villager’s dark side LOL.

  5. Villager was there since the first game, so yay, foreshadowing! Ah—–Villager’s great! He was so suspicious throughout the quest, lol. But he is really sincere, and so very nice!

  6. Hey Rin! I’m planning on playing this series now, which character ended up being your fave? And how long did it take you to play each game? I don’t have much time these days, so I was hoping to know how many hours this series will take me lol

    • It took me literally one day to finish each game. They’re really short, each route should only take you 2-3 hours at most, so if you don’t have much time to play this one should be doable LOL. My favorites ended up being Wizard, Monk, and Evil Lord.
